Nabbed a very good condition Luger recently, and I'm having a son-of-a-bitch of a time dating this thing. It's got DWM marks on the toggle, nothing on the chamber, and a strange series of stamps on the receiver. I haven't been able to pin anything specific down. Maybe a fellow /k/ommando could help.
It's probably a parts gun.
Even if it is a parts gun OP, it's still cool as fuck.
so i have a question for /k/
on youtube and other platforms there has been a rising genre coming out related around A E S T H E T I C S over fighter jets and the cold war and i wanted to know your guys opinions on it

Need to get a small caliber rifle for small/medium game and general rec
Ideally I want to be able to to use it for fox and yote's but will most likely mainly used for squirrel and rabbit
What would be best with cheap rounds and won't just explode squirrels if I want to eat one or ruin a small fox hide?
Where the best place to find a cheap used gun?
.22 and .17hmr too small?
22-250, .223 too big?
.17wms, .22 mag, .22 hornet?
>>34746144
.17HMR will kill coyote just fine. It'll detonate squirrels though.
>>34746186
What's the best place to buy inexpensive or used rifles?
>>34746144
22lr subsonic for closer shots standard for anything past 50m honestly you are on air rifle territory
which forge is best forge edition

stops copies me
3000 bucks for a firearm that is no more reliable than a AR (especially from manufacturers like POF or Daniel Defense) has zero versatility, and at the end of the day does the exact same thing the AR and AK platform accomplished years ago, firing the .223 bullet accurately up to 300 yards with iron sites. The only purpose they seem to serve is making their operator feel like they're fighting the BUGS in Starship Troopers. Same with the SAR 21, same with KRISS Vector (technically a sub gun, I know).
To top it all off the SCAR is aesthetically challenged at best, or, more likely, was inspired by the idiotic scribbles that toddlers create when they're trying to draw a picture that parents have to pretend to be proud of. It's wretched to look at. Even Glocks, which suffer badly in the aesthetic department, manage to look like beautiful works of art next to a SCAR.
Stop supporting this abomination with your hard earned money. Instead go buy a 500 dollar AR and 8000 rounds of Wolf Gold (for the same money) or buy a mid range lower, a POF upper, and 5000 rounds of steel ammo and you'll still be better off.

Sage report and move on
>>34746029
>wahhh spend your money the way i say you should waaaahhhhh
Fuck off.
>>34746029
I didn't know .308 was a fired a .223 bullet.
Does anyone know how the war on ISIS in the Philippines is being conducted? Particularly in the jungle, considering how fucked up it can be.
>>34746021
Because ISIS is the new Khmer Rouge, with Philippines acting as Vietnam in this case.
>>34746082
Well, there is a difference in that it's Filipino forces fighting ISIS, not foreign forces that had no knowledge of the land as was the case in Vietnam.
Right now the bulk of the fighting is contained to the southern islands, particularly Mindanao (though some shit pops off on some of the smaller islands regularly). ISIS in the Philippines consists mainly of pre-existing Islamic Secessionist groups pledging loyalty to the Islamic State, though according to reports of some of the dead in Marawi there are a couple foreign jihadists that have come over (probably in a training capacity). The situation is further complicated because certain groups such as the MNLF are still running around and not acknowledging the Maute/ISIS group while still waging war against the government. Also the NPA gommies still raise hell from time to time.
As for how the war is conducted, it usually involves PH military sweeps through contested areas with the big clashes coming when every once in a while some Islamic group or another tries to take a major city. A few years ago it was Zamboanga, now its Marawi. The PH military/Law Enforcement has had mixed results in the war, they successfully fucked up the muzzies trying to take Zamboanga but during the same time there was a major ambush against a special Police unit that killed about 40 guys. Now in Marawi ISIS/Maute have gotten a lot more aggressive so its a lot of urban combat with the PH military slowly making inroads. Hopefully this provides some valuable combat experience for Philippine security forces for future confrontations.

Are open bolt weapons that easy to make automatic? Just trying to figure out the atf decision to stop new production ones.
>>34745888
If you do some basic thinking on how they work, you'll see why they're so damn easy to convert.
>>34745922
And for the less mechanically inclined of us?
>>34745991
You literally just remove the trigger disconnect.
Does anyone on /k/ hike with their rifles? Any experiences worth mentioning about encountering people on trails?
I'm considering carrying a rifle on a 40 mile three day hike in a legal open carry state with a couple buddies who are also planning on carrying rifles. There's no question of legality, but I'm wondering how much attention it might attract.
>>34745882
Its probally one of my favorite things to do.
>>34745882
If you're ass deep in the woods, why not?
>>34745882
Some would call it hunting. Might look into how you can make sure you don't get in trouble for hunting out of season.
hello, /k/.
i was browsing some archives in search of a vector/svg file for the rhodesian foreign legion, in order to make wallpapers, propaganda posters, shirts etc and found this thread confirming the existance of the file.
since i can't find it myself, does anyone here happen to have it? the zippyshare expired long ago.
thanks in advance.
the patch in question, by the way.
I'm going to start posting my /k/ wallpapers.

You have been assigned the job of Planetary Protection Officer. It only pays $124,406 and $187,000 per year but you get to protect your planet.
What is your weapon of choice to protect the planet? How do you remove xenoscum?

Nuclear powered electro-magnetic rail guns orbiting earth.
>>34745618
A two-tone black and white AR with coil assisted propulsion(capacitors in the stock and coils under the handguard and a smart-link scope. Probably some cool heatsinks or ventable coolant fluid if I am going to be firing in vacuum.
Space suit also has motors to assist with kicking around and stabilizing the weapon so I can line up longer shots than normally humanly possible.

Drones
A shit ton of drones and a Dyson-nicoll beam.
Redpill me on missile defense.
>Could the U.S. intercept a missile fired at Los Angeles?
>What about a swarm of missiles?
>How many could the U.S. intercept?
>What does the U.S. have at its disposal for the task?
And go.
If one nork missile touches the US, they will get their shit pushed in in ways that they could never imagine.
>>34745593
Nuclear deterence is wonky.
Everyone likes to pretend we practice mutually assured destruction but if anyone ever actually launched nukes there'd be no real destruction because countermeasure technology has come along to nip that kind of thing in the bud. That is, detonate the missiles over ocean bodies. So all nuclear nations act like it's still a thing that we'll blow ourselves up over that kind of thing, only to find it ineffectual and we'll settle down and go back to proxy wars.
We'll likely never get to that point though unless some whackasses who don't understand this actually do it in a fit of fanatical fervor.
>>34745593
>>Could the U.S. intercept a missile fired at Los Angeles?
Yes. Its possible.
>>What about a swarm of missiles?
Probably not all of them if the swarm had enough.
>>How many could the U.S. intercept?
Hard to say. Depends on exact trajectory, make up of the threat cloud, things like that.
Probably less than 10. Likely 5 or fewer.
>>What does the U.S. have at its disposal for the task?
GBI is really the only game in town to stop ICBMs. THAAD cant really hit ICBM RVs.
Hey /k/.
How does the PLA stand in comparison with other militaries? I won't include the us military, because no matter how attached you are to your country, you can't deny the us is miles wide ahead of anybody else.
Is the PLA a paper tiger or a competent military when compared to other nations?
hopefully we get to watch them push India's shit in on liveleak soon
>>34746792
>implying
India would wipe the floor with the chinks in every way possible. They have better equipment, logistics, training, morale and they have actual experience. China wouldn't stand a chance against India in any type of war.
