homeless aphonia/mutefag here, i've been running into people who want to mess with me just for being homeless (i live in kansas city on the missouri side so lots of basketball americans), my only solution so far has been to pull my 1911 and scare them off then promptly leave the area in case the police come by, but i want to learn some hand-to-hand techniques in case there isn't time for me to draw

can any /k/ommandos rec me some books or videos on basic hand-to-hand combat and combat with knives?

anything to do with 1911 training would be nice too, that's the only firearm i have right now other than a stashed AK

i will really truly appreciate any sincere/helpful posts

th-thanks in advance

I'm no expert but to be good at hand to hand combat you will actually have to train it. Like at least have a buddy to practice with.
Even if you read 10 books and shadow box for 100 hours you'll probably just throw haymakers when shit hits the fan.
That is my own experience anyway.

But to your question: Bas Rutten, the king of bar fights, has a lot of videos on youtube.

A rock/lock/battery in a bandana is cheap, inconspicuous and separated is not even a weapon

A few hard blows to the back/sides of the head will be enough to stop almost anyone, a few too many is enough to change their life

Serious question; how good or how bad is a nugget? Should i buy it for my 1.st weapon? Cost of bullets?

/k/, convince me to not spend an assload of money on either buying a pre-built M40 replica, or spend an assload of time on building a period correct one.

OK, do you have the ability to utilize a precision rifle, or the money and range facilities and willingness to seek training to learn how to do so?

No?

Buy something else, like case lots of ammo for your favorite pistol. Or take a shooting class.
>>
>>34560542
I would be willing to pour time into the rifle and become a great shot with it.

Also another reason I want one is because I live in a noguns country and it would be a reasonably modern replica of a rifle actually used in recent conflicts, that I can own, being a bolt action.

p.s. hab no pistols, is a huge fuckaround

I live in commiefornia and due to our pistol roster and FFL's all having different interpretations of it the only hope of getting a hi power here is to get a C&R eligible one (over 50 years old).

Are the mid to late 1960's hi powers just rare or something? I thought they would be more common but I can't seem to find anything other than a few 1968 and 69 hi powers which are just a year out of reach for me. However, I do see a lot of 70's hi powers. And when the 2020's roll around will those very late 60's/early 70's hi powers dry up?

What's /k/'s consensus on .32 caliber rounds?
Is stuff like .32 ACP, .32 S&W long and short still relevant in American gun culture?
I've heard positive stuff about .327 federal magnum

>>
>>34560194
It's a glorified pest round. About the most you can say for it is it's more powerful than a .22.
>>
>>34560205
So basically the next notch above .22 and .25 but right below .380
>>
>>34560229
Not even close.

Its a great round that doesn't have the following it deserves.

It's great because it offers a lot of power for the size, and would give an extra round to a j-frame.

Let's say Civil war breaks out tomorrow. What is the deal with special forces, like the navy seals for example?
Do they side with the government outright?
Would roughly 3/4 side with the people like the rest of the military is projected to in red team?
Would they be effective against the rebels?

>>
>>34559652
All depends on the context of the situation.
Antifa take over the San Francisco area? Probably side with the government.
The president bombs Houston for voting against him? Probably side with the rebels.

90% of Americans in this country's military would turn on the bureaucrats telling them to shoot their own people.

In America, people in the military aren't braindead followers like in other countries, at least most of them

I'm looking to upgrade my Springfield
XD
to something a bit more reliable. It was the first gun I ever bought, but it has had two catastrophic failures so far and I'm about done with it. I like the easy trigger pull and the ergonomics of the gun, and I want something similar. Thinking about upgrading to a Ruger or Sig, but I wanted to know what would be the best choice based on /k/'s experience. Maybe you can convince me that Glocks are worth buying despite being ugly as sin.

Pic unrelated, came in the mail today.

Fuck.

I think I loaded some rounds where the inside base of the brass wasn't completely dry so there may be some water residue in the case. Am I fucked? Pull/throw away the bullets?
16 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
How do you think you did that but not actually know? Did you load with your eyes closed?

Either way if you're literally loading wet brass you should stop immediately as your chances of killing yourself are incredibly high desu

So, are Corcoran Jump Boots still made well, or has their quality slipped recently? I seem to be getting some mixed messages from a few of the reviews out there.

On a similar tangent, is there any reliable source to get decent old-school surplus black combats anywhere? They've all but dried up wherever I've looked

I've got a pair of brown 10inch historical Jump boots I've been wearing for 2 years straight practically every day. Still got tread on the sole and comfy as fuck. I've taken them up mountains, over rivers and through SO MUCH MUD. The secret is to soak them then rub them with shaving cream to get the crappy plastic coating off the leather so you can put a real polish on them.
