Mossberg 930 JM Pro Tactical Class built for 3 gun I would like to sell. Has been broken in with buckshot and birdshot and cycles well. Asking $550 for it. Hit me up at my email if you want to ask questions or want better pics.
I've shared with you once before, but I'll share again in an effort to spread awareness in your ammo purchases.
Basically, the premise to this thread is what happens when you push cheap plated FMJ in certain calibers to full performance, SAAMI safe though, into gel and nothing more.
Notice how thin platings can't handle maximum spec'd loads, true jacketed performs much better.
One of these lost a chunk.
Notice the deformation. Structural failure, the soft lead still smooshed underneath
The .45 Colt did really well actually, at a bumbling 950fps.
45 Colt doesn't need +P to penetrate a shit ton
Best rimfire semi-auto rifle that can easily accept a pistol grip? Budget of like $350 to start, for basic rifle with standard stock. Used is OK. Basically, Im in Connecticut, and we cant have removable magazine centerfire semi-auto rifles here with a pistol grip. The F17 is probably the single best, but way out of budget. I like the customizability of the 10/22, but I kinda want something a little more powerful. So that leaves things like Savage A22 and Remington 597. Also, should I go with 22 WMR instead of 17 HMR?
I might just stick with 10/22 in 22LR and build something like pic related, but a little more power would be nice
>>34670238
Great platform for a DIY project, I too want to make a stock for my 10/22. I want a VSS Vintorez style stock
>>34670266
Yeah. the discontinued magnum variants are ultra expensive though. I can get a magnum 597 for only a little more, but their customizability seems shit. Was thinking a 597 VTR might be a good idea though
specifically hand guns
which has the most safety mechanisms on it.
personally I don't like the 1911.
it has thumb safety, grip safety and most of the guns come with a heavy trigger pull.
ITT: ridiculous safety mechanisms
Alrighty guys.
I've been thinking about us, and while many of you would probably gladly put forth pre-made songs for our theme song, I thought it would be best if we made our own.
Or, at least, gave our song its own lyrics.
I present to you one of the best commercial tunes of all time.

Make it happen, folks.
What do YOU love about /k/?
Also, AUG variants because /k/.
>>34669727
I love short barrels!
>>34670305
I love the long ones too!
Added two new guns to the collection:
>Ruger 10/22 BD Bull Barrel
>Remington 870 Tac14
What does you guys think?
>>34669340
Pretty nice anon, I perfer mossbergs but there's no big difference. I wish I got my 10/22 with a bull barrel though, so, jelly.
>>34669360
Thanks bud.
I put quite a big of $ in to it, probably more than /k/ would approve, but it makes me happy having such a nice rifle.
>Magpul stock
>Single Point sling mount
>Upgraded Ruger trigger group
>Large matte black bolt handle
>Red dot
I freaking love this thing.
And the 870 is brand new, havent shot it yet. I plan on putting a side saddle to hold more shells, as well as a light on the pump.
>>34669423
The magpul stock is really nice, I didnt realize how much I hated the stock stock until I got my hands on one. And that bolt handle is sexy af with it, I just might have to get me one. How's the upgraded trigger group though? I think the stock trigger is pretty alright, would you say it was worth it?
I'm hoping the HPA passes and I can fix my lack of a bull barrel with one of those integrally suppressed barrels. Makes my dick so hard.
Its really hard to go wrong with the shotty, not a fan of most light forearms that I've seen, but its not my gun either and its useful for sure. That going to be your HD gun?
I like guns but for some reason I don't like pistols, what's wrong with me /k/?
>>34668985
>what's wrong with me
You're a fudd
https://www.firearmspolicy.org/dc_appeals_court_strikes_down_d_c_good_cause_handgun_cary_ban
>So if Heller I dictates a certain treatment of “total bans” on Second Amendment rights, that treatment must apply to total bans on carrying (or possession) by ordinarily situated individuals covered by the Amendment.
>This point brings into focus the legally decisive fact: the good-reason law is necessarily a total ban on most D.C. residents’ right to carry a gun in the face of ordinary self-defense needs, where these residents are no more dangerous with a gun than the next law-abiding citizen.
>We are bound to leave the District as much space to regulate as the Constitution allows—but no more. Just so, our opinion does little more than trace the boundaries laid in 1791 and flagged in Heller I. And the resulting decision rests on a rule so narrow that good-reason laws seem almost uniquely designed to defy it: that the law-abiding citizen’s right to bear common arms must enable the typical citizen to carry a gun.
This is great. This will can cause a difference of ruling between the Cali circuit and the DC circuit, which will require SCOTUS intervention. If they don't take the case, at the very least DC will have its may issue brought down. If they do take the case, they run the risk of failing to vacate may-issue carry bans across the country.
