Why have firearms stopped trying to shoot the biggest bullets possible ?
>>34871437
Smaller bores do everything better.
They're not as fun though.
>Tfw no 45-70 lever action
>>34871437
We haven't, it's just that everything past .50 is considered Artillery
>>34871437
Practicality of using smaller rifle rounds with higher velocity to do the same job. Larger rounds are generally better at punching through loose brush, but for solid armor a smaller round going faster is better.
was thinking why not put disabled vets or unfit for service people into small tanks so they can serve
the disabled vets would have to be intombed into the tank like in 40k tho until they die they are in it
>>34871414
What happens when they need to take a shit and their diapers are full?
>>34871433
You shoot it at the enemy.
>>34871433
one little detail....
Why aren't you buying a fallout shelter /k/?
http://www.atlassurvivalshelters.com/
because i live on the gulf coast with a base elevation of 11ft and surrounded by salt water springs.
>>34871166
I know your pain, Strelok
>>34871143
Most of /k/ already lives underground
Did WW2 rifle users ever switch magazines instead of using stripper clips? Guns like the Lee-Enfield or SVT?
>>34870917
For the Lee Enfield, no. In fact the magazines were affixed to the rifle as shown here for many models.
iirc SVTs were occasionally issued with a single spare magazine for emergencies. This was only for marine units if I recall correctly.
Isnt the svt and avt moth magazine fed with removable magazines? Why would they use strippers?
What have you bought/inherited recently, /k/?
Can't tell, is that a G40 or 41?
My next purchase is gonna be a G40. Can't wait.
Most recent additions are these two scattergats. A Norinco SAS 12 which i just got out of the Cosmo yesterday, and an RIA M5, which I've upgraded over the last two or so weeks.
>>34870690
Good choice friend, is that a G34 or a G35? i got the 34 myself and have been enjoying it. 9mm is so cheap to have fun with
>>34870915
Judging by the cutout it is either a G34 or G35, dont think its a 17L because it has the gen 4 stippling.
>have to wait until im 21 to buy a .22 pistol which is the only gun i want and my favorite gun ever
Fuck this
You can buy from private sellers.
>>34870595
Life must be pretty sad if your favorite gun is a .22, OP
>>34870602
and what? stare at it in my house?
What better way to cradle a pistol under your tits while clearing a favella?
>>34870528
No one here has even heard of this?! Rofl noguns confirmed
>>34870528
>>34870528
I don't prefer it. I generally use a thumb pectoral index as my muzzle down ready position because it's already a natural part of my draw stroke and the joint articulation required for sul is ridiculous and unnecessary for my applications. The only time it makes sense is in a conga line for law enforcement purposes. Even then I probably wouldn't use it
What would being shot in the neck like? Like with a handgun?
I just realised I've never heard of this happening before. It's usually blades to the neck. But never bullets. Seems like a nice to incapacitate someone while leaving them there in agony and fear.
Depends on where. If you're grazed on either side if the neck you should be fine. If you take one directly to the front it's going to suck so bad you will shoot yourself. Your trachea will be trashed and you will suffocate in blood. You could also travel through and hit your spinal cord. If the carotid or jugular get hit then blood will most likely run down into your chest cavity and create a hemothorax, smothering your heart and lungs, which will kill you unless you get surgery immediately.
t. Combat medic, army
>>34871013
I'd imagine that even if you survive a spinal shot, you'd be a Quadriplegic. Either or, sounds like a shit way to go.
>>34871013
Not to mention if the carotid or jugular get hit you will most likely bleed out anyway in minutes. So no need to really worry about the hemothorax
What does /k/ think of the current arsenal of the Secret Service?
>>34870433
That's a lot for one man to carry, but I'm up for it. Eh, @SecretService, you accepting job applications from /k/?
>>34870433
>No belt-feds
1/10
>>34870433
Do they seriously still use Uzis?
Anyone who doesn't concealed carry is a faggot

Wow it's fucking nothing
>>34870353
why do these pussies never look like their macho cartoon avatars
>>34870517
general lack of self awareness.
Does nickle plated casing do anything for reliability?
Keeps it from tarnishing and probably aids in extraction since the cases have slightly higher lubricity.
>>34870325
Supposedly. I'm sure it does on an extremely small margin.
Great thread op.
I've been practicing my swordsmanship in the backyard and got a little ninja warrior trainer

Once you hit the fleet, you'll go out one night. Some dude will sell you acid.
That's the night I fought a balrog like gandolf.
>>34870317
Where did you go for boot camp? Ogre1 and Troll were milestones for me, with Dragon1 being a requirement for graduation.
Different country, different rules, though I guess
>>34870390
MCRD San Diego. I only had to fight the Balrog.
Some of the old timers had to climb the mountain and fight the dragon.
Unfortunately a lot of the pics I have are too big to post.
>>34870278
>>34870285
Post that shit in a google drive
>>34870227
No.
>>34870227
If it is the only one you have then yes. There are better options however.
>>34870227
No, shotguns and handguns are for home defense. Rifles are for putting food on the table.
