In Atonement 2007, Dunkirk was a crowded beach filled with scattered men, horses, fortifications and scores of abandoned vehicles and equipment. Meanwhile in Dunkirk 2017, the beach is mostly empty, with rows of men stranding in single file and few if any vehicles and no fortifications beyond the city proper.
These separate depictions of the exact same scene are so radically different that one of them must be completely inaccurate compared to the other.
So which is it?
>>34622885
Just look up how many people escaped and how long they did it in. Make up your own mind. Don't let hollywood tell you.
Both? Dunkirk isn't one beach, its a big 6 mile stretch of land comprising of like 3 separate beaches. Not everyone got off in the same place.

Is it available to the consumer market?
>>34622882
There isn't
>>34622882
We talking DMR, or sniping? Because the ACOG is perfectly adequate for DMR use.
Sniping
You fucked up as kid and bought a few of these when you were younger, didn't you?
>>34622828
I got legit throwing knives, none of that Kunai type ones.
>>34622831
This. We basically played darts with them.
I didn't have money until I was 20 something and I still bought em
So apparently they're trying to piggy back in the hearing protection act as part of a larger "hunting and fishing" bill. This could be it guys that'd be awesome if it passed.

Hi /k/
What are the most advanced (high quality materials, technology) commercially available, Pistols and Rifles ?
a brand named Taurus
>>34622680
The SCAR 17s, after you've spent thousands unfucking it with the SR25-compatible lower, new buffer plate and less pencilly barrel, is theoretically the best .308 on the market. Though you could just buy an AR10.
The RBD is the the most advanced bullpup on the market, but that's not really saying much. Its just a culmination of a number of individual improvements from half a century of preceding designs.
Represent /k/ on the battlefield with fresh embroidered memes.

Are you aware why that particular state has that particular face?
Why dont the Russians work to perfect these things rather than waste time on PAK-50 trash?
Seriously: Better made engines, Improved AESA radar systems and BVRAAM missiles a plenty, could probably make the Mig-25 their most effective air asset?
>>34622500
It's the russian HAPPYPLANE
>>34622500
Without stealth it would need some seriously hardcore radar tech that could burn through current stealth to have a chance of surviving.
>>34622513
Fair enough, But wouldn't the combined radar output of say, three of them theoretically detect and lock an enemy aircraft
Anyone here ever use one of these on a gen 4 glock?
Seller says it works with slight modification.
looks like a claw machine game where you try to pick up a glock
>>34622411
Yup was wondering if it adds any utility.
>>34622400
Say goodbye to your dog, OP.
Any other decent holographic sights out there? It turns out that they actually look fine for me if I wear polarized shooting glasses (tfw astigmatism) unlike red dots. I've just heard mixed things about reliability, battery life, and the manufacturers being a bunch of dishonest shitheads with this specific optic.
>>34622397
Bump?
Vortex is coming out with a new one pretty soon that looks really badass.
>>34622846
It's allegedly out, but I haven't seen any reviews yet.
Do these have applicable purpose in any imaginable scenario on a modern battlefield or anywhere else?
will we ever see a comeback of the bow and arrow?
>>34622395
They're very quite, even a suppressed gun is quite loud by comparison. I guess there could be a scenario where a suppressed rifle or pistol wouldn't be quite enough.

no. I guess if you really wanted to kill someone quietly. Even then they could scream if you fuck up.

"AAAAAAHHHHH I JUST GOT SHOT BY AN ARROW HELP HELP HELP"
-Sentry
I've been giving some thought to this recently and I wanted some other opinions from people who could actually give good answers.
Why is war so interesting, so beautiful to study and to learn about? Why, for the violence enthusiasts of /k/, is war cool?
Dangerous things always have and always will be cool.
Devices that give the wielder power will always be fascinating and interesting.
In addition, there are also mechanical and historical aspects.
>>34622112
>studying war means you want it to happen more
If anything it will help keep them from happening
artistically and culturally combat is the single greatest "game". It involves every sense and skill and has the most serious penalty for loss.
World war 2 is probably the most important thing to happen within the last human lifetime.
Finally and most importantly what are the only actual "adventurers" to exist? Explorers and warriors. Not much exploring left today, all the adventure is left for warriors.
What are the some /k/ books? What are you reading?

>What are the some /k/ books?
Reality (or claimed to be):
Dear Mom: A sniper's Vietnam - Good
Chickenhawk (slick pilot) - Very good & sad
Making a killing (awesome PMC adventures) - Extremely recommended
Escape from Baghdad (PMC adventures the sequel) - Decent, not special
A long way gone (child soldierin') - Decent
The forgotten soldier - Timeless operator classic, must read
Storm of steel - Timeless operator classic, must read
SOG (americans owning & getting owned) - Educational
Acceptable loss (more Vietnam LRRP & Blue Apaches) - Good
Shake hands with the devil (UN ROE suck balls) - Educational
On war - Educational but overhyped
War is a racket - Interesting
The art of war - Classic, but mostly blatantly obvious
Fiction:
The dogs of war - Timeless classic, must read
Roadside picnic - Get out of here, stalker
I am Legend - Decent classic
Catch-22 - Timeless operator classic, must read
Brave new world - Timeless classic, must read
1984 - Timeless classic, must read
Animal Farm - Timeless classic, must read
The road - Decent, but hugely overhyped
Slapstick - Decent, but meh
Extremely loud & incredibly close - Decent, but meh
A canticle for Liebowitz - If post-apoc is your thing
The name of the rose - Classic
As for the hard scifi pile in the pic, read it all, you won't be disappointed. Start with Douglas Adams, then go to Heinlein, transition to Haldeman/Scalzi & go back for PKD.
>What are you reading?
I just bought:
George Orwell's Homage To Catalonia
James Mahaffey's Atomic Accidents
Finishing up Stephen King's The Stand uncut. Bitch is over a thousand pages.
You ever take a break from your guns /k/? Just take a break from reading about guns, browsing /k/, going to the range, and just put the guns in the closet and forget about them for a couple of months?
That's the stage I'm at right now, I just don't give a shit about my guns or going to the range or shooting. Maybe I'll get back into guns in a month, maybe not, but right now I've had enough
anyone know this feel? maybe im just burned out... i'm not even sure why im posting this here I havent browsed /k/ in a while
I think it is normal to take a break from your hobbies. It helps you re-appreciate them all over again later.
dunno i am pretty indifferent about guns, i love aircraft
i take breaks too because i also love a lot of other things like literature and chatting on the internet
dumb frogposter
This is what power looks like.
I don't know why countries don't make anti-ship ships. They are all anti air or anti submarine. The u.s makes sense because it has 10 air craft carriers. Russia seems the only country to have anti-ship ships. Most western ships just have 8 harpoons bolted on.
>>34622051
They do, they tend to be submarines.
We do they're called Arleigh Burke guided missile destroyers
Konnichiwa, /K/
Fucking Samurai took all my weapons yesterday. I have some old kamas and some chain laying around.
Are flying kamas a meme? Or can I actually use them for farm defense?
Thanks in advance.
