I'm considering switching my daily carry pistol. I currently have a Smith & Wesson MP40 9MM in my undershirt holster.
I'm looking for a little more stopping power. I live in a small town in the mountains, and its not a great area.
There's been more than a few shootings from some methheads nearby in my neighborhood. Not to mention the cougars that wander into town every winter and summer. 4 were shot this last year alone. A few of my goats have gone missing already. I have my eye on a Glock 31 .357 at a local feed store. Is it worth it /k/?

Don't use a carry pistol against cougars. If it's all you have, fine, but if you actually expect to deal with cougars on a regular basis get a carbine to keep in your truck. If you don't have a truck, but you live in an area where you expect problems with cougars, I don't understand you.
If you want as much stopping power as you can currently reasonably argue for putting in a pistol, get a 10mm. If you want to get stupid, go for a deagle, or a "pistol" variant of an AR-15, or a Draco.

I have a s&w m&p9 first gen that is sitting in my closet collecting dust. I've been looking at possibly customizing it with aftermarket parts. Is it even worth customizing? I've looked at a carver compensator for it but I'm unsure about installation. I keep seeing apex stuff whenever I use google so I'm assuming they are the major manufacturer of aftermarket parts. Right now I'm looking at a trigger and a compensator. I've also seen a duty carry spring kit that looks like a good option

How does one go about building a gun?
I don't mean fabricating from raw materials, I want to purchase the individual components and assemble them.
Where can I learn about the parts that make up individual models of firearms and their variants?
I'm specifically looking to build an MP5 "pistol," but what I really need is a reliable source from
which I can obtain more information about other guns in the future.

probably look for the pdf of the firearm manual, they contain all the information about the individual components, the assembly and disassembly, the do/k/ument or the ar/k/ has a fucking tonne of them, trial and error will help, you can probably find it on /t/

Singapore
Guam
Hawaii
Puerto Rico
BIOT

Ilha de Sao Miguel
Gotland
Okinawa
Bahrain
To my understanding, islands were historically important because they aided in logistics because planes didn't have the fuel capacity to travel extreme distances. Islands served as the bridge between two areas of conflict and would enable countries in their force projection. Today, the logistics have changed and planes now have the ability to travel long distances and supply other planes at such distances.
Islands have also been called unsinkable aircraft carriers but I don't see how they remain that relevant today when the missile technology that exists can target those sites from random locations.

Roughly equal in armor and penetration. A well nested in King Tiger would work well to make up for its lack of speed. While the existence of any amount of speed in the T-72 could allow it to out maneuver the King Tiger.
Equal depending on situation. Pretty much the Tiger needs good cover for the upper hand to get a killing blow. The T-72 could do the same or out maneuver the Tiger.
