Atlantic has these UZI carbines built on Mckay receivers. Anyone know if they're worth a damn?
I want one primarily because they're cool looking.
>never picked up an Uzi carbine when they were $500 or less
>never picked up one of those mp5k clones when they were $900 a few years ago

When the Unimog was first produced its inventor wanted it to never be used as an implement of war, but instead to make the life of many civilians better.

Its more useful as a combative weapon but since this is just going to be racked most of the time and maybe used to shoot at tripfags who make fun of my rifle I'm fine with the sacrificed use

Someone just made a polymer replica of a Bren Ten. It's all plastic and wouldn't work.

The guy said it was a prototype and implied he might end up making it, but no other info.

Doea it fit 4.5 or 5.5mm pin?
why aren't snipers given more firepower?
instead of being issued a handgun as a sidearm, why not a PDW?
>>34925661
They heavy, and if you end up needing to use one you fucked up.
>>34925661
Because the firepower doesn't make a difference, but the weight does.
It doesn't matter what you have, you and your spotter and your security guy aren't going to stop an infantry platoon, squad, or even fire team that found your hide.

>Because the firepower doesn't make a difference
>a semi automatic 9mm handgun that weighs almost 1 kilogram and takes 17 round mags with an effective range of 30-40 meters
>a select fire sub machine gun with 40 round mags, shoots a much better cartridge with an effective range of 100-200 meters, weights 2 kilos
gee i'm not sure which gun i'd wish i have if i spot a couple of patrolling enemies who are way too close to me.
i believe it is the exact opposite, a couple of kilograms more does not hurt especially if you are trained to carry that weight and it's a good improvement.

SOUTH CHINA SEA - The guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) was involved in a collision with the merchant vessel Alnic MC while underway east of Singapore and the Strait of Malacca on Aug. 21.
The collision was reported at 6:24 a.m. Japan Standard Time, while the ship was transiting to a routine port visit in Singapore.
Initial reports indicate John S. McCain sustained damage to her port side aft.
Search and rescue efforts are underway in coordination with local authorities.
Seriously what's with all the collisions these days?
Well that's going to cause a tumor.
>>34925561
Like senator like ship!
>>34925561
As a side note, both Fitzgerald and McCain are the same squadron based in Japan
Why cant we go to war somewhere nice?

Steve gives the NZ patrol ration a try, and it apparently has a very aggressive heating element.
You know, I never considered custard as a MRE feature, but it makes sense. It's protein, sugar, and fat, a very basic cocktail with high food-energy density.
And it tastes like dessert.
I remember in Japan I had a wonderful sort of savoury custard dish. Thinking back, it would make for a decent ration element. I've googled the dish, it's called "Chawanmushi". Image attached. Though the one I had was packed with delicious mushrooms.
>>34925406
Never had that before, would there be any ingredient in it that would prevent it from being an MRE ration?
I remember reading somewhere that a lot of fish-based foods wouldn't work because of how hard fish is to preserve (while having a pleasant taste)
>>34925406
There was a local place that recently went under that served something a but like that, they had some weird anglicized name for it though.

Keep in mind this screenshot is from 2009, and the list has probably gotten larger. From what I have heard, they have a similar policy for rifles and shotguns, and you are not required to pass a probationary period to carry long guns.
They also require officers to qualify with each weapon once a month, instead of most departments which only requires once or twice a year.
>>34925085
Ugh, I hate how accepted Kimber is among the firearms community. They make shitty guns.
Also, why is Ruger on that list? What pistol do they make that's good? Besides that, pretty good list.

God tier
When I was younger dad gave me an old rifle we had for my first durr gun. It had a Leupold scope and I used it for years hunting. I dropped it one time and the scope hit a tree root.
We called up Leupold and they paid for shipping and fixed the scope despite it being nearly 20 years old at the time.
I work at a shop near leupold . Ever few months they'd have to tell the store to remind employees to not send customers over to them unless it's warranty work, since they get people go to them (scope, rifle, and ammo) and wanting them to zero in scope at the super secret indoor range (which they don't have).
I also hate it when people insist on calling them "LEE-OH-POLE"
