Okay, let's settle this once and for all. .223 and 5.56 mm: how compatible are they? Is it possible to use 5.56 in a .223 civilian rifle? Is it unwise? Are the higher pressures bad for the rifle?
And the same question for .308 and 7.62 NATO.
>>34562226
5.56 in a 223 will blow it the fuck up and kill you and anyone in a 50ft radius
>>34562226
>how compatible are they?
Completely.
>Is it possible to use 5.56 in a .223 civilian rifle?
Yes.
>>34562238
>Is it unwise? Are the higher pressures bad for the rifle?
Just got this bad boy (used) yesterday. Putting 100ct Winchester white box through it on the range in a minute. How many malfunctions do you guys think I'll see? Slide fits tight, spring looks good not much hammer wear, bolt face clean etc
>>34562166
It's i citrus packed lemony Beretta 92fs knock off made by 3rd world Brazilian ass faggots. Just get the real deal.
>>34562207
Some day. I've been looking at getting a metal frame pistol for a while and 92fs would be my first choice. This was an impulse buy and a gamble.
You know they built it all on baretta equipment, technical drawings, and with their laborers? Bought the whole factory straight up.
I'll probably end up trading it towards a baretta once I get a better job. Traded an sd40 towards this
>>34562243
Ya dude i know, but you can't beat Beretta's quality control. Plus Beretta's main share holder is the Vatican church so like, deus vult!
Ah yes, the AK-47.
"Hitler's Buzzsaw" we used to call it.
1933 Tokearev with a modified >clip. Holds 23 rounds, so the ammo goes fast.
And don't go losing it, these are the only two in the whole world.
>>34562011
That's clearly twin Deagles you fucking idiot
here's my favorite, the uzi 9mm. famously used by jean claude van damme in Aliens
So /k/, say the day actually comes where you need to pop Jamal for trying to culturally appropriate your television one night. After the altercation is over you dutifully call 911, give your statement, and let the paramedics remove the baboon corpse from your house.
You end up needing to turn in the firearm you used in to the police as evidence
Is there any chance you'll be seeing that gun again?
If not, do you take this into account, and buy a cheaper carry/HD gun?
>>34561929
it really depends anon
what were the circumstances of the shooting?
do you have self defense insurance?
what state do you live in?
do you have castle doctrine?
is your locality made up of liberal faggots?
there's to many factors to consider.
>>34561929
It normally takes around a month to get it back, sometimes it gets stuck in red tape forever depending on how liberal the police are.
As for the second question, expensive guns are called safe queens for a reason.
>>34561929
It depends. You SHOULD get that gun back. It may or may not be in good condition when it's returned. However, it will take so long to get it back (years) that you really should replace it in the meantime; especially since the deceased may have had friends.
I want to turn my 5.56 Ak into an SBR can you guys recommend any companies?
>>34561885
Krebs Customs
Rifle Dynamic
>>34561885
You mean 5.45, right?....Right?
>>34561905
Yeah you're hilarious
Sorry if this the wrong board for this
I recently bought this world war 2 german spade. The actual spade part is still pretty robust, but the handle Is full of worm holes and also looks as if it hasn't been burned. So I want to make a new handle and put it on instead. How would I go about doing such a thing? I want to keep the old handle in case I want to sell it again.
Also, would be possible to clean the spade? Or should I just leave it as it is?
>>34561852
>go to hardware store
>buy shovel handle
>carve new handle
>???
>profit.
It's a tool meant to be used as a tool.
>>34561867
How would I go about removing these metal "screws" that keeps the spade to the handle?
The United States hasn't won a war in 72 years
Can we please go back to... you know... FIGHTING our enemies instead of caring about their fucking feelings and collateral damage?
>>34561836
Only way to wage war with zero backlash is to have a tight firm grip on the media like Putin during Chechnya
>>34561836
>democracy
>free speech
>winning
Pick two.
>>34562125
Who started the America is a democracy meme?
>be me
>rookie LEO headed home from work
>biking down a narrow road, downtown, lots of people
>black BMW comes straight at me, probably twice the speed limit
>no space for me to escape because of parked cars and narrow road
>perpetrator steers away at last second
>he turns his car because its a dead end
>i signalise him to stop
>he stops and immediately flips me
>i signalise him to roll down the window while I show him my badge and identify myself as an officer
>perpetrator, a male caucasian, most likely from Balkan, suddenly 'regrets everything' and begs on his knees
>two females in the car aswell, one in the passenger seat and on in the back
>Ask him for his drivers licence
>He does a half-assed search but comes up empty
>Ask him for his social security number and name
>I tell him that as long as he has a drivers licence he will get off with a warning
>He seems eager to drive off so I order him to hand over the keys
>He slams the pedal and heads off
>Call 911, they radio the plate number to all units but they come up short
What could I have done differently here? I don't want him to get out of the car. I'm in plain clothes, no vest, no weapon. Literally 1 out of 2 of these BMW-driving eastern europeans are armed and dangerous.
