Someone give me a rundown on the CZ75, I'm about to make it my first pistol

Cool gun, big aftermarket, czechnology.

Nice looking gun. Decent track record. Overpriced. Questionable QC.

What's with the CZ75 B? I just want a regular CZ, what is all this shit
What's the point in upgrading new tanks when the new ones are inferior to the Chinese exported tanks? It's a big waste of money. They should've just bought Chinese.
Also this new tank seems inferior to Arjun II and more expensive too. Only Russia is buying them to keep UVZ afloat.
>new ones are inferior to the Chinese exported tanks
>They should've just bought Chinese.
anyone wanna take this one?

A lot of China's exports are T-72 derivatives. Their export mbt's don't seem that great, however the VT-5 seems like it might be a decent choice for countries that don't have defense requirements that dictate they obtain full weight mbt's.

Greetings /k/. I'm new to the gun ownership world. I come from California and am looking for a fantastic long range rifle I can use for hunting and "defense of the homeland" situations. A semiautomatic is out of the question at this moment because of the political situation here, and we can't hunt here with semiautomatic rifles anyways, so I'm essentially stuck with a colt action rifle for this task until I move out of state in a few years.
TL;DR
>What's a good long range bolt action rifle for hunting and '''tactical''' situations, available in a common caliber? (nothing exotic like .338 Lapua or .408 Cheytac, I have to actually be able to find the ammo, and preferably not at $90 a box)
bolt action*, not colt action.
Why do you need a long range rifle to kill yourself?

>need
I see you haven't been posting here very long
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/08/14/new-russian-9-6x53mm-lancaster-cartridge-366-tkm-news/
>In Russian Federation, rifle license is only available after 5 years on shotgun license
>someone gets idea to convert 7.62mm rifles to "shotguns"
>basically a smooth bore 9.6mm barrel with a fixed rifled "choke" at the end
>make gun fire a .36 caliber "shotgun shell", which in practice is a .36 caliber rifle cartridge, like literally a 7.62x39mm case necked up to 9.6mm
>generally somewhere between 170 and 230 grain projectiles with about 2000 to 2300 feet per second, all with nominal rifle accuracy
>all of this is legally a shotgun
>the cartridge is legally a shotgun shell, meaning it's legal for you to reload and handload (unlike rifle cartridges, for whatever reason)
>the .366TKM cartridge is a massive commercial success in Russia, people are converting old milsurp and building brand new AKs in this cartridge
>the cartridge being a shotgun shell means you can reload it, and the handloading market in Russia grows explosively, the cartridge is easy to handload and 7.62x39mm casings are easy to convert
So not only this a rifle available on the basic bitch smoothbore license, meaning people who needed a rifle but couldn't get one don't need to wait half a decade, but it's largely been proven to be economical and functional and has rejuvenated the Russian firearms market (those sanctions took their toll on their industry) and brought about a revolution of recreational shooting and utility in firearms. Supposedly people have had no issue taking moose with these .36 caliber rifles at a few hundred feet, so it can very well do it's job as the average man's general purpose rifle.
I love it when people find functional ways around silly laws.
politicians need to be gassed desu

We have an AK version of it, also cartridges fit ak mags, and while technically we supposed to pin to 10 rounds, like canada, we ingnore
Hats off to the beautiful fuckers behind all of this. I love you
Currenlty in Texas looking to buy a pistol. Reading up on the gun laws in Hawaii it almost seems like I might have an easier time just buying a rifle rather than a pistol.
Any Hawaii anons that have a handgun or have a good idea of what handguns/hangun features are illegal there?
I'm trying to buy a 9mm while I'm still here in good ol' texas that won't get confiscated by the luau police.
Can I get anything bigger than pic related?
Forgot to mention when I was looking at guns today one of the salesmen mentioned that the rails for putting on attachments might be banned in Hawaii but I can't find anything that says if they are or are not banned.
I'm guessing they aren't.
Also any reccomendations for a 9mm?
and what do they mean when they say barrel shrouds are banned?
>>34985774
>barrel shrouds
that's like the handguard on an AR, so really only applicable to AR pistols and stuff like a TEC-9, the latter likely being the reason they banned it in the first place.