Regardless, this is a good thing.
Does this mean places like NY can't use the good cause clause to bar Conceal Carry?
So basically every state should become shall issue, now, or be taken to court?
>>34669174
Basically, it will end up like that. Either you allow open carry without concealed (not happening in liberal areas), shall issue a license for concealed and ban open (more likely), or just say fuck it and go full constitutional carry.
Essentially, you cannot restrict people from taking firearms out of their homes. You can restrict the manner and place at which they do it (restrict open or concealed, but not both. You can require a license but cannot make it may issue. You can restrict place of carry, like schools or court houses.).
Is a Level III retention holster pointless for civilians? I need a light-bearing holster and there's some cheap Safariland 6360 police trade-ins on Ebay. I figure I can just keep the hood down for quicker draws. I can also use it with all of my Safariland QD mounts which is nice.
Not useless, because it could always protect from somebody trying to grab your shit. I think everyone who OCs should use a retention holster. At the very least, it also prevents your gun from coming out should something happen like getting shoved, falling down, taking a tumble down a hill, etc. That's definitely useful, though doesn't really require a level 3 to do.
>>34668755
If it's useful for cops then it's useful for me.
Duty style retention holsters are only worthwhile if you OC around other people and are concerned about somebody trying to snatch it.
If you're not a cop, armed security, or armored truck crew and you're OCing anywhere outside of the middle of nowhere, you're cancer and need to CC instead.

I am looking to get a Yugoslavian M48 Mauser, but I've never bought a military surplus rifle, or any dated rifle for that matter. What should a buyer focus on when looking for an older rifle?
I assume excessive pitting, poor bore/rifling quality, loose action and obvious stock damage would be the big ones, but anything else I should be mindful of?
>>34668607
Matching serial numbers, accessories included (bayonet, cleaning rod, sling, etc.) and replaced parts come to mind as things to look out for.
>>34668607
When buying an m48 know that there are essentially 4 models. There is the m48, m48a, m48b (still designated a on the receiver ring), and m48 bo. The m48a took on stampings in order to cheapen the production of the rifle, the m48b takes this further, and the BO is unmarked, essentially an unmarked a or b. The A has a stamped floor plate and trigger guard, the B a welded H ring and stamped floor plate and trigger guard. The regular m48 is all milled. The stocks also vary. Try to get one stocked in elm as the yugo beech they used seems like it dings easily. Trench art is usually indicative of some service in the balkan conflicts in the 90's.
>>34668698
>>34668687
Thanks! Any idea what a reasonable price for an M48 in good condition would be?
My old computer died and I need to restart my collection of war trains.
Let's begin at the beginning.
How trustworthy is Gunbroker? I mean on the whole return policy, FFL and privacy. Are deals done directly with the seller or does it go through gunbroker? I was going to register, but it asked me to pay $1.00 to register my email address, thought it was a gimmick so I backed out.
Any /k/omandos have expierience with gunbroker?
Pic possibly related.
>>34667818
Never had any issues. Make sure you buy from a brick and mortar store or dealer and only pay by debit or credit card. You should be fine.
I've got two guns off it so far, haven't had any issues. Just be sure to read all the details on each gun before you bid.
>>34667818
>I was going to register, but it asked me to pay $1.00 to register my email address, thought it was a gimmick so I backed out.
When I signed up several years ago, I just used my University E-mail. It was free then. You only have to pay a $1 if they can't automatically verify you.
As for your pic, if you want something like that you need to do a lot of research and get to know some advanced collectors.
I've looked at all the other "top" companies but no one comes close to Albion in terms of accuracy and finish (easy giveaway is the space between the guard and the blade). Why are Albions so damn expensive?
Also which one would you get if you can pick one?
>>34667759
>Why are Albions so damn expensive?
I think you answered your own question. The eastern euros have some great smiths as well, equal to Albion but using different methods to make their swords.
The other reason Albions are expensive is that they are made in America. Lots of little costs that add up.
>Also which one would you get if you can pick one?
I got an Albion, but I'd have been happy with plenty of other options (like the E.Euro smiths I mentioned above).
Is that game dead? Just checked their website and the last update was in 2015. What happened?
>>34667669
Nothing, unfortunately.
If North Korea decides to get all uppity, what should President Trump do to put them down for good? Realistically how much of a fight can they put up if Trump takes the gloves off?
Here's a better scenario: if china stopped existing, and the US (in a surprise attack) throws metric fuckton of nukes in every single square meter, would the norks be able to retaliate?
>>34667203
>implying we need to fear china
>implying we need nukes
If China starts shit we just get that new fangled Space Corp to drop a couple pf rocks on the Three Gorges
