I found this a while ago and some threads on the high road about ".30 WCF" small game loads and absolutely had to find loads to make shotguns, rifles, and handguns perform nearly the same.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_uNl4vULRc

I also found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYleuf8xRgQ basically saying that the powder can shift farther from the primer and cause slow detonations which smokeless barrels hate.

I need powders and loads that take up a large amount of a .308/7.62x51 case, that launches a 50 gr+ projectile sub sonic.

On the subject of shotguns though i have a 26" barreled H&R singleshot, why shouldn't I have a gunsmith sidemount a 4x scope. Same question about a very quiet light load for 12ga, what grains of shot and powder

Forgot to post but I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a henry long ranger in .308 seeing as a .260/6.5CD/.257 roberts Lever action will never hit production lines. What's a good muzzle break and comp combo i can stick on the end of the barrel so i can take both more game in one day.
>>
>>34990119
Look into George Nonte's stuff. He talks about these "gallery loads" also called "cat sneeze" loads.

The dangerous Secondary Explosive Events happen with slow powders. Most people who do this use really fast flake powders. Bullseye and Unique are the go to powders. Stay AWAY from slow powders. The Hornady manual specifically notes that low charges of slow powders are bad juju. With rifle cases they sometimes use a teflon puff to keep the powder against the primer.
>>
>>34990119
I didnt watch the videos, but in general you can just fill the rest of the case with cream of wheat or something similarly inert to prevent powder shift. Starting with a high volume low power powder like trailboss helps.

Why does Japan even bother with an army? If anyone landed on Japan, that's because the navy is BTFO, and at that point Japan has lost anyway.
Unless of course the army is for invading other countries or subduing political dissent.

So /k/ I recently made a snap gun buy on PSA's website for the VP9 tactical. I already have the standard VP9, and was wondering if I should keep it or try and trade it/private sell it for something else. I kinda want to get a nice security six, or an AR. Are there any real advantages to having two of the same gun?

>>
>>34989899
Sell it lad. Same caliber and all so I don't see a reason to keep it. Maybe sell it for cheap to a close family member? Covert them to HK
>>
>>34989899
Having two of the same gun isn't necessarily a bad thing.

If you have parts break on one you can just steal them off the other one until you can get replacements. You can use one as a bedside/carry gun and train with the other one since they're so similar, and the bedside/carry one will always be clean.

Admittedly those are kind of weak arguments, but at least now since you bought one recently you can get the HK four free mag rebate deal.
>>
>>34989899
If it's your carry gun then having a spare, should anything break, is a good idea.

Much past that and I personally don't see a point. Always kinda fun to check out arfcom and how many people have like nine of the same polymer striker fired service pistol.

Hello /k/ommandos, I recently brought a friend of mine to the range and he shot my Mauser and my range buddy's Remington 700. He's now quite interested in getting a rifle himself. He's looking for a cheap, realiable, scope mountable .308 rifle, probably with synthetic stock. We've been looking at the options and something like a Winchester XPR seems to be what we're aiming for. You can get one of those new for ~550€. He plans on spending around 300€ on a scope for it. You guys have any recommendations? Keep in mind we're in Austria so some rifles that are cheap in the US aren't cheap here. Pic related is the XPR and roughly what he wants.

If you buy cheap shit, you're going to regret it. 308 isn't 22, the barrel heats up very quickly and precision takes a toll.
Bare minimum to have fun with a 308 rifle is Rem 700 with a heavy barrel. Same thing for scopes, don't buy chinkshit. Aim for Vortex/Leupold/Bushnell Elite series.

700s are customizable with competition and tactical stocks down the road.
>>

>>34989407
Hm, from what I've read the XPR seems pretty good. He's also thinking about a Howa 1500. Doesn't Remington have some quality problems since their takeover? My buddy's 700 is pretty nice but I think that was pre-takeover. I know that cheap scopes are shit but around 300 should get him something decent. It's not like he's aiming for perfect accuracy. He just wants something decent that works and is good for weekend paper shooting. He wants to spend around 900€ on Rifle+Scope around christmas. He's going to use his bonus to buy it. He's considering the XPR because it costs right around 900€ from a reputable gun store with a Walther PRS 2,5-15x50 scope. That decent?
>>
>>34989534
The Howa 1500 is a really good option. Get one with a thicker barrel, and you're set. You can doll it up with all manner of aftermarket parts to turn it into what he wants.
For a scope,
...Then he'll shoot it for a while and wish he had paid extra for a Blaser R8 and a Swarovski scope instead of the no doubt perfectly fine one he has, but that's buyer's remorse for you.

Yes, it works against copies of the RPG-2 homemade in the jungle.

Sure, a homemade RPG-2 is impressive, but they've been making these for decades and haven't made any improvements over the tech, those lazy bloody fliproaches.

These questions are gonna seem ridiculous and stupid but I guarantee there's a good reason behind asking them.
1. Is a Napalm round even possible? From what I understand pic related wouldn't work but it could with different materials.
2. If it was, how would the fire spread? Quickly or normally?
3. If you were to set off this Napalm round by open palm slapping the shell into someone's face or side, would your hand be lit on fire by the Napalm too?
4. Can you put Napalm out if it's on one part of your body by digging a hole in the dirt, shoving your hand in that hole, and pouring drinking water in the hole/dirt/your hand to smother the flame?

Cut the top off a 12 guage shell. Empty the lead, remove the sabbot. Fill it with gun powder and crimp it back up.

All I know is should get one hell of a fireball.
>>
>>34988961
But thing is I'm looking for something that would start a serious fire that would spread rapidly on a person's body, or even more preferably start a forest fire.
I'd think a big ole' fireball would cause a bit of flame to catch in the area the shell was smacked against but not the type of fast burn I'd want.