>>34561613
you can't CC when your plain clothes???
there's your first mistake retard.
>>34561618
No. Very few countries beside US allows CC.
I'm scandinavia
>>34561635
Even as a LEO?
That's dumb.
If you weren't armed why even approach. Just observe and report that shit or else you'll b ded
Is this a good purchase?
Thinking of getting pic related for target practicing and critter hunting if needed. Scopes for air rifles are also quite cheap so I will get one as well.
Also, what's better? CO2 cartridges or normal break action?
Pic related, It's a DIANA 350 Magnum.
You'll shoot your eye out.
Diana is a brand with a great history, I have an old model 22 handed down from my grandpa. I'm not sure if they make a fixed barrel model with a cocking lever on the bottom but that should be the most accurate and reliable. CO2 is a little easier for shooting/plinking overall since you have precompressed gas in stead of using a lever each time. Then again if you want to do precision shooting, the gas pressure, and thus your shot placement will drop.
>>34561579
Go with break action. They are more consistent with velocity and are self powered.
Admiral Gorshkov looks like THAT?

Truly an ugly ship
Russia did its people dishonor and shame when the selfish government decided to make their own ship and did not do the better option of buying Chinese. Now the Russian people must regret buying such an ugly ship and does not have enough armaments unlike the superior Chinese ships that has no analog anywhere in the world. Compare this so-called frigate to the great Type 055 of China. This waste of tax only has 16 multipurpose VLS and 32 Anti air VLS with a meager 120km range, while the Type 055 has 128 extra large super VLS. The Type 055 costs far far more cheaper than the Russian frigate. It is a waste of Russian manpower to build such inferior ships, if this so-called frigate meets an LCS in a hot environment, I wouldn't doubt the LCS's capabilities to sink this ship.
Looks pretty standard to me.
Dat 6" gun
Let's have a melee weapons thread.
Is this worth around 300 bucks? It's made by a blacksmith by hand.
Would it handle real abuse?
>>34561446
that handle looks like it would hurt, you need a more rounded end unless you're a veteran
>>34561446
>Is this worth around 300 bucks?
No.
>It's made by a blacksmith by hand.
Sweet, my GF bought me a handmade hatchet from a Scottfest, and she's miffed I don't use it as a bush axe. I shudder to think what she paid for it out of her niceness.
>Would it handle real abuse?
No, it's cool but it's for looks/neatneess.
>>34561460
So what's a good axe or similar blunt weapon?
Is there any anti-ship missile powerful to one shot a Nimitz class carrier?
Qualify 'one shot'.
An exocet could disable deck operations
A Granit could cause massive uncontrolled fires and power loss
A CS S-5 could break the keel and sink it.
>>34561402
One shot as in like turn in into scrap and make it sink in a few minutes.
>>34561387
A Granit with a nuclear warhead hitting the ship's nuclear powerplant or ammo storage might do it but it's close to impossible.
The most probable would be a superior DongFeng 10 super anti ship missile, since it's ballistic and comes at a 90 degree angle, it might just break the ship in two when it's travelling at an impressive Mach 15.
What does /k/ thinks of Archer ? He's pretty operator, right ?
Hes alright. Creators clearly put effort into depictions of weapons, but Vice and onwards is garbage.
>>34561353
Archer is a funny and over the top show
>>34561356
VICE was the best
I loved it until they started just referencing themselves and making samey jokes. The zeppelin episode is great.
How many round are you comfortable with for your EDC gun? Is a 5 shot revolver enough? Or do you feel the need to carry three 17 round mags with you?
>>34561025
Six bullets..
more than enough to kill anything that moves.
>>34561034
You better hope your aim is good enough.
5 shots in a 6 shooter, 25 in a cartridge belt.
How long is it supposed to take to clean a handgun? I just spent nearly 2 hours cleaning out a used .45 I bought at a gun show (don't think the last owner nor the vendor cleaned it before selling, alhough granted a chunk of that time spent was just figuring out how to take it apart and then put it back together) and just under 1 hour cleaning my 9mm
I put ~100 rounds through both at the range today, maybe a little less through the .45
Is this normal or am I fucking stupid?
>>34560945
Should take you that long only of you're doing a detailed strip and that's on certain guns only. A complete strip on a 1911 takes longer than on a glock for example.
normal. now if it was your tenth time to reassemble and it still took hours you are a retard.
>>34560945
A modern handgun should take 20-30min and occaisonally an hour or more for a detail clean.
