Why do people buy expensive air rifles when they can be outperformed in every way by a 22lr? This thing costs 1700 dollars and im just thinking to myself what kind of real guns I could buy with that money. Besides being a britcuck why would any American buy this?
To be honest I would love to have an effective air rifle that performs similarly to a firearm.
Like a modern semi-auto version of the girandoni air rifle

My neighbors live far enough away I can shoot squirrels out of trees with a pellet gun safely. With a .22 I might arc one down on their car or something.
>>34753188
A lot of shooting competitions use only air rifles. You can shoot them in your backyard and usually nobody cares. I mean what good is owning a 1000+$ firearm when you can't even shoot it but 3 - 4 times a year because the closest range is an hour away, whereas with an air rifle you could shoot it year round all day long. Granted I don't think I'd spend more than 400 on an air rifle, but if you're using it for hunting you might want one like in the OP.
Though technically it's still illegal to shoot an air rifle in your backyard, nobody cares.
When will 9mm faggots graduate to a superior caliber like the 10mm? 10mm makes far bigger holes, it can stop a fucking Grizzly Bear with one shot.
The 9mm is for pussy limpwristed nu-males, spic manlets, leftists, and women.
>m-muh recoil and weight
Learn to fucking shoot. Start lifting weights. The recoil on the 10mm is exaggerated by weak-wristed faggots.
>muh capacity
I don't need to magdump 20 rounds when the kinetic energy, penetration and wounding potential are all higher on a 10mm.
>muh cost
Stop working a shitty minimum-wage job. The 10mm is easily affordable with any semi-decent occupation.
If you cannot shoot 10mm you should not be owning a gun, period. Stick to a fucking airgun.
>>34753157
I unironically think 10mm is a viable carry round and that the G29 in particular is a good carry option, but you make us sound like fags.
Why not point out that 10mm glocks can shoot .40 for practice without modification?
>>34753157
But you dont own any guns
>>34753157
When will 10mm faggots graduate to a superior caliber like the 9mm? 9mm is far more available and easier to follow up with, regardless of how 'strong' you are.
>The 9mm is for pussy limpwristed nu-males, spic manlets, leftists, and women.
The 10mm is for overcompensating tiny dicked chads, mall ninjas, faggots and women obsessed with tiny little dildos.
>>m-muh stopping powah and weight
Learn to fucking shoot. The 'power' of the 10mm is exaggerated by neckbeards who can't actually be bothered to train. If you're lifting weights to be better with 10mm, then you're better with 9mm, too.
>>muh capacity kinetic energy, penetration and wounding potential
Start practicing how to actually hit things. A hit with a 9mm is better than a miss from a 10mm. Learning shot placement means caliber is irrelevant.
>>muh cost
Stop trying to show off how much you make, especially when it's not that much. A real richfag is using a Sig or a custom, while you're running around with the gun equivalent of a Lorex watch.
>If you cannot shoot 9mm you should not be owning a gun, period. Stick to finger fucking airguns.
Feels like its time for another lovely /k/ art and pictures thread. And as always:

Quick, I need that comic strip of IFV development pls.
The one that starts with infantry, goes to trucks ("But those couldnt follow tanks") etc.

They must have the same card processor as AKbuilder. I've had two cards fucked with.
Bought my upper and lower from them like a mont apart, no problems. Just make sure your credit company will fix fraudulent charges.

Have they still not fixed this?
Can one aim properly with folding/collapsible/wire stocks with no cheek piece?
Same way you do anything else. As long as the butt is pulled tight into your shoulder, a cheekweld isn't really necessary, its just for quality of life.
>>34752658
Yeah? You'll just have a slower sight picture acquisition and the difference in your groups will be similar to the difference between off hand shooting and shooting standing up but on a rest/cover.
>>34752812
I meant shooting off hand using the sling to tighten up.
Germany is leading Europe in military matters. And despite all the American and British vitriol, Europe has military capabilities. And Germany is actually investing more money into its military, while Britain and America are cutting military funds.
Yeah, gotta defend all that kebab.

Germans have always been known for quality above quantity.
German tanks and weaponry is known for it's reliability, firepower and general strenght.
Half-mongols cannot compete with the German master race.
what's the best single stack 9mm?
>>34752491
Ive been a fan of my m&p shield
Put at least a thousand rounds through it without a single issue
>>34752491
Why would you want one? The chief reason why people buy 9mm guns is for capacity. If you get one that's single stack, you're defeating the very purpose of 9mm. If you want a 1911, just get one in the cartridge that it was designed for: 45 ACP.
>>34752548
I'm cuckifornian
When you go and buy a hammer, you're buying a tool, something to do a job as easily and efficiently as possible. When you buy a gun, on the other hand, you're buying something else, something much more abstract. You're buying an image. People buy guns not for what those guns do, but for how they make them FEEL. This is why we have stereotypes about people based on what guns they own. It's also why people pay so much for certain guns and not others.
>>34752447
Well some guns are more reliable and better than others, it's not 100% looks like you say.
>>34752475
Function is part of it. I never said it was 100% subjective bullshit, but you can't deny that people make irrational purchasing decisions that have led to entire sub-industries within the gun biz. For example, 99% of hunters will NEVER need the increased range and power of a magnum rifle cartridge, yet 300 Win mag is on the shelves of every gun store in America. The AR is a decent rifle, but it's not different enough from other 223s to fully explain the zeal of AR consumers. The model 29 was never a really good handgun--it simply had too much recoil to be useful to anybody but a bear hunter--but they flew off the shelves after Dirty Harry came out. I'm as big a Clint fan as anybody, but movies are make-believe. They are abstractions.
>>34752530
You're right that they get hyped but that's how like everything is, everything, food, cars, tv, clothes, etc
It's all just popularity and wanting to be cool or non cool (contrarian)
Hey /k/, I got a question for you guys. I'm a gun owner and I love self defense, however in the recent months I have gotten into scuba-diving and I want to know how to protect myself from ebil sharks. I had a close encounter with a few squids and turtles, and it got me thinking. What if it was a shark?
Guns would be ineffective as the bullet would drop flat after a foot or two, and harpoons are fuck huge and unwieldy. I already have a knife but would be interested in a more effective line of defense for when I go diving in areas with potential shark presence.

A cage
But in reality, if you're not in a cage or a self-enclosed sub, jack shit cause humans ain't made for underwater fighting. The closest thing available are specialized guns made specifically for underwater usage, those do exist.
Just go buy an APS, fuck sharks
>>34752403
> I already have a knife but would be interested in a more effective line of defense for when I go diving in areas with potential shark presence.
Then dive in a cage.
>inb4 no
Then just accept that you are not going to win a fight with a fucking shark on his home turf.
6 inch barrel vs 4 inch
How and why - go
>>34751924
6 inch barrel for high velocity calibers where performance is an absolute must.
4 inch barrel if you want to carry without a crossdraw holster.
if the frame is already fucking huge might as well get a longer barrel
>>34751924
6 inch for .44
4 inch for .357
