No, the niggers today are much hardier than the niggers of the 1910s.

I know nothing about Mosin Nagants. If possible I would want a Finnish M39 (I hear those are good) but it's not a true Russian peasant boomstick.

What's the absolute most I should pay for a laminate one? Should I get a laminate or hold out for an authentic one, because I'm assuming the Soviets didn't laminate it themselves.

Post laminate stock Mosins.

PS: what does /k/ think about this South African "Vektor" pistol also being offered?

>>
Finnish ones are a meme, it's literally the same gun with a pistol grip stock. Don't spend the extra money.
>>
The pistols are extremely hard to come by but of little value. Vecktor company is and was not on par with most of gun manufacturers of their time - poor quality materials, and poor tooling - however the external design is unique and the concept of function is correct but good luck trying to find parts, spare magazines etc

The Fins, like the do most rifles of the era, took the Mosin and made it actually, you know, good. Often a new barrel, new sights, etc

Hello K, I need some advice. I'm currently building another AR-15 and looking for the "jack of all trades" for my homestead. I'm trying to debate what I need vs what I want. I want this rifle to deal with most issues you can imagine a house in the country deals with, but I also want it for SHTF. That being said, I have a line of sight between four and five hundred yards. I already have a 16" colt AR-15, and a M1A scout. I'm leaning towards a 18" 1:8 Chrome Lined Criterion barrel with the rifle length gas system. Upper will be going onto a rock river lower with the RRA two stage trigger, paired with the magpul CRT stock. I'm also placing a Vortex 1x8 optic on it. The rifle should be built to last. Any recommendations or suggestions?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Don't get an RRA trigger, they start to sit out after 2-3 thousand rounds. Splurge for an MBT or an SSA. If you're only shooting from 4-500 yards, you don't really need an optic more powerful than a 1-5x. Also, don't quote me, but you may get better accuracy from a nitride/melonite barrel as opposed to a Chrome lined. Look at LaRue Stealth barrels, they're outstanding.
>>
>>34863142
Thanks for the reply. I already own the RRA lower with the trigger but I will look at upgrading in the near future. As for the optic, I do agree that I might only need up to a 5x, but I wanted the little bit extra to help with target identification/spotting. Plus I already own the Vortex 1-8 so it's not anything extra out of the budget.
>>
>>34863203
If you already own a Vortex 1-8, then that should be fine. I would definitely recommend upgrading the trigger though. Contrary to what the trips on /arg/ say, it doesn't really matter what your rifle looks like or how gucci your rail is. Find a setup that works for you. The only parts that you should really splurge on anyway are the barrel, BCG, trigger, and glass.

I've finally got my first gun, a 8" S&W 460VXR that I'm picking up Friday.

I got a box of 45LC's to warm up with and a box of 300 grain federal. Not my first time shooting but I've only shot a few guns in the Navy. The most I've shot revolver wise was my dad's public defender and that barely had recoil with the same ammo.

I paid 950 total new. How bad did I just mess up.

Sounds about right price, usually they cost a few extra hundred bucks more. 45lc is fun shooting, and you can shoot .454 and .460 magnum too then right?

What is /k/'s take on Japan's Defense & Strategy?
Is the JSDF as bad as people make it to be?
Can they protect themselves against a conventional war with the PRC?
Will they get nuked or do they have chances of intercepting a North Korean missile?
And most importantly, do you think there are threats to the existence of anime?

>Is the JSDF as bad as people make it to be?
Where do people say that? On weibo?
From what I've heard, both here on /k/ and in professional defence publications like Jane's is that the JSDF is well trained and decently funded, but has zero actual combat experience, and can't match the sheer numbers of the PRC.
>>
>>34862318
They can punch far above their weight class, but they're a glass cannon simply because they don't have the numbers (never really did short of a full-on WWII war economy/state).
They have very little practical experience in war (which is more or less why they bothered participating in the ME wars with the US).

They would not really be able to stand up to the PRC in isolation, but if the PRC tried it, it would galvanize the region to put aside differences and stand up to the PRC (or at least make it increasingly unprofitable to bother pressing against Japan), even if nobody has "good" relations with Japan. As well, PRC hate for Japan is mostly saber-rattling distractions for a shitty job done by the Party for one reason or another; Japan is one of their best customers. Taking out them would be killing their own local economy for some temporary rape and ideological victory with an assload of problems afterwards from taking care of a conquered people.

They have fair chances of intercepting nukes; that's a lot of what they allegedly buy in terms of military hardware (which pisses of China because they're just so afraid the mean ol' Japs is gonna want Manchuria again with their meanie JSDF missiles).

There are threats to the existence of anime from the West and the 2020 Olympics bringing Japan into the international eye, not the Chinese. Internationalist puritan virtues are a cancer since it's so radicalized that even drawings draw ire moreso than video games as somehow inciting crime. Trump is a wild card in anime's existence as we know it, as he threw off the TPP talks.

Penetration or bust, unless there's a manufacture brand with consistent expansion results
>>
>>34861995
With the pictured ammo? If you're a good shot under stress or have a large magazine.

With good ammo, two, three maybe four decent hits could actually do a pretty alright job in most situations (and with the right gun, .32ACP would be easy to control and do followup shots with).
Mind you that successful DGU seldom involves a discharge and even less common is having to shoot more than a couple of times.

>>34862061
This too, I wouldn't bother with expansion in small caliber round like .32ACP, not for defense.

Lehigh Cavitators make .32ACP penetrate pretty decently and it's what I would suggest for anyone who wants to carry a slick .32 caliber Beretta pistol.

It's very well build. Not a nail driver by any means. I can get about 2.5-3 MOA with surplus ammo but I also didn't graduate top of my class in the Navy Seals. The RPK receiver its build on and the wood furniture adds a bit of weight. I did a good amount of hiking with it this winter doing coyote hunting tournaments, and it had my shoulders and arms were feeling it by the end of the hunt. To lighten it up I put magpul furniture on it which takes a bit of cutting the plastic and swapping the OEM barrel clamp bolts for longer ones, but it can be done pretty easily.

Overall its a good less expensive alternative to a SVD or PSL to eat up your nugget food.
>>
>>34861611
it's heavy as hell, mags suck, and best I've gotten is around 2 MOA accuracy as finding not-shit 54r ammo in the US is hard (and the cheap shit stuff is hard to find now too). It's one of my favorite rifles, just feels great to shoot.
>>
It's poorly constructed, inaccurate, and unreliable trash. Anyone who says otherwise is objectively stupid.

If you decide to go the revolver route, the Remingtons are much easier to deal with. I've had 2 Remingtons, still have 1 and have shot a few different Colts. Colts, while easier to shoot accurately, jam up pretty easily.

Is the F35B worthy of this family tree?
