*REPOSTING BECAUSE I GOT AN ANSWER BUT THE LINK WAS DEAD WHEN I WAS ABLE TO VIEW IT*
Greetings /k/,
After completely modeling the stock for the M1A chassis I am designing I figured it would be far lighter and stabile if I could build it to connect directly with the receiver rather than being held in to a stock by the trigger guard.
The receiver blueprints I have that I have looked at are very faded and whole sections of it have completely missing information.
Here is where is the link that I downloaded the receiver blueprints from:
http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=9080
Please send me some other more complete M14 Receiver schematics!
Best,
LeMartin

Look at weaponeer and weaponsguild for more info, you might find some people who have experience with this build.

It would be lighter and more stable if in addition to the stock you just reengineer the receiver, trigger, and gas system.

you waited too long. they are hardly worth the money today. that being said look for a Finnish M39
get good health insurance for the severe upper body injuries that you are going to sustain firing it
Was thinking of getting this as my first gun and for CC. Thoughts on the .32 Tomcat?
Only good if you have arthritic old woman and can't rack a slide. Otherwise there are much better options.

I meant "are an" not "have".

Quite possibly the most useless cartridge you can get a handgun in, and that's saying something since virtually all handgun calibers are terrible at killing people.
are special forces just a meme?
>Train 12 navy seals + 8 night stalkers (1 million each in training + equipment)
>a dozen illiterate afghan goat herders (200 dollars max per person in training/equipment)
special forces proceed to get blown the fuck out. Seriously what is even the point of special forces when all you need are a few dozens of peasants with aks and rpg-7s

Maybe OP doesn't know what bullets are, maybe he thinks operators carry deflector shields or some voodoo magic, maybe he just watched lone survivor and came here to bitch about it.
What is it about 10mm that attracts the worst people in the firearms community? Do any of you guys carry a 10mm? Why?
General 10mm discussion welcome.

The Tater likes 10mm and he seems like an alright guy

10mmfags are people that obsessively oogle on about ballistic charts but would quickly google what a shot timer is if someone ever mentioned one.
They are completely incapable or oblivious to the fact that being successful in a defensive shooting situation is largely depended on skill and mindset, not caliber selection.
A skilled shooter that has consistent 0.20 splits with a 9mm will outperform a sweaty neckbeard who has never shot past 14 yards with an acceptable level of accuracy.
The ones who actually carry 10mm as a backup weapon in the woods are the only alright ones. The fags that tout the Glock 29 as the ideal ccw have no idea what they're talking about and should be laughed at then ignored.
At the end of the day, pistol calibers suck balls and a shitty shooter sucks even more balls.
>>33333107
Split times don't mean shit if your shot placement is garbage.
Not defending 10mm fags but you gotta focus on hitting the heart or central nervous system, you can plug somebody with 30 rounds of 357 but that won't mean shit if it doesn't take out a vital organ.
You're ahead of the game if you're using a shot timer but split times are not the be all end all.
/k/ what's the most Ghetto firearm ever? Is it the Hi-point carbine 9mm? AK family? Glock 40s? Guns from Kel-tec? Sigma 9mm?

/k/ why the fuck does the army have such a low score to be able to get in, and why the fuck did they lower it....I was considering signing up to be a drone operator but I dont want to be surrounded by fucking idiots. seriously, how the fuck can you not score above a 30....

You see fellow West Virginian, it is an organization that is built on manpower. Without those that fill the requirement of "can breathe, can run, can lift" then no branch of the military can function. Those with 45s and below are there because, when invading foreign lands, there is none of the equipment that would normally make someone of such stupidity useless. There will always be a low man needed for an organization that operates independently of the rest of the world. You have to realize that the low tier workers around you are all in that 30-45 range, it is just that you overlook it. only when drone pilot and grunt are put side by side do you see how much society needs retards to be manual labor.
You will be surrounded by retards and assholes even if you work with no one with a score below 85, it's just how it goes. Some people enjoy it for that fact, you get to experience shit you would never see, hear, or witness. otherwise. Being around some real whisky tango motherfuckers broadens your horizons.
In the end everyone's intelligence kind of neutralizes. Where everyone wears off on each other till everyone is just screaming "hooah" and "more PT" then getting your shit done. Military life is all about structure, not who makes up that structure.
>airforce for the greatest lack of retards
>followed by army for the opportunity to live the grunt life and have actual opertunity in life
>then the Marines to go all out and be real fucking oorah
>and the coast gaurd so you can be a beach bum and remove drug cartels
>last is navy, because fuck those guys and they are the worst for enlisted and the most retarded

I scored an 88 which I was pretty happy about. But two basketball Americans that took it with me both scored a 7 each. How exactly does someone score that low short of getting their own name wrong?

If you went back in time I wonder what people would say about projects then.
They seem like a really good concept for home defense. Something that fills the gap between pistols and ARs. Pistols require a lot of training and practice to become proficient. ARs are great but 5.56 is kind of overkill for defending a small enclosed space. Why not something in between. A small, lightweight carbine that you can hand to pretty much anyone and they will be able to hit whatever is in front of them.
>>33331706
Because 5.56mm IS the "in between" caliber. That's why it exists.
>Muh over penetration
Buy hollowpoints.
>>33331706
What do you mean by small caliber? A pistol caliber carbine?
You mean like a hi-point, not a bad idea to arm people with those for home defense. Despite what people say about the pistols, the carbines are pretty good.
so what is it /k/, /k/anines or /k/atz?

Looking to get a lever action.
Thinking about a Marlin336 currently. Probably in a 30-30.
Is that a good lever action and round? Mostly just looking for something accurate up to 150 yards. Probably won't be doing much hunting with it, but perhaps a little. Looking around on some forums I guess a lot of people said Marlin wasn't too great up until like two years ago, but they are a lot better now.
Thanks
>>33331204
I mean if you're not hunting then just get a pistol caliber one so you can save your money.
>inb4 "hurr durr obsolete gun just get an AR"
Also the other anon has it right, 30-30 is pretty expensive, so think carefully about that
Pump actions, lever actions and bolt actions are next. Here is the logic path they will follow to ban bolt actions, WW1 had bolt action rifles used. Ergo bolt actions are weapons of war. Just use a bow if you want to hunt. Bows and arrows were used during the Plains Wars and in European wars, bows and arrows are weapons of war. Lever actions were used In the Spanish/American war and WW1, lever actions are weapons of war. That is where it will go.
