I have a Glock 31. I use it for open carry in the Great Smokey mountains national park. Love how light it is with great capacity. Lawman is best ammo for general use.

Had a really shit taurus chambered in .357 sig. Loved the round, hated the gun. Ended up selling the gun. Still like the round though.

Do you think the retarded micro stamping law will be repealed? I am legit concerned for the future of guns in Cali, I can't move away because of work yet every fucking gun I want isn't on the roster because of that shitty fucking law and I am so mad.

I'm from a fun friendly state. What the hell is micro stamping? Sounds like LSD.

Are you fucking stupid?
>>
>>34550998
I doubt it will be repealed, it's California.

>>34550998
The idea of microstamping is that there is a micro-embossed ID number on the firing pin or chamber that will stamp an ID on the brass and therefore help LEOs track the gun and gun owner. However, considering you can get rid of it with one swipe of a file, I think it's real purpose is to prevent guns from being sold in California, since some gun manufacturers won't want the hassle, and to increase the cost of gun to prevent people from buying them, particularly poor people.

Is the M308 considered an AR10? How does it compare to other AR10s (such as the SR-25 and M110) in terms of accuracy, effective range, durability, and reliability?

*MR308
>>
>>34550820
M110 is the military designation for the SR-25. They are (or can be) the same gun. I don't know what an M308 is. That's not a military designation or the name of a model of gun as far as I can find. Since you posted a picture of a Scar 17, I'm going to assume that's what you're talking about. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Bear in mind there are 2 variants of the Scar 17 that the military uses. The one you posted, the Mk. 17, and the Mk. 20 or SSR, which may or may not be fielded yet, I don't remember, and I don't know much about it. From what I've read though, the people in the military liked the Mk. 17 a lot. It gets 1 MOA or better accuracy, is very reliable, has same range as any other 7.62 out of a 16 inch barrel. Probably 700 yards or a little more if you're hot shit. The British were looking at it for the L129-A1 but decided on the MWS because the scar was too light which made follow up shots harder, or at least that's what forgotten weapons told me.

Personally, I've shot 2 different scars but I don't own any. I can say that they are light but they also recoil surprisingly light. Idk about max range because the farthest I shoot is 200 yards. I'd totally buy one if I could justify it though.
>>
I'm not sure what you're expecting, they're all moa-capable .308 rifles. Only real difference is reliability, since the SR25 has a horrid reputation shearing rifling after repeated mags (presumably fixed with the SASS revision) and the MR308 hasn't got a chromed barrel, which may or may not matter to you. Beyond that, a well kept zeroed SCAR with good ammo is going to perform on par with a well kept zeroed AR10 with good ammo, even a DPMS budget model.

Fuck I'm frustrated and confused as fuck help
>Don't own any guns of any kind
>House gets broken into and robbed one night
>Luckily wasn't home at the time
>Would have probably been murdered with nothing to defend myself if I was
>Immediately decide to save up and buy a shotgun
>Realize I'm banned from purchasing or owning a firearm because I took some pills as a """"suicide attempt"""" when I was 15 and was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital for a week
What the FUCK? Am I just completely shit out of luck for the rest of my life now all because of some attention seeking bullshit I did as a hormonal 15 year old? I've scoured google about the gun laws in my state and nearby states, specifically regarding mental hospital commitments, for something I can do but I haven't seen anything aside from one article about some schizophrenic guy going to court to regain his right to buy a gun and succeeding or some shit, which could be complete bullshit for all I know. Is there literally anything I can legally do to buy a long gun? Does anyone have experience buying a firearm after previously being in a mental hospital?

Rekt. Welcome to adult life, we have these things called "consequences". If you didn't want to permanently and negatively affect your life and the lives of those around you, why did you attempt suicide.
>inb4 "I was just 15, I didn't know better!"
If you didn't know by 15, you don't know now and you're not responsible enough to own a firearm.

A few weeks ago I visited my cousin Reid. Reid is a big collector with several NFA items and 100+ y.o. guns. I was awed and inspired, I even considered becoming a career politician to eventually repeal the Hughes Amendment (somewhat pragmatically) and the NFA (ideally).

Seeing and handling a great gun collection should reinvigorate and inspire, not demoralize. I have little access to guns from private sales and immediate family, I haven't even bought from an FFL yet. My father warned me not to catch the bug, but Reid told me it's more a gene. I intend to fully to inspire a young family member my age with a great collection when I'm older.

Does anyone have any info on how the AK front trunnions are machined? Looks like a fairly complex job, no wonder companies turn to casting them.

>>
>>34549914
Machinist fag here. That's a cast part that's finish machined. You could machine the whole thing but it would take a shit ton of fixtures and some specialty tooling.
>>
>>34549975
AK guy here
hey're forged not cast anywhere except the US
>>
there is nothing wrong with casting. assuming you use appropriate alloy, casting methods, and properly heat treat it.

in fact casting allows for better heat treating. resulting in better parts than forging.

While they may boast and pretend otherwise, the armies of the Turkroaches, Worst Korea and even Pissrael could take on and destroy any Europoor country (except Greece, Spain or Shitaly), or Australia and Canada, by themselves. These third world countries have more conventional equipment in tanks, artillery and carrier and men than the faggoty Western countries, who are exclusively homosexual light infantry. They would be destroyed in any war similar to the one fought in 1991 or 2003 (i.e. high intensity conventional operations)
