Post your favorite muzzleloading firearms of history and reasons why you like them.
M1845 Russian musket for me.
One of the last memories I have with my grandfather was helping him with research on the Empire of Russia's involvement during the American Civil War, so it holds a close place to my heart.

Whitworth Rifle, because it's aesthetic and shoots at 1500+ yards

Modern hunting muzzleloaders look fun though

Whitworth is a close second favorite for me.
I love the hammer size and shape. Not to mention

Also forgot, the Jezail is fucking 10/10 aesthetics wise.
1845 still holds as my favorite.
Is there a martialarts weapon that you prefer, or that you could use in combat?
Yea
The gun

Gunkata.
The gun
HEMA fag here
Short hammer/shield is very fun
Spear is guud
Zweihander (What is that really called) is fun
Australia's military history seems to just be a hodgepodge of failures and us and the burgers using them for cannon fodder and "look other countries support us!" propaganda. The only thing the aussie military seem to have going for them is the cool hats or have they actually contributed something of significance in the last 120 years?
>>35163259
You mean like the Kokoda Trail or the Siege of Tobruk?
>>35163259

Sauce?
>mother convinced me I had depression as a kid
>relayed this to my doctor
>instantly prescribed me meds because big pharma
>barely took them but to appease my mother kept refilling the prescription for 3-4 years,
>as soon as I was out of the house I tossed them in the trash
>now want to join navy and since I "took" them for so long I'll be PDQ'd immediately
what are the chances of being caught with a history of depression if I dont say anything, pick a job without a clearance, and mind my own business?
>>35163220
>what are the chances of being caught with a history of depression
they only know if you tell them
>>35163231
This seems to be the consensus I got from researching but for every post like this theres a military faggot going "DONT LIE THEY'LL CATCH U!!!" so I'm a little spooked.
>>35163237
>"DONT LIE THEY'LL CATCH U!!!" so I'm a little spooked.
they only catch you if you tell them. The gov can't just grab your records out of the blue, that's illegal.
I am going to conceal carry a flint knife. Talk me out of it.
>metal-detector proof
>razor sharp
>lightweight
>aesthetic
>fun conversation piece
>can gut and skin a deer
>larp as a caveman
>has reliably served mankind since the Stone Age
>responsible for making mankind the dominant species.
>wiped out countless subhuman species
>has killed millions since prehistory
>Go literally caveman when used in self defense
do it, watch this otzi video series, they are cool

What does tribe think of Otzi's new axe?
Shiny metal much better than rock
Any security guards working right now?
How you holding up?

I just glad this is a temp work I did after school
>>35163072
Just doing it for fun money while the gubbmint pays me to be in school, I love it. One site actually let's me bring my laptop so I just sit and play Mountain Blade for 10 hours and go home. All the other sites I literally just mosey around and shitpost, occasionally write something in a log book. It would be soul crushing if this were my actual living, but right now it's just an extra $800 a month of play-with money, so it's pretty fucking sweet.

ITT: any spooky stuff being alone at night ?
had a buddy that did hospital security and even the night crew wouldn't go in one x ray room because of ghost shit.

Why do people talk so much shit about the British armed forces? Aren't they punching above their weight considering their population size and budget?
We all know the SA80 was a disaster, let's not go into all that again.
never really see too much shit talking about the brit military.
matter of fact the only military forces i ever see get shit on constantly here are muhreens and the french
>>35162944
and the Russians, because they kind of deserve it
>>35162934
Their budget is shit and they are thieves but I enjoyed working with the brits, they are aggressive but disciplined.
can someone identify this rifle? I saw it on arms list.