Is the M198 howitzer completely out of service in the United States Army?
according to wikipedia it is.
has been completely replaced by M777.
now unfortunately just display pieces at armories.
What advantages does it have over the M777?
>>34985809
a larger crew...contrary to popular opinion, less is not more.
analog sighting...no computer malfunctions to worry over.
What camouflage pattern is this? Also general good looking camo thread.

How do you carry a weapon responsibly when you don't have a lot of experience with weapons, fighting and training? Is there a certain amount of experience you need to have before you can carry responsibly? or do you just have to be mindful of your lack of experience and not get yourself into situations you can't handle.
I never even shot a gun until I was 25 years old, and that was two years ago. At the moment there are no ranges in my area that let me practice things like drawing from the holster or moving and shooting, I havent found any non BS training instructors who teach that type of stuff without charging an arm and a leg, so all I can really do is practice dry fire and drawing in my room and go to the range twice a month (which is all I can really manage with my schedule) I try to work on a combination of aimed shots, going from low ready position to firing, and double tap drills, but again I never feel like I'm getting enough training in the department of drawing quickly. How can I work on that without access to a shot timer and a range that lets me draw from the holster?
>I havent found any non BS training instructors who teach that type of stuff without charging an arm and a leg
What are they charging, and what are they offering? Expect to pay $100+ for a few hours of good hands on instruction.
>>34985813
Also, consider the following:
Travel and take classes from instructors you like.
You don't need to practice double tap from the holster to get fast. You can practice drawing to low ready separate from low ready to fire.
Find some shooting competitions nearby and compete. Steel challenge, ipsc, 3 gun, anything that lets you do stuff you can't do at a static range.
>>34985918
>>34985813
The one training school in my area is charging $400 for a 4 hour intermediate pistol class, and the concealed class only teaches appendix carry (fuck that) I had a chat with the lead instructor and it just didn't seem like he was offering anything worth that much.
I listen to Primary and Secondary podcast and those guys sound like they know their shit. I'm poor as fuck right now but when I get a better job I'll probably fly down to arizona to take some classes from people like that.

.45-70 for a brush gun unless that can't penetrate adequately for dragons.
.50bmg or 20mm otherwise.

why are they handing them out to regular people though?
Alright /k/ give me the skinny on black powder revolvers. Good idea for someone who can't purchase a pistol or demonstrably bad idea? Moreover post 1851 Navy pics, they give me a half chub.
While technically legal for felons and people who otherwise can't legally purchase firearms, I wouldn't recommend it. If you get caught with it odds are you'll face the same charges as if it were a cartridge weapon, and even if it gets dropped you'll be fucked by legal fees. That said my Walker is probably the most fun gun I own
>>34985063
It's a gun and like any other gun it spits lead—perfect if you have nothing else. Loading is a process but is simple. Finding actual black powder can be difficult and expensive, so make sure whatever you buy also works fine with black powder substitutes.
Also, be sure to read about chain fires. Here's a good website for explaining them and how they can be prevented.
http://www.geojohn.org/BlackPowder/bps2.html
Happy shooting.
Some dispensary workers carry them here in Colorado, since they can't have firearms in their pot shops. Saw a guy with a chest bandolier with 3 loaded black powder pistols. Actually looked like a badass pirate, knappy hair and shitty breath to boot.

Owning a PC is retarded and a waste of money unless you have a job that requires it
A helmet, on the other hand, is cool for night vision or cameras and for general protection against bumps and falls.
>>34985041
>he dosent practice with his plate carrier
KEK.
How did they determine who would be among the first to climb the ladders?
bump
Did they send the condemned to storm the walls first?
this guy
A lot of the time young knights/officers with a desire to prove themselves would volunteer themselves and their men for such duties. Completing an escalade and surviving meant some serious glory.
Name a gun released between 1970 and 1999 and I will try and find first impressions and professional reviews and comparisons in my stack of Guns & Ammo magazines. I don't have every issue. Maybe half. Ask away! Have not been able to find what month of 1981 the G17 was released but I think that's a good starting point.
