New /k/fag here I was wondering if there are any comfy /k/ themed youtube channels, the only military based channels I can find are a bunch of TOP 10 AMAZING GUNS and shit like this.
Something talking more about and discussing the military in general instead of just guns is preferred.

Interested in history? The Great War is retelling the story of WW1 with the events 100 years ago each week. There's also many special episodes that go in depth on particular topics like politics, weapons, tactics, etc.

I like Military History Visualized, its got detailed a varied content that is incredibly informative and I like Bismarck for aviation history. The Great War is just a fantastic channel in every sense. The Tank Museum is great and along with The Chieftain you can get a lot of great content on tanks from all periods. If you haven't already heard of Forgotten Weapons, look it up you'll learn even more about the firearms you do know about and you have the chance to see the disassembly of some of the world's rarest firearms.
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION /K/?
I was browsing the /sg/ (Syria General) and came upon several vids of artillery being dropped on entrenched positions

The hits seem almost directly on top of the trenches.IS there even hope for infantry who come under fire from artillery. What should they do, hunkerdown and pray or run like shit down a leg and hope they escape the blast radius in time.
>>34923005
The idea of a trench, or a foxhole even, is a good concept when getting shelled. The only difference is now days weapons are pinpoint accurate.

they've already fucked up, you shouldn't let the enemy know what or where to use mortars/arty. guerrilla warfare 101, keep moving.
>>34923092
Thats not reassuring freindo.
So whats the point if you spend an hour or so digging in if your just going to get 'pinpoint' artty brought down on you.The only hope you have is that the spotters call it wrong ir that your dealing with shit teir soviet block guns lobbing lead at you.
What say you? $1,100 eh?

Barrel shroud easily comes loose (depends on your particular one I guess). Mine case loose after 200 rounds.
You can't really properly lock it back as tightening the shroud loosens the barrel from the frame. You have to send it back to S&W. However I used a dan wesson barrel shroud nut tool to tighten it plus some loctite blue. After this fix I've shot about 600 rounds and it's been fine.
Light primer strikes with stock firing pin on DA. have to buy an extended one.
Excellent trigger.
I get 3 inch groups at 25 yards SA.
DLC finish is very resistant to wear/chemicals/heat, but scratches easily.
Bottom rail is kinda pointless IMO, not many lights fit properly.
I got mine for 1k. You can do better than 1.1.
Uses standard N Frame parts.

Hello /k/
So we all know that shotguns are shit firearms for home defense. They are slow to operate, have low ammunition capacity, over penetrate like crazy, and are large and unwieldy. The argument is now down to which is better for a home defense firearm, the pistol or the rifle. One offers a one handed operation, but the other is more devastating. What are your thoughts?
>shotguns are shit firearms for home defense
>>34922836
Nice argument.
As for OP >>34922826 Handguns are used to get to your rifles. Simple as that.
>>34922863
>Handguns are used to get to your rifles.
who fucking invented this meme statement?
The only battlefield a legged combat vehicle would have an advantage over wheeled or treaded competitors is a heavily fortified battlefield.
Design parameters of a vehicle that has to fight fortifications heavily favor firepower, armor, and terrain passability which all play into the favor of legs.
A legged combat vehicle would have it's primary weapon placed in a fixed mount like the S-Tank because it reduces space requirements which allows for larger weapons and simpler geometry of design.
Fixed weapon mounts have simpler geometry which is easier to armor than a turret or even casemate, Additionally multiple legs gives redundancy to mobility and aiming a fixed weapon unlike the S-Tank.
Legs may have a limited top speed which can only be partly negated by wheels on the feet for on road travel, But having to fight through very rough or forfeited terrain maximises the mobility advantage legs have.
Basically the walking assault gun of the future would look a combination of the T28/T95, S-Tank, and John Dur Walking Tractor.
Ultimately though, No nation at this time has the political reason or wherewithal to develop or breach modern fortifications.
No fortifications no walking combat vehicles.
>>34922802
>John Dur
>>34922802
What about space?
>>34922802
I can see walking assault guns being used in future combat on low-gravity planetoid. There is a certain tactical gain in having a big cannon able jumpjet up from a crater/dune, take a shot then be down again before anyone can return fire.
I'm thinking resource-centered brush wars between corporations outside Earth control, on planetoids ripe with valuable elements worth mustering a company of men and a few mechs to slug it out over it.
I have a question/k/
If i dont have a free floated handguard on my ar, does resting the grip of my rifle on cover have the same affect as resting my barrel on cover for harmonics?
Eg, shooting high

If the AK was meant to be fielded as a submachine gun why did they use a 16 inch barrel?
And why was 7.62x39 used in the SKS first? It definitely wasn't a sub gun.
>>34922343
It was designed to replace a submachine gun, not be one.
The SKS was to replace the Mosin, and a common caliber made sense

So guys, i got an old hi power clone last month and I'm pretty sure the extractor is trash on it.
My question is, where the hell do you buy new ones at? Or even used ones that are in decent shape. I've been the scouring the internet for a few weeks now and nothing.

think this'll do ya?
so, i'll just assume you didn't respond because you bought that part, it was the wrong one and the subsequently gun blew up killing you.
why does the military protect it's killers?
>>34922020
Because no matter what you do to make training safe, there will still be deaths that result from it. It sucks but that's what happens when you have some very grueling standards for training.
>>34922020
Like... in general or for this one specific case?
>>34922020
protip; the military trains killers.
