Can we get a thread going about the different finishes on firearms? Pros and cons of specific types etc. Also, been looking at Robar roguard or NP3, anyone have experience with them? Is it a scam? Overpriced?

Does the new Franklin armory binary trigger gen 3 work? Is it better than the echo?
How exactly does a special hammer(correct?), a trigger and a selector cost 365 burger bucks when it probably cost less than 30 to make it?

Does any current or prior US coast guard browse /k/? I'm a Marine getting out soon and I'm curious about potentially trying to become a Gunner's mate. Any opinions on weather or not it's worth the move? Additionally is the branch super overly politically correct and soft like the Navy is these days or is it still safe for CIS white male scum like me?

Been wondering this for a while, I've done it more than once. When some dumb ass rolls up to you, tries to act hard, brandish a knife, gun, what ever and you draw, do you ever take what they were trying to mug or intimidate you with?

Personally I've gotten a few decent knives out of this, any guns I just turn over to a cop buddy of mine, don't want some getto blaster Tyrone used

So, I just got an AR10, my dad says he has a shitton of national match 308 that he has no use for and will give me. What is 'national match' compared to 'box of 308 from Walmart', and is it fine for general sighting in and range work?

So I need a few h3 buffers, maybe even heavier than 5.4 oz, and well they're a bit expensive. I was thinking would it be fine to use tungsten powder? Like buy a regular cheap carbine buffer, take off the cap(also how do you do this? A hammer and punch pin?) and replace the steel weights with this tungsten powder.

Now my question is is what's the volume difference between tungsten powder(very fine in the micron range) and solid tungsten? And do these heavy buffers use pure tungsten or do they use tungsten carbide? Because the difference between the two in density is 18.5 percent.

Now that's fine since I'd just use less powder or use the whole amount volume wise since I might need a higher weight than 5.4 oz but again it would be good to know. The brownells video on buffers said the h buffers use tungsten carbide but others say just tungsten. And another pistol buffer I have use tungsten something but it's not a silver color, the tungsten was dark and course in comparison.

So which Is it? Tungsten carbide or just elemental tungsten that's used in buffers?
Another thing, is it a problem to use powder vs solid weights in terms of the effect? What about filling the buffer completely up with powder? Is the weights bouncing around the buffer crucial to operation?

I see one extractor that pulls ammunition form the belt, but I don't see one that pulls empty shell casings from the chamber. Are there two extractors, and I'm just not seeing one, or does the extractor that extracts rounds from the ammo belt also extract rounds from the chamber, or does it even need an extractor for the chamber?
