The night was filled with dark and cold,
When Sergeant Talbert the story’s told,
Pulled out his poncho and headed out,
To check the lines dressed like a Kraut.
Upon a trooper our hero came,
Fast asleep; he called his name.
“Smith, oh Smith, get up, it’s time
To take your turn out on the line.”
Private Smith, so very weary,
Cracked an eye, all red and bleary,
Grabbed his rifle and did not tarry,
Hearing Floyd, but seeing Gerry.
“It’s me!” cried Tab. “Don’t do it!” and yet,
Smith charged toute de suite with bayonet.
He lunged, he thrust, both high and low,
And skeweth the boy from Kokomo.
And as they carried him away,
Our punctured hero was heard to say,
“When in this war you venture out,
best never do it dressed as a Kraut!”
I am looking for a decent beater gun for whenever I go camping and hiking. Shouldn't be too expensive since it's going to be tossed around, wet, and all that. I was thinking an RIA 1911 or some cheap .357. There are mountain lions where I camp and fish, so that's my main concern. Coyotes too, but I never had problems with those and they probably aren't as hard to kill. Any suggestions or opinions? All I have now is a makarov, a .22 pistol, and a kahr cw9.
>>34821524
Get a based hi-point 40
>>34821524
Canik has cheap, decent 9mm's, which should be fine for mountain lions and coyotes. Or get a 10mm Glock 20. Not too pricey, lot of stoppin powah.
used glock 20. dat 10mm
With all the shit going on in the news lately, what would a war between the U.S. (and its allies) and the North Koreans actually look like?
>>34813505
American victory, lots of dead gooks. Approximate duration of the war: under a fortnight.
>>34813505
It'll never happen because China controls North Korea and the US and Chinese have a symbiotic relationship.
>>34813505
A blood bath, north half of Seoul gets damaged by the 50% of non-dud shells that manage to land in the first 15 minutes before the US and SK forces waste the Nork arty. 3 BSTB takes retarded casualties clearing a path through the DMZ mines. 'Merica steam rolls the Norks once through the DMZ.
Are there any plans of the USN to replace their cruisers with anything other than just more Burkes? The thought of the most powerful navy in the world using only carriers and destroyers for their large surface combatants seems depressing but it honestly seems like the reality we're going to be living in. What would /k/ like to see in a possible replacement?
Also general ship thread.
Long and thin-hulled cruisers were aesthetically significant and brought back at all costs.
There have been a few discussions on /k/ re: Tico replacement in the last couple of years. I have to imagine the USN would like to line up a Tico replacement, but budget is tight. Plus the Ohio's are due for replacement and building SSBNs isn't cheap. Plus procurring F35B/C for the USMC/USN. Plus spitting out Burkes and Virginias at a pretty good pace. And don't forget the JFK.
I'd imagine the Ticos will have to survive on refits in the short to medium term.

Think this is bullshit?
who fucking cares?

>Allegedly he was ordering THC oil (assuming for Vape purpose) and having it shipped to his home.
VAPE NAYSH YALL

this as well.
This guy got annoying trying to cater to his 12 year old fan base. If he dropped the fake accent and just showed us cool guns, I wouldn't mind.
What does /k/ think about conscription?
Do conscripts have place on modern battlefield?
Late 90´s and early 2000´s, many European countries moved away from conscription towards professional military. Nowdays some countries have bought back limited conscription or are considering it. Why?
If YOUR country had conscription and you would have to serve, what would be your take on it?
Countries with conscription are usually one or more of the following
>poor
>authoritarian
>small population
>geopolitically in a bad situation
and make do with what they have, europe began to disarm itself after the soviet union collapsed and now with russia acting hostile some politicians are scared, reverting decisions that were made with too much haste only two decades ago. Western countries with conscription haven't been involved in much fighting recently so it's hard to judge the quality of the troops, but it's probably rather obvious that professional troops who receive continuous training are better.
>Nowdays some countries have bought back limited conscription or are considering it. Why?
Because they don't have enough volunteers showing up to fill the positions they need filled.
>>34796495
It can be necessary for some smaller countries but it should be a last resort. Also many countries just use it as a way to hide youth unemployment.
I found this in my attic after going through my grandfathers old stuff and I was wondering if you would know what it is. I have two more pictures with markings. Knowing as little as a /noguns/ person like myself does I would imagine it's a .22 of some kind, although single fire and definitely very old.

2/3
the actual branding was damaged for the sight
Giving you a bump OP, looks neat.
3/3
"Model 1915" is what it says.
>>34835547
thanks for the bump!
all i know about it is that my grandfather used it to shoot at snakes and coons, and occasionally a bird if he knew he wasn't aiming at anyones house
What the fuck are the people who do this retarded backward leaning shit thinking?
>>34835462
cos they stoopid
>>34835462
Thinking about killing some nigs
its usually because of a lack of upper body strength
Where can I get a Big Iron?
Basically a SAA with an 1860 grip and cut down marlin barrel.
Optionally with notches numbering 1 and 19 more.
>>34835104
on your hip
>>34835104
From my cold, dead hand
>>34835104
If both guns are from the same manufacturer, you should be able to put an 1860 grip frame on an SAA with no problem. As for the Marlin barrel, I don't know. Just get a 7.5" cavalry barrel and be done with it.
Explain how the hell can pic related maintain sub moa accuracy and a DMR tier velocity while having a 14.5 inch barrel?
>>34834060
Barrel length has absolutely nothing to do with accuracy
Where do you see anything about velocity on that page?
>trashmod
>>34834942

Well /k/... how did I do?
>>34833904

Is that a tanning bed?
Looks like you did it with a boot sock.
10/10.
Which folding iron sights should i pick?
shtf scenarios and temporarily i'll be running without any kind of optics. they will become buis later.
>>34833892
I likes my troy's
>>34833892
For backups get magpul. They're light ans robust.
>>34833931
They're available to me straight away, so i wouldn't have to import them all the way from the US.
But there's one thing that gives me second thoughts: regular magpul pro doesn't have elevation adjustment so I basically zero it at 100 meters, right?
What else should this include?
>>34833768
penis sizes and number of penises per nation
>>34833781
I mean that's basically 1:1 with nuclear warhead sizes and number of warheads in this case
Compare the size of the usa nuclear arsenal and north koreas
One is in the thousands one is in the dozents
One of these countries never invaded someone in the last 50 years and one of these countries started 10-15 wars and 100s of regime changes
Who of these countries should have nuclear arms
These anti-Sig posts are getting out of hand. It feels like other, less impressive gun manufacturers are trying to push one bad Sig product as hard as they can so they can increase their own sales. I'm in no way defending Sig on their mistake, it's a big one, but these shitposts are getting more and more out of hand.
No
Sig is shit
It deserves the shit it gets
>complains about shitpost with a shitpost
what did he mean by this
Sig has been trash ever since they moved to new hampshire and every single firearm thing they've done since has resulted in some failure or another
>you can't prove me wrong
does this anger you?
>>34833456
It amuses me because I've seen it in cartoons and "Support Your Local Sheriff!"
>>34833456
Not really. I've never understood what this sort of imagery was supposed to convey. Unlike typical pacifistic hippie symbols(flowers in barrels, etc) it's aggressive, demonstrating some will to render the user of the firearm helpless. Despite that distinction, it also fails to present some kind of logical aggression, as even symbolically the gesture doesn't seem to disable the firearm. I suppose it could be construed to depict martyrism, but I don't really get that's what they were going for. As cringy antigun imagery goes, the knotted barrel shit makes a lot more sense.
>>34833456
Are antiguns craving for big black guns now
