How is my collection? I just got into funs about 5-6 months ago. What else do I need? I'm thinking of getting an M1 Garand soon.

>thinking of getting an M1 Garand
What's there to think about? Go buy one.
>>34914560
Whats all that plastic shit on the left one?
>>34914560
I want too man but the CMP is cuck as fuck. IDK when they will have service grades. I live 6 hours away from their store and that alone would be $40 in gas + $40 in sales tax and there is still no guarantee they will have one I will like.
/k/ humor thread fellas
Sorry about the novel of a first image

OP's pic makes me miss all the HFY shit I used to see around here. Rather have that shit than today's dank ironic political memes that get spouted here, there, and everywhere.
Have a chicken getting blasted.
Will contribute.
Might throw in some spoopy. My folder's pretty unorganized.
ITT: We post clubs.

Nogunz here, going to buy my first rifle and I have no fucking clue what to get.
I was in Boy Scouts and worked at a Scout Camp helping the gun range dude for quite a while, so I'm a good shot and know about guns. We only ever used bolt-action .22s though. I want to get a bolt-action but I don't know what kind. I go hiking a lot and want something that'll be good against mountain lions/gators/methheads. I don't usually have a problem with animals since I know how to avoid them and avoid getting in trouble with them. I'd rather have a gun just in case though.
Tl;dr: What kind of rifle should I get? Nugget?
>>34914277
Spanish/Yugo Mausers are a good alternative to Mosins.
Modern-times, maybe a Howa 1500. Many calibers to choose from.
>>34914277
.308 Enfield.
>>34914277
savage axis is like $280. go nuts.
How is the VEPR 12? I've wanted one for ages I just never bought one.
I've heard mixed reviews but generally it seems pretty well received.
Any thoughts from any of you that own one?
>>34914238
I'd love to show up to my club's trap shoot one day with a VEPR 12 for giggles
>>34914238
The only mixed reviews you'll see is from Saiga owners who's emotionally hurt that they spent so much money and time getting their Saiga 12s to run properly, while Vepr owners just have fun blasting away.
Really, it's a great shotgun. Out of the box, it's what a Saiga 12 should have been.
>>34914467
I assumed as much. I've fired about 1000 shells through two separate saigas and neither ever really functioned properly.
I've just heard some veprs had FTE problems and that you need to find shells that work with it properly.
I'm mainly interested in clay/trap shooting and home defense and Ive heard more mixed reviews that it won't necessarily fire light loads.
When I try to hold my glock in the "thumbs forward grip" i get pain in my left wrist from the way it's angled. Not just while I'm doing it but afterwards too. it just feels super unnatural for me to twist my wrist that way.
What should I do.
1)ease up on the angle
2)switch to an old school crossed thumbs grip and deal with having shittier groupings as a result
3)go see a doctor to see if I have carpal tunnel*
4)switch to a gun with a non retarded grip angle.
*I don't get wrist pains like that in anything else except maybe playing guitar without warming up. I don't get tingling or numbness either so I don't think I have carpal tunnel itself, but I probably did fuck up my wrist somehow from being in a touring band for almost 10 years.
Bump.
Another option is getting pic related.
It would be cheaper than buying another gun and I've gotten really used to the trigger on my glock (installed an NY1 trigger and 3.5 connector, fucking love it) and it has been 100% reliable so far, so I don't know how gung ho I am about changing up my carry piece altogether.
>>34914071
try different shooting grips
try renting different guns
maybe too much recoil problem ? how much do you shoot etc
computer geeks get hand problems (i know) no matter how they hold their hands when typing just because they are typing 40-50 hrs/week
>>34914071
why is your dominant hand thumb on top of your support hand instead of under it?
in the usa in states like georgia, alabama and missisppi can you shoot someone who breaks into your home until they are dead even if you dont see a gun? especially at night when there are no lights? or would you go to prison? im not wanting to kill anyone i just want to know how this works with the castle law
Georgian here.
Short answer: Yes. If you feel threatened, you are allowed to shoot to kill.
Disclaimer: Just don't shoot them in the back, else they'll get you with the "they were retreating, not a threat" cuckold shit.

