well... it depends in which country are you during that time.

Germany and Japan: soldiers were starving in climates where they didn't had proper equipment for; jungle(Japan) and Russian winter(Germany). The civilians weren't in better shape either with the rationing and stuff.

Soviet Union: more or less the same as above, the difference was in the fact that they actually had material... but the soldier were starving as well because Stalin was more concerned with tank manufacturing than feeding the fellows who drove them. As for the civilians...I don't have any account of the rationing system for civilian population, my guess is that the farther, the worst it was.

Italy: awful weapons and rations but no shortage of either. no account for civilan rationing either.

European Allies: the soldiers had loaned weapons(Free France) and questionable food quality(everybody) but quantity of both. the civilian situation zigzaged at best.

USA:.... self-explanatory, unless you were japanese, german or italian.

And all of this without taking in account the firebombings and such. As for WWi, switch italy and japan for austria and the ottomans but italy keeps the same problems(sort of).

it's always best to be a civi in some remote shack.

Only hoard just a few calibers, but there's no reason you can't get more guns just because they're chambered in less common calibers. I recently added two new calibers to my gun collection (.300 Win Mag and .32 ACP), but I have no intention of ever hoarding those calibers

I have around 4000 rounds of 9mm, 2500 rounds of .40S&W, and around 1200 rounds of 5.56 (running low) because I shoot those calibers regularly. However, I only have about 70 rounds of .300 Win Mag and 350 rounds of .32 ACP.

My only problem with the P320 is that the slide is needlessly tall, and I don't really care about that from a bore axis standpoint, but it adds physical size to the gun and makes the P320 Compact that much less practical to carry. The whole point was for it to replace the Glock 19, but why would I replace my perfectly good Glock 19 with something that holds the same capacity of ammo and is that much bigger?

GIGN has a valid and very specific use for them.

In the video I'm looking for they explain they have them tuned to individual operators with custom triggers, hammers, grips, springs, and sears. GIGN are expected to shoot groups the size of a quarter at 30 meters. Also they say the blast in confined spaces is used as a small distraction device, as compared to 9mm weapons that are often suppressed, and although it is kind of a meme point, revolvers are jamproof. The GIGN instructor who explained it actually made really good points and changed my mind. Plus there's footage of GIGN operators pulling mad 3gun level shit with them, reloads in the blink of an eye, rapidly engaging small moving targets, ect...
