What record does the US have of adopting novel armored warfare tech in a timely manner? There's still no APS in full scale service. America didn't even produce a decent tank until the 1940s. M60s were designed for composite armour (hence the flat, wedge shaped front hull) and they dropped the concept. And how long did it take America to make an IFV?
