The story so far:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_China%E2%80%93India_border_standoff
>The 2017 China India border standoff refers to the military border standoff between the Indian armed forces and the People's Liberation Army of China over construction of a road in Doklam, known as Donglang, or Donglang Caochang (meaning Donglang pasture or grazing field), in Chinese.
>On 16 June 2017 Chinese troops with construction vehicles and road-building equipment began extending an existing road southward in Doklam, a territory which China asserts be its own under continuous and effective jurisdiction while India and Bhutan consider as Bhutanese territory.
>On June 18, 2017, around 270 Indian troops, with weapons and two bulldozers, entered Doklam to stop the Chinese troops from constructing the road.[3][page needed][4][8] The two sides have since been locked on a standoff.

So I have a new pair of Hi Tec boots that need breaking in. (Probably not my 1st choice in brands, but found them at Kohls and my GF had a 30% off coupon plus it was tax free weekend for clothing purchases)
They seem big and stiff, so I'm trying to break them in slowly, by wearing them around the house for short periods.
How long should it take to break them in, and how can I tell if they're too big? ( or should I just wear thicker and thicker socks until they fit? I should be able to exchange them for another size if I need to. They're the HT Logans btw.
>>34921886
Wear them around the house everyday for a few hours for at least a week or two. Also make sure to wear the thickest socks you can find.
>>34921886
wear them.
/thread
>>34921886
Wear them when you run errands/are out of the house for short periods of time.
Is it douchey to wear goggles at the range? I trust my eyesight to them more than some $3 home depot glasses.
>>34921823
Just get properly rated shooting glasses or safety glasses.
There's no need to look like GWOTman, fighter of the brown man at the range.
I mean, far be it from me to tell you what you can and cannot wear but people will probably think you look silly unless your range is very sandy and windy.
>>34921854
>Just get properly rated shooting glasses or safety glasses.
yea.
This is actually mandatory at my range. Except for people with actual prescription glasses....
>>34922025
I only wear prescription glasses myself, but they really offer no protection at all. I'm considering going back to contacts and start wearing proper shooting eye pro again, since I can't afford prescription safety glasses.

It will never live up to the fame and use of the AR
Except in this case I don't think the glock had anything to do with it. So yesterday I was at the range shooting reloads from Bite the Bullet, which I have never had any issues with (never had a single FTF/FTE/jam/mishap of any sort with my glocks actually after tens of thousands of rounds). I was shooting my 43 and had a FTF, with the unspent round (striker had hit primer) jammed super hard into the chamber. I can't rack the slide back so I take it down and am able to get the barrel out and pull the round out with the might of Thor using a shell casing. I Barney it back into the chamber and it fires and ejects perfectly (although that probably wasn't such a good idea). Later on the exact same thing happens, only this time the round is jammed against the firing pin housing and I can't get the barrel out. The RSO is able to jimmy the extractor with a screwdriver enough to drop the barrel out, but this time the round is jammed in there so hard they have to take it and yank it out with pliers or whatever.
What could have caused this? Like I said those were the only 2 failures I've EVER had with my glocks. I got the usual lecturing from the RO about shooting reloads and got told I was lucky the gun didn't blow up, which I'm sure I'm about to get again, but I have been using them for a long time and never had an issue. The casings in question here had no visible damage or anything. They had been sitting loose in a closed ammo box in my closet for quite awhile and I live in a very dry and high altitude place, could that or the storage have factored in?
Just a guess but
It sounds like the bullet wasn't seated in the chamber properly and was sticking out to much and getting stuck in the barrel
Or
The brass is fucked up and too wide
OP do you have any rounds left to compare to?
>>34921717
Yeah I have plenty and I went through them, and just like the 2 here in question I didn't notice any obvious deformities

I'm trying to decide between this used m&p and a new SD40VE.
What risks am I taking buying this used? Also has anyone ever bought from this site?
>>34920784
M&P is much better than the SDVE. SDVE's are cheap junk the triggers suck and the overall quality is poor. I work at a large gun store and the only people that buy them are either know nothing first gun owners, women, or niggers.
It's generally pretty safe to buy used if it's listed by a reputable store or you know the person but if you do it's a good idea to inspect the firearm first. You will want to inspect the bore make sure the crown hasn't been damaged etc.
>>34920876
Is a damaged crown common for these guns,?
Why .40?

So he destroyed a $600 suppressor by being a faggot. So what?
Why?
for all of you fuckers who did read into this story, this actually happened at my local gun range in WA state. It was actually a going away gift for the store manager, who was leaving for something.
Hey /k/, I was out shooting my RIA TAC 1911 with a buddy yesterday and at one point when he was shooting it he reacted like something hit his face. I asked him what's wrong and he said a sliver of something/felt like metal nicked him just above the eyebrow. I asked if it was the casing but he said he saw it fly elsewhere. After breaking it down I noticed pic related, could this have been it and is it worth contacting RIA to get a new slide?
On a semi related note, the rear sights always come loose when shooting but are rock solid when I stop shooting for a while. Riddle me that.
I doubt it, back blast you can feel is usually either powder or the bullet fragmenting and coming back or the target fragmenting.
Not usually the gun fragmenting, and that looks small to my eyes.
>>34920508
That strip between the slide catch and take down whatever you call it is about 3/8" long, you would definitely feel that if it flew back and hit your face.
>>34920535
Looks like hard friction to me as opposed to fucking metal splintering...
But OP should probably call those pinoy bastards anyway.
Only faggots in Hondas that have never been off of pavement think truckguns are a meme.
Real men who drive trucks on country roads and over pastures (and over liberals), and that have big brass balls that clank together when they walk, have a gun in their truck for gathering meat and dispatching stray varmints/minorities.
I picked this SKS with Tech Sights for a song. It's pretty much the perfect truck gun, about as powerful as .30-30, good out to 300 yards for anything shy of an elk, and fast enough to fire/reload that it would be formidable for self-defense.I'm pretty impressed with the TechSights. They haven't lost zero once, despite removing the dustcover several times.
It basically stays in the back of my GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Z71 Texas Edition (love the chrome wheels).
Post Truck/Gun combos!

I'm looking to buy my first .45 just as a for fun gun, I already have a 9mm and want another handgun in the quintessential American caliber.
Is the FNX45 a good choice? Squishy squish memes aside is there any downsides to them?
>double stack
>fully ambidextrous
>15 round capacity is probably the highest of any standard .45 handgun magazine
>good trigger and ergos
It just seems like a really good handgun overall, its nearest competitor the Glock 21 is only $100 less and holds 2 less rounds, doesn't look as good and has crappy ergos and isn't DA/SA.
The only downside the the extremely pricey $45 mags but aside from that it seems to be very reasonable
Any reason not to buy one?
BTW I'm not referring to the $1200 Tac version, just the standard one
>>34920381
I can't think of any alternatives in the price range.
I say go for it.
That or a usp would be good.
Which ever you prefer.