what if its dark like insaid and allbyou know is they are around a doorway? what if they have the back to the door?
i hopeni dont have to ever but its best to know
>>34913886
If it's dark and they're around a doorway, how do you know it's a Youthful Urban Homevisitor? Why would it not be your roomate, friend, or a family member?
You need to think this through a little more if you're going to have a gun for self-defense.
In a situation where South Korea believed with almost 100% certainty that a North Korean invasion was imminent, would it be in the South Korean's advantage to "invade" first?
Is losing the political advantage of "They crossed the DMZ first, not us" out weighted by the military advantage of being the side conducting the blitz?
>>34913679
Yes
No, but less because of politics and more because it's not to their advantage. The US can handle air superiority over the North, and the NK military only has enough fuel to operate a few days. The DMZ is a deathtrap. Let the Norks break themselves against decades of defenses, then move into North Korea.
if SK unilaterally makes the first move, honestly I doubt the US will become involved, without the US there is no victory for the south koreans
I'm so bored, /k/. Is archery a fun hobby?
>>34913567
It can be.
>>34913567
maybe if you have zero fucking access to guns.
>>34913567
It's autistic as fuck. Go to an archery club and look at the people there, you'll see what I mean.
hey /k/
I just got my HQL.
I was thinking on getting a sp-01 as my first pistol.
Redpill me on it/other suggestions?
>>34913546
>redpill
Its best used by placing under your chin and pulling the trigger
>>34913546
Its a good pistol, but have you heard of glawks?
>>34913546
>Redpill me on it
An excellent and rather heavy all steel gun, perfect for range use.
For everything else, most likely a lighter gun, you can default to a glock like other million people, but the suggestion is always to get a feel of the gun before buy.
There are so much good pistols out there that ergonomics can be a discriminating factor, given that basically any modern pistol made from a known manufacturer will work fine.
How did you convince your girlfriend to allow you to keep a gun in the home?
By not being a pussywhipped cuck.
Convincing her... like she is in charge and you need her permission. Do you accidently call her 'mom' sometimes? Does she keep your balls in a jar too?
Because its MY home.
Red pill me on camouflage, I really like the digital camo because of fashion reasons but I think is going to be discontinued for more effective patterns.
>>34913394
the only truly effective camo is the kind that adapts to any environment. seasons change and local fauna is different everywhere.
>>34913394
>the digital camo
There are tons of digital patterns, there is nothing wrong with digital patterns but it gets a bad rep because of UCP. A lot countries still and continue to use digital patterns.
>MARPAT
>CADPAT
>EMR
>AOR1 and 2
>Type 07
>Various Eastern European digital patterns.
>>34913394
Camo only makes sense in the environment it matches with. Camo in public usually means you are:
>milfag off duty going to see his dog/cat/jody
>poser
>farmer bubbah
>some dude
Anyhow, wear camo appropriate to environment if you actually plan on using it. UCP is shit and everyone agrees unless you're sitting inside either a quarry or smack up against the side of a relatively barren mountain (see pic related).
This guy does a pretty decent camo test. Also good practice for your eyes to spot those hiding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3ptpJfwEtg
Hey guys.
Looking to get a .308 rifle to make some squirrels into paste. I have a SKS, AR15, Beretta 92, Nagant Revolver. Logical step seems to be a .308 rifle.
Im looking at all these models and the differences seem negligible besides the gucci model. Anyone have any insight?
>>34913272
bump
>>34913272
pls send help
>>34913272
The only real difference is barrel, match bull or hk tapered.
The rest are features like rails or barrel length.
There are many good war movies. There are many great war movies.
There are many movies and series that tell stories that should be told, that need to be told.
Deserve to be told, even.
Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, Siege of Jadotville, Enemy at the Gates, Guns of Navarone, Generation Kill, Cartel Land, Generation War, The Pacific, Bridge Over the River Kwai
We can all agree on the good and great, even the shitty (for the most part). But ask you /k/:
What /k/ related movie deserves the title of the greatest one ever created?
https://youtu.be/OmiM_IL4JRU
>>34913266
I'd honestly have to say either Platoon and Apocalypse Now (which can be "argued" isn't a war movie)
The Beast of War, 9th Company, Tae Guk Gi, The Boys in Company C, 84 Charlie Mopic, Glory, The Battle of Algiers, and A Very Long Engagement are underrated, as is the TV series Rat Patrol and the first season of Tour of Duty.
>the Glock 17 is too heavy bro I need to send it into Faggot Arms to lighten it up
>put in Tungsten guide rod
>put in metal magwell
>put in an x300
>so much lighter now
Why do people do stupid shit like this?
I have never heard someone complain about a Glock being heavy. It's usually the opposite.
>>34913275
Have you heard of slide lightening cuts?
>>34913261
>the Glock 17 is too heavy bro I need to send it into Faggot Arms to lighten it up
did you just assume my intent you fucking glockphobe shitlord?
