I finally have my Chinese contrat Inglis Hi-Power No.1.
First series pistol produced in June of 1944, it has no new series number in front of the "CH" serial number. This pistol is in 100% condition with zero wear on the pistol, grip and even on the brand new stock that has its original, extremely rare sling. This pistol has never had a shot fired through it in its 70+ years of existence. Worth over $4,000 CAD, I got it for $2,100 from a friend who got it for free through contacts, with twenty modern MecGar magazines and a complete spare No.1 trigger mechanism and spare extractors, springs and other parts. He also gave me the original registration form from 1993 (I'm Canadian) when you had to register your guns. The form says that it original came with a 13 round magazine, that my buddy gave me. I am now in possession of a prohibited magazine (oops) but I already modified it to be a permanent 10 round magazine by just welding a rod under the follower.
This was a steal for me and my buddy made $2,100 off of it.
Discuss.

Neato.... but... it looks like it's made out of pot metal
>gets rare, nearly mint condition handgun w/ matching magazine
>immediately takes a welder to said magazine
Fucking leafcucks
>>34923947
>weld a rod under the follower of a prohibited 13-round magazine to turn it legal and not get arrested and not lose all my guns
>a completely reversible operation
Go fuck yourself, dipshit.
Just bought my first gun, a 9mm Glock 17 gen 4 with the intent of having it for home protection then eventually for concealed carry once I take the course. Did I make a good purchase?
Also, glock advice thread. What ammo should be used for this?
124 grain fmj pmc for range
124 grain hornady xtps for dindus
>>34923555
Yes. Learn to shoot it well. Don't modify it on some misguided course to make up for a lack of fundamentals.
>>34923555
>g17
>concealed carry
You bought the "can't go wrong problem solver" gun before you thought about what you would use it for didn't you?

So are the S400 and S500 the absolute best of the best ABM SAM systems currently in existence?
Do they have any peers anywhere?
>>34922947
Yes
No they don't
best american patriot doesn't even come close
Yeah, but only because other countries really aren't as paranoid about airspace security as Russians are.
Europeans have decent SAM systems whereas Americans have all of their good system on ships. They've never had to worry about a homeland invasion so they dont really focus on long range land based SAM systems
>>34922947
It literally doesnt matter how good they are, they arent american, therefore theyre shit compared to anything american
Any Vectorfags here? I'm thinking of buying a .45 SBR.
If somebody could tell me whether or not that recoil management system is complete garbage, that would be great.
>>34922353
It's fucking awesome for full auto.
>>34922353
Always wanted one, but after having shot one, my 2ยข.
The recoil management does work, in a sense.
Rearward recoil is eliminated but having that mass moving up and down caused me to string my shots vertically.
I was shooting one of the carbines and this thing was heavy; like ak47 loaded to the gills with shit on the rails heavy.
Too heavy for a 9mm in my opinion.
Try to find one for rent at a range and shoot it for a while.
>>34922572
Oh my, you're right, it's heavier than I ever would have guessed.
Why do you shoot lead bullets when they're harmful to the environment, /k/?
>>34922092
Where do you think lead comes from?
>>34922092
the environment doesn't care.
Because the planet is our bitch
how would a war with china vs russia look like
it would look like a bunch of chinese guys fighting a bunch of slavic guys

>handguns are restricted (restricted means you need an authorizing to buy them, and you can't hunt with them)
>semi-auto rifles with more than 3 rounds capacity are restricted (yes, it is illegal to hunt with a Ruger 10/22)
>manually operated rifles (bolt/lever/pump actions) with more than 11 rounds capacity are restricted
>these calibers are restricted : 7,62 x 39 ; 5,56 x 45 ; 5,45 x 39 Russian ; 12,7 x 99 ; 14,5 x 114
>Pump actions shotguns are restricted (but not pump action rifles, so Maverick 88 is not)
>after uni, want my own gun
>guns are expensive
>probably going to stick with one gun for a decade
>gun needs to be reliable and polyvalent (hunting, SHTF scenario ; home defense is almost illegal here, rather use a big stick than a gun)
Should I rather buy a "coach gun" (short 12 gauge double barrel shotgun), a "scout rifle" (full power cartridge carbine), or something else ?

Those guys are spinning in their graves over what youve all become, anyway i vote scout rifle

Some pictures from the Royal Danish Arsenal Museum in Copenhagen. While I do have enough pics for it, I probably won't do my usual thread filler here, as I should go fall into feverish coma sometime soonish. We'll see how it goes, and an archive of the whole pile will be provided.
What are some alternatives to Mini-14/30 which doesn't require you to be a member of DSSN or NROF?

Not unless we're members of DSSN or NROF. Maybe someone else could be bothered to explain these gay clubs further
The caliber debate for handguns always tends to the "it's all about shot placement" worldview, but the caliber debate for rifles tends to the "more is better" mentality. I don't understand that logic.

you don't want a 5,000 J handgun since it would break your wrist, but you do want a 5,000 J rifle since REMOVE ELEPHANT
Is there any point to owning semi-auto pistol calibre carbines? I really want a vz61, but the thought of being restricted to semi-auto seems lame when the whole selling point is a low-recoil spray.
>>34921036
>the whole selling point is a low-recoil spray.
No. That is not "the whole point" of a PDW. Look at the M1 carbine for a proto-typical pistol caliber carbine. There was a full auto version, but plenty of semi-auto rifles were distributed to different soldiers. The point was to have a lightweight rifle that could be given to people who weren't expected to see major combat but who wanted slightly more firepower than a pistol - in terms of caliber and capacity - in a package that was a lot easier to use - aiming and stability at long ranges - than a pistol.
Having a buttstock, a long sight radius, and standard magazines of 20-50 rounds makes even a semi-auto PCC very much worth owning. They also happen to tend to be easier to suppress than rifle calibers, which makes them great for home defense.
>>34921596
>which makes them great for home defense
But muh SBR'd AR15 and muh 300 blackout.
Is there any way PCCs can become prevalent again for civilian use with the AR15 in position it's in?
They're fun. Stop LARPing and enjoy yourself. If you enjoy LARPing, it's time to consider KYSing yourself.
Theoretically, what's the least number of people you'd need to disable an aircraft carrier, and what is the lowest effort method they'd employ?

Anything and everything.
"Lightest", most reliability and etc. Generally just the best.
pic unrelated.
>>34920934
This though you can make an argument for the Polish 7.62x51mm conversion, as well as the M240L.
Both equally capable but the PK is the lightest.
