Looking for a California legal rifle or shotgun under $800 bucks. Too deep to move out of cali for the next 3-4 years, and with Cali slowly going down the shitter on the verge of becoming balkanized, I decided to just act quickly and buy a gun now rather than when I move out to a more gun friendly state (my original plan)
Keltec KSG is your best friend right now shotgun-wise, rifle-wise your best bet is a fixed mag SKS. If you don't like old wood stuff, there are plenty of really nice bullpup and modernization kits out there for it, just keep the fixed mag and you'll be fine.

Been hearing about the SKS, but I've been getting mixed results about its' reliability. I've been told it's shit in muddy areas (my part of California is urban as fuck so rarely any mud) and that it's also shit in sandy environments, and that's the part that worries me, seeing as how Southern California hasn't exactly gotten out of its' drought yet so sand and dust are pretty abundant inbetween urban communities and cities.

SKS and moist nugget best cheap options
Hi /k/,
I recently purchased a nugget, and I was wondering how much truth there was to the fact that Mosins are more accurate with their bayonet deployed.
I am only asking this because I very recently bought this rifle for a specific type of competition (the local ISR), which doesn't allow to shoot with the bayonet deployed.
>inb4 lol nuggets for competitions
True, but it's an odd model that is historically interesting (a regular 91/30 with a M43 folding bayonet, pic related), I thought it would be fun to shoot it.
>>34828549
the bayonet does nothing to aim.
>>34828568
I have a hard time believing it too, but a lot of people reported some variations in accuracy and point of impact.
Bayonet reduces aim as it makes the gun much heavier to hold aiming.
Is it safe to keep weapons loaded all the time at home?
There is no one that will have access to them besides me.
>loaded
ready to go and doesn't alert the burglar to your presence and that you're armed
>unloaded
have to pull the slide back and make noise and alert the burglar that you're armed
what do you do /k/?
>>34828258
It's your house, do what you want.
I just keep my nightstand gun loaded.
>>34828269
I live in an apartment and I'm concerned that if an accidental discharge went off I would go to prison for it
>>34828274
don't pull the trigger.
Anything goes, working at pawn shops, going to pawn shops, and finding completely wrecked guns, at insane prices, people flipping out, share your stories, keep it /k/ related.
>>34828253
That's kind of awesome desu. Now I want to give my G19 an original Game Boy-type paintjob.
>>34828253
>cringe
>at some paint
Wow, it's fucking nothing.
>painting a glock rainbow colors is cringe
They're just Glocks, dude
ITT, you can only buy guns made in a single country from now on with the catch that your country's firearm laws do not apply. which one do you choose?
>>34828234
Portugal since it's where Winchester model 70 is now made.
>>34828234
South Korea for sure.
>>34828234
Croatia, beotches.
I really like both the m14 and m1 garand but only had enough money for one so ended up choosing a springfield m1A. I love my M1A but now I'm kind of wishing I got a garand instead. Anybody else here every done this?
I bought the M1 Garand and I love it. I eventually want an M14 but it's low priority on my list of wanted guns.
>>34828193
If someone says they don't regret a decision regarding which gun they wanted more then they're a lying faggot.
the garand has that edge of being used to kill nazis/japs
Anyone still watching Tank Biathlon?
Russia is getting BTFO by Serbia.
>>34828144
Huh? Serbia is in third place now.
>>34828144
Serbia strong
What was China's time yesterday? It seems they were faster than Russia overall?
How do soldiers communicate with POWs who don't speak the same language?
>>34828109
They communicate with beatings.
Beat them until they do what you point them to do.
>>34828109
Physical gestures tend to be pretty universal when interpreters aren't available.

whats so great about the midlength gas system? what advantages does it have mechanically over a carbine length gas system on a 16 inch barrel?
Longer sight radius with a front sight gas block. Lower pressure acting on the gas key. Less likely to shit unburnt powder into your mouth. Less likely to put your brass into a low orbit.
>>34827795
Is there any downside to them on a 16-18" barrel? Seems like it's objectively better than a carbine length with those barrels on paper.
>>34828063
Not enough to matter? It used to be harder to find hand guards for a mid length, but it's a common enough standard that it's not a problem.
Any reliable knife suggestions other than the Ka-Bar? Something good for both fighting and survivalism.

Finally a thread I have experience in. It kind of works, but it depends on the penne you buy.
This was my result back in April when I saw that pic first. I was bored and decided to go buy a box of penne and try. There's issues with it not staying in the mag once you get a few loaded though so that.
Not sure if penne was the right choice.
Gotta load the pasta with gunpowderelli first.
Why do I need a gun?
>>34827592
why would you make a bad thread like this
it's no one's responsibility to ensure your own safety but you
>>34827592
Well, why do you?
>>34827592
Why do we have to think for you?
