>The head of the French armed forces has quit after a clash with President Emmanuel Macron over budget cuts.
>Gen Pierre de Villiers said in a statement he could no longer "guarantee the durability of the army model" that he considered necessary to ensure France's protection.
>France's government last week revealed major cuts to bring its budget deficit below the level of an EU cap.
...
>Gen de Villiers, 60, was infuriated by an €850m ($975m; £752m) cut in the military spending budget for 2017. Most was to come from cuts to equipment.
>As part of that effort, the government has earmarked €850m in savings in military spending for the year. New equipment orders will be delayed or cancelled and the defence ministry is also being asked to take on the €1.3bn cost of foreign operations.

Germany will provide the army now :)

France surrenders again to foreign invaders, what's new?
>>34600623
HAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
Germany's military is in shambles after years of neglect and mismanagement. Their Defense Minister has said it would take a decade of 2 percent GDP spending to get it where it needs to be.
I don't know much about guns at all, but I'm very interested in them.
I want to learn more, but I have no fucking idea where to start.
Can somebody tell me some basics or at least point me to the right direction?

you claim it, you prove it. But you are so americanly retarded you didn't even claim something.
>Sig Sauer - Audi
Marked up shit that is actually inferior to real luxury brands, save for the most expensive models. Owners insist their products are as good as any other luxury company's.
>Walther - Mercedes Benz
Actual premium brand that has one of the longest histories of making luxury products, many of which are icons of the industry.
>HK - BMW
Has a handful of outstanding models, but is for the most part overrated and full of itself. That said, most are a pleasure to own and you join a cult by obligation.
>Glock - VW
???
Has anyone here thought about using a motorcycle as their SHTF or innawoods vehicle? They can access terrain that four wheelers can't and can get crazy range out of their gas tanks (300+ miles, even more with expanded tanks, 55mpg on highway/96mpg off it). You can put all the cargo you need in the boxes on the back. You can bring it onto the highway, back roads, and off road without modifying the motorcycle at all.
A dual sport like a KLR650 can be bought off the classifieds for $1000 and in my opinion is more capable/discrete than four wheeled vehicles. It has a single cylinder engine that will literally never break unless you try to break it. It has a carbuerator and 5 speed transmission, so it's kind a tractor engine though. The US military used the KLR for years.
A DS makes more sense than blowing money on an SUV (you can pull a trailer behind your car!) that can't go through single track.
>>34599775
the military has a multi-fuel version, i wonder if Kawasaki makes that version available to public? would be perfect for bout-out scenario
>>34599775
Using a carb'd vehicle when most of our fuel is ethanol blended and will be worthless in bikes in three weeks? Pass.
Get a bicycle. Powered by you, much simpler to fix, can be carried if need be, spares and tools needed are lighter and smaller, exercise which you will need, quieter, less likely to suffer serious injury due to a crash at increased speeds a motorcycle can obtain
Also a KLR for $1000 will be a shit heap that has serious safety issues. Hardly the most reliable engine either. Their stock thermostat design is flawed and definitely needs correction with a ThermoBob if you want the long engine life.
>>34599775
I had a WR250r a while back. It was a much better bike than the KLR. It is fuel injected, water cooled, and has a modern suspension. It would ride 2 up even with my big ass. It has a huge power band and and is much lighter than the KLR. I put 5000 woods miles on it in 3 months.
I could carry every bit as much gear on it as I could with my previous KLR. I frequently got 75mpg on the highway too.
Also, your post is wrong. Your mileage goes down on soft and uneven terrain. Your highway mileage will always be higher than not-highway.
Post some little pewpews. Derringers, mouse guns, snub noses, whatever you like.
>>34599713
Something about these guns gives me a weapons boner. They're not really practical or effective, but I just really enjoy them and their aesthetic.

Alright guys, I'm about to dimple my shit for the first time and I'm scared I'm going to muck it up and end up with an off-kilter gas block. I've marked where the dimples need to go on the barrel, and I still need to center punch the drill locations. I only have a hand drill and a crappy vise.
Got any last minute tips before I wing this? Should I go with one, two, or three dimples? Should I use red or blue Loctite?
Two, less to mess up and more than enough, blue is more than strong enough red is overkill.
>>34599640
Spin the gasblock upside down so you can align the gasport with one of the screws. With that done, use the gastube hole to line up and mark the centerline on the bottom of the barrel.
Spin it back around, flush up the shoulder and use the mark you made on the barrel to index the screw holes, mark the barrel through the screw holes, take off the block, dimple, then final install everything.
If you have it, Rocksett is the only threadlocker you should use on barrel components. Blue loctite will break down with the heat, red will be really hard to disassemble later if you need to.
>>34599712
>>34599669
Why wouldn't red loctite be preferable in this situation? It's not like you would get into trouble when it comes time to disassemble so as long as you're not being retarded with the blowtorch.
Wow, I am impressed. This "pistol" is just badass. Any of you have one? Do you like it??
