Pick your favorite of the two and explain why you like it.
Personally I always thought the rebel yell was spoopy after hearing it on a recording, and reading about Union soldiers getting jittery when they heard that shit coming out of a wood line. Not really sure it was effective on a combat scale but certaintly seemed to work for mind play. I think the other would be when Finnish troops would stick soviet soldiers upside down in the snow, really a dick move but fucking hilarious

Sometimes a reputation of some opposing army can be enough to make troops scatter. Like when the Brits invaded the Falklands, the Argentinian soldiers were told "They're sending their coke fueled Gurkha warriors, they're not afraid of death and charge at gunfire." This was supposed to make the Argentinian troops confident, but instead it scared the shit out of them and made them surrender. Another example of this is how the Aztecs would prefer to capture you alive instead of kill you so that way they can cut your abdomen open and rip out your still beating heart to sacrifice to Huitzilopochtli. As you could imagine, this would make the enemies not want to fight the Aztecs.

The eerie quiet of the spartan line was great and their platoon level organization keep them ahead until someone called their bluff
Operation Wandering Soul is spoopy
How can armoured reconnaissance even exist ? When I think of qualifiers to describe a tank, Stealthy is the last to come to my mind.

Little tank sneakier than BIG TANK, so goes to find bad tanks for BIG TANK to BTFO...
>>35116587
Well anon, I've got bad news for you. Men on foot can't go as fast as tanks, so if you have a tank formation, you can't scout with men on foot!
Shocking, but true.
Also, in the 1980s sensors and communications weren't full panopticon like today.
For your EDC how to do carry it/ conceal it?
Holsters thread.
AGH Cloak tuck 3.0 at 3-4 o'clock.
Personally, I would never use the holster in the OP's image.
Would rather carry a .380 in a pocket holster than a larger pistol in that weird pull-pouch.
I esc a Ruger mkII in a shoulder holster

Hey /k/,
I've been jostling this thought around my head for awhile now, but I can't seem to come to a conclusion.
What exactly makes one rifle more accurate than another? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the bullet, barrel length and rifling pattern stay the same, shouldn't the accuracy be the same as well? What makes an AK more accurate than an SKS? What makes a Macmillan Tac-50 more accurate than other 50 cal bolt actions?
random things touching the barrel degrade accuracy (for example if you have a non free float rail and rest it against something it can slighltly shift the point of impact). Thats just part of it though.
>>35116548
What this >>35116576 anon said, as well as wind, humidity, rifling of the barrel by 1/64th of an inch compared to another, rain, snow, sunshine, shakeyness of the shooter, difference in height from one iron sight to another, not to mention the round itself. The round has powder just ever so slightley off from one another, especially in hand loads. Factory rounds are a little less likely to be different, but every nanoinch or grain of gunpowder that is off from another could mean the difference of an inch to a foot in one direction or another.
Its also a combination of all these things that make an SKS apart from an AK-107 in terms of accuracy.

99% of it is about consistency. Does the rifles action lock exactly the same way every single time? Does it chamber the round the same way every time? Is the chamber "tight"? Does the trigger behave the same way every time? Is the scope mounted on a completely secure surface that wont shift at all during firing?
Is it worth it for SHTF or is it best left for fun with friends?
>>35116536
surplus NODs like that are just for fun. That big black thing is an IR illuminator since the goggles themselves are passive. It makes them fun to play with, but anyone else with NODs will see the beam and you'll look like a Christmas tree. They're also like 0.5 gen and pretty useless for anything besides observation or sitting in a tank.
any suggestions on a more worthwhile set of goggles?
Anything below Gen 2 can generally be considered a toy.
So we all know American police departments hands are tied when dealing with certain groups.
How does every other police department deal with their own problem groups? Do smartphones and cameras make them shrivel up? Are they allowed to use military equipment without a bunch of whinos complaining on their blogs?
>>35116391
In Japan the only problem groups are foreigners in Tokyo mainly, but they know that unless they are citizens they are here are borrowed time anyway so most don't get rowdy.
Smartphones and cameras were never an issue since they've been around for a while. Honestly if you're doing something you shouldn't, a camera shouldn't be the concern.
>Are they allowed to use military equipment without a bunch of whinos complaining on their blogs?
There's a special team for that since regular officers have little need for a gun on a regular day, though when I was there they had us all carry revolvers in case, don't know if that has changed now. They train you more in martial arts and how to arrest someone or restrain someone physically than how to kill. I understand in US law enforcement it is much different, but in Japan people aren't as stupid to throw their lives away.
China knows what groups are a problem and doesn't have a need to appeal to political correctness. This is the most efficient way of handling crime-prone populations.

well rafale still exists so yeah its shit
>>35116737
The Rafale, the aircraft so good not a single Western nation has bought it.
Bolt work was minor, reaming the chamber was silly easy. Enlarging the receiver and adding a feed ramp was hell tho. Put 100rds through it today with no FTF, but a few FTE. Gotta work on the ejector.
