So I have an M1a scout. I know a guy who sells used military surplus optics for cheap so I grabbed an aimpoint comp m4s for cheap and threw it on the forward rail. Works decent withiut a cheek riser but I'm kinda leaning for something with magnification. Had anyone used the burris scout 2-7x on their m1a ? What other optics does /k/ run on their scout ?
....Also battle rifle/ SHTF / your favorite rifle general. Post those beauties. Especially .308s. Shotguns welcome too.

So right now I'm getting a tuition-free Masters of Arts degree while pursuing a useful internship. It is entirely possible for me to graduate from this and get a real world job.
...or I could continue to indulge romantic fantasies of joining the military. After getting a BA I enlisted as a 35p in the Army and graduated from the DLI with a 2/3/1+ in Korean. Then they kicked me out over bullshit. That was a miserable experience where my 1st sergeant was a black lesbian woman and all the NCOs were fucktards.
What about becoming an officer? I've always dreamed of being an officer in the Navy. If I rejoined, I'd go for that. Is it even worth it? Since Trump is prez and he wants to increase military spending, will that create more demand for people and it won't be the crushingly negative downsizing environment it's been for years past?
Should I just give up on the military completely and accept that it's just voluntary hazing and not worth my time?

My wife had depression and I did not know about it. She would scream and throw tantrums and I had no idea how to stop it. One night when she was screaming over suspecting me of cheating I tried to calm her down by hugging her and covering her mouth. Suffice to say the cops got called and I was arrested since touching someone in this way is "false imprisonment" and "domestic battery." I was given a misdemeanor and apparently this falls under domestic violence. I had to meet with a counselor who realized what bullshit all that was and become a firm ally of mine who vehemently rejected that I had done anything wrong to my wife. The military didn't give a damn probably because they were downsizing.
In addition, some soldiers had messed with me and my wife was angry at them. She stupidly took to MY facebook account and harrassed a soldier with repeated angry messages. Since it was on my account the military thought I was doing it. Despite me and my wife clarifying the issue, the military didn't give a damn, probably because they were downsizing.
Finally, I posted pictures like pic related and other obvious pol-tier humor on my Facebook which wasn't as private as I thought it was. In my separation packet they used these images to conclude that I am a "white-supremacist neo-nazi communist" and I had to talk with the FBI, who realized it was all a misunderstanding. But the fucking military didn't give a damn, probably because they were downsizing.
NONE OF THIS MATTERS. Just answer the questions I posed in the OP.

Boot general.
This should be a short thread Im sure but Share tips/tricks on boot shining upkeep and share preffered type of tactical boot.
A lil about me, I am a naval cook. And for the life of me I cant shine My boots. I can do everything cept that.
I can iron uniforms like a first class. I can keep sailors in line like a chief. I can clean the grease trap like a pro. But for the love of kek I can not shine my boots. Im not sure what I am doing wrong.
Any tips?

Bootblacks typically used a heat gun when I was in, so I copied them.
Open can of polish, ignite with lighter briefly until you see a liquid puddle the size of a quarter, snuff polish with can lid. Remove lid, use cloth or shop rag to daub polish on boot and work it around. Follow up with shoe brush. A heat gun is even better because you can coat the boot then heat the coating. Heat guns are cheap. Before they became common we used blow dryers and many still do.
AF workcenters always had a shoebox or ammo can full of boot care shit and I have one at home. Ammo cans are perfect for the job because you can use them for a foot rest.

Should take 4-5 hours to get a never shined pair to mirror, then about an hour to maintain them periodically.

I had a recent experience that made me glad I conceal carry and I was wondering whether you have done something like this.
One morning before sunrise I was waiting for the bus with a girl, couldn't have been older than 14. We were both enjoying our Cell Phones when a latino or possibly asian man crept up behind her. Quick as a wink the sickly grinning man reached up her skirt and began to cut off her underwear with a knife. I didn’t miss a fucking beat. I pulled out my Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 9mm and pointed it at the sicko. “Get the fuck lost, pedophile,” I growled. The bastard immediately dropped the knife and the girl’s panties and took off running, no doubt shitting his own panties on the way. The girl hugged me and said “Now I finally understand why my father conceal carries.” I nodded. “You can’t be too careful in a town like this.” The bus arrived, and I made sure she got off at her school safely. Felt like I made a difference for days after.

Anyone here have experience with multiple XD pistol variatons? I just had a chance to take my Mod.2 Compact to the range, but I curious about how the XD(M) compact with the longer barrel, slide that doesn't taper towards the top, and interchangeable back straps would shoot. Also, the XDS has a Glock style trigger that might be a little better than the trigger the double stacks.

Yeah. My friend owned an XDM and I had the fullsize XD. We both bought it with that rebate offer they did a while back.
We eventually came to our conclusions about them after a few months. Basically we realized that we just tried to get a cheaper Glock. We eventually put our GRIP ZONE™ in the TRASH ZONE™ and bought Glock 19's because we weren't going to be kidding ourselves anymore. After that I got a new 6 figure job, a smoking hot wife, and now my 3rd kid is on the way. My friend joined the Army and he's 1 month away from finishing the green beret pipeline.