Looks like a sporterized arisaka.
>>35162391
Sporterized Arisaka. Still has AA sights. If the Mum is intact and if the chambering is original hop on it.
I live here in the great state of Washington. I'm currently working toward saving my money to buy a house and to settle down with my wife, homesteading is the dream but I know I need to work hard to get there.
Before the end of the year I am going to apply for my conceal carry permit and my wife plans to go peruse the handguns with me. She says she wants us to lean towards buying a glock. I have plenty of research to do on which ones I would consider.
This will be my first purchase of a firearm and will also be the first handgun that I will legally own. So what do you /k/ommando's think about what handguns I should consider to be my first? Should I go with a glock?
>>35162069
Yeah you should probably just get a glock. They are great reliable guns. They are also some of the most size and weigh efficient guns around and don't have a bunch of safeties and decocker dangling everywhere to catch shit. This makes them ideal for carry. Other people will whine about "features" that they don't have like forward slide serrations or standard factory metal sights. Most of these things are completely useless when you think about it and are only featured on the clones to distinguish them from glocks for the marketers' convenience. Go in to a gun range before you buy one and learn to shoot first, but you can buy one with confidence.
>>35162069
Glock is a good choice for a first gun. Most poly striker pistols are. I prefer the M&P series by Smith and Wesson over Glock myself. If you get the chance and are curious, hold an M&P 2.0 and see how you like it.
>>35162069
>caliber
get a 9. easiest to learn on and generally cheaper ammo than most others.
>poly frame
glock and s&w are your cheaper go to's. hk, sig, and fn if you're feeling froggy. go for a compact or subcompact if you honestly think about concealing. beretta px4 is a severely overlooked pistol you should probably look into.
>metal frame
1911, sig, beretta 90 series, and the cz variants are all good choices. these are obviously going to be a little heavier than the polymer frames. s&w used to make some great metal frame pistols back in the day. kinda uncommon to find them nowadays though. metal frame is a superb choice to learn to shoot with in my opinion.
>things to not do
don't go to a gun shop looking to buy a gun. the guy behind the counter is looking to make a sale. don't buy a gun because "it fits your hand." all guns fit your hand. best option is to go to your local pistol range that rents out handguns. test a few out and make your decision based off of how they shot.
What the fuck is "open bolt?" I cannot seem to grasp this, and can't find an animation for it in Google. I understand closed bolt, duh doi, but wtf kind of gun uses a design where the bolt is pushed forward upon trigger pull? Wouldn't that just slow shit down and over complicate it?
>>35161959
>overcomplicate it
Opposite really. Less parts to get the job done. The Sten is a good example of open bolt.
>>35161959
The bolt is held back by the sear. The trigger releases the sear and the bolt is driven forward by the recoil spring. The bolt has a fixed firing pin, and as soon as it seats a round in the chamber, it fires.

Is there an easy way to get this in
>>35161930
You can try stretching with smaller plugs first
>>35161930
it's easier to not buy a 1911 in the first place
>>35161934
I assume many of you have seen No Country for Old Men. And you've seen the shotgun he uses.
My question is, is it even possible to silence a shotgun to the point he does in the movie with any device available these days?
I get Hollywood isn't all that realistic, but I was just curious. Is it even theoretically possible to silence something like a shotgun to that extent, even with some sort of futuristic material?
I'm only an amateur when it comes to weapons, I've fired them and taken apart some. But I don't really have a great knowledge about these things. Please don't shit on me too hard.
Also ive seen youtube vids of silenced shotguns with subsonic shells and they were still quite loud.
>>35161887
>ive seen youtube vids of silenced shotguns with subsonic shells and they were still quite loud
think you answered your own question.
>>35161887
Easy way is a Metrro-Gun barrel system.
Unless he custom loaded them with a significantly reduced load, no, it wouldn't even come close to that. Also, that's a bit of a small can for all the gas that comes out of there.
Finally found a hasguns gf.
Feelsgoodman.bmp
If you're a proper man, secure in your masculinity and not overcompensating for shit you don't need to find a hasgunz gf, you find a standard good gf and she becomes hasgunz by your influence
>>35161815
I don't know what you were thinking of with that stippling job but she's going to leave you for a man who has proper grip strength.
I don't even like Glocks but if you need to stipple it, you have bitch hands and weak forearms.
