I need some help /k/, I need a knife for self defense.
I'm a saffer-anon that regularly goes to some pretty hairy places, and with the April 6th prophecy I'm getting in the market for knives I can use for self-defense.
I've already come out on top in a couple of 1v1 encounters, but if I get jumped by more than 1 guy I want to know that I can still deal some damage so that is why I'm just looking for a knife now, because it is looking more and more likely.
Looking for something easily concealable in a back or shoulder harness (both of which I can reach easily and quickly) and is strong enough to survive me sitting on it.
I thought of a fairburn-sykes or ka-bar because fuck it I'm on /k/, but both are too big and heavy.
pic related is my choice so far, United Cutlery Combat Commander Boot Knife. Looks pretty tacticool but I like it
Any advice, tips, or stories to help me out?

...and a COLD STEEL ESPADA XL.
>>33368825
Can't hide a gun the same way I can hide a knife, also handguns are difficult to get hold of here.
also not on the list: pepper spray and tasers because im not a faggot
How did these guys not become part of Hitlers regime?
>>33368818
Money and infrastructure.
They didn't want to be, and Germany was too busy to force them to
>>33368826
>>33368829
Wrong.
The same reason why he didnt attack Spain, they werent part of the Holy Roman Empire.
Whats this? Does it worth anything?
>>33368801
I'll give you a box of crayons and a gold plated strap on dildo for it.
It looks like a German Stallhelm helmet
Where did you find it? That's an important detail
>>33368801
WW2 German helmet? And not much in that condition.
So, does any /K/ommando here have one?
Anyone with the folding stock?
I need measurements of the stock, so I can CNC that bitch.

I'm very interested in caseless ammunition weapons. I've found these documents talking about the good, the bad and history of such weapons.
http://www.forgottenweapons.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Caseless-Ammunition-Small-Arms.pdf
http://www.forgottenweapons.com/wp-content/uploads/TRWMG/TRWCaselessMG.pdf
Do you think we can ever develop a reliable design using such ammo?
Wasn't the G11 pretty much ready to be adopted but then the SU collapsed?
>>33368297
Not much worse than the M16, except the M16 failed every test except full auto accuracy.
That's part of the story, yes.
Of course the G11 wasn't a good gun. It was overly complex, the ammunition was fragile and as most other caseless designs, the advantages of using caseless ammo were offset by design limitations.
I think we should retry, but thinking small and simple. For example: could a lever-action rifle work with caseless ammo if the chamber was slightly modified to properly seal the gases?
Ruger hate/appreciate thread. I have an SR9 and it has yet to let me down.
10/22s are some of the best 1st guns you can get, and almost everyone has one.
I've also had one of their American bolt action rifles, and enjoyed that quite a bit.
>>33367872
Yea, but it's ugly.
>>33367872
I have 3 guns from ruger. All have been good.
How could the US have advanced their small arms technology better in the WWII period and after instead of sticking with the M1 Garand for about 30 years?
Not that they had to, just for the sake of discussion.
For example could the BAR have been replaced with an improved automatic rifle, such as the Johnson LMG, instead of still using Great War designs 20-30 years later, or the Johnson LMG developed into a belt fed sort of GPMG to compete with weapons like the FG-42 and MG-34?
>>33367844
protip: small arms are just there for show
american military doctrine: advance until you take casualties, take cover, call in airstrike, advance until you take more casualties
>>33367844
Still won.

Hello /k/ommandos, kraut in the market for a semi-automatic .308 rifle here.
What do you guys reccomend?
I've heard good things about HKs and shot 2 different MR308s, and I've heard bad things about SIG 716s, which I've shot once aswell (no obvious flaws though).
>>33367836
>MR308
Only ever held one in a store. It seemed really solidly built and aesthetically pleasing. I've seen it get pretty glowing reviews as well. The only downside I've seen from handling one is that it's heavy. I'm saving for a scar even though they're way overpriced now. I was in love with it from the first time I shot it. Idk if you can get those in Germany, but if it's possible, I'd suggest checking it out. Also consider an LMT MWS if you're looking at an MR308.
Also, I've been looking at the MR308 with the 20"-barrel, I suppose that would be the best bet to get the most accuracy out of the platform. Or would the 18"-version be better?
I know of AR-10s from Oberland and DPMS that are available here, but I haven't had the chance to shoot any of them myself yet.
Scar 17s are kinda out of the question, shit availability and even worse price.
What else is there? I'd appreciate input from some fellow euros.
>>33367836
Fellow /k/amerad here
I bought a MR308 A3 16,75" recently and I've shot the SIG 716 several times.
Accuracy wise both are about the same with cheap ammo (2-3cm).
I prefer the ergonomics of the MR, but because of propietary everything made by H&K everything is pretty expensive.
I picked this up the other day for $3. I think I've ID'd it as a Petty Officer Second Class, Aviation Machinists Mate. It's dated 1942. Can anyone confirm that it's legit? How did I do, /k/?
Here's a picture of the back. Says 1942, and stitching is done through the bars so it doesn't show on the other side.
yeah it's legit and you're right about po2 and aviation machinist mate. i guess it's ok
Found it in a random antique shop, didn't even know they had patches. If it's real, what are some ways I can preserve it to keep it in good condition?
Can you? Is it even legally possible?
>4,500 rounds/minute
>>33367774
but you cant move it around so it doesn't count?
>>33367803
Not really how that works
I'll be working nights at a hotel soon. I typically carry a .38 snub nose with +P JHPs but now I'm wondering if I should find something lower velocity for this target-saturated environment. I know hollowpoints have a nice tendency to spend their energy in material rather than penetrate it, but it has to be a cartridge that I can confidently fire straight through a hotel wall into a room full of giggling babies. Otherwise, a prudent man is compelled to downgrade to mace or something.
Have ammo manufacturers tried to fill this niche? Maybe some hugely slow and heavy bullet. Are normal hollowpoints already good enough?
>>33367669
>shooting through a wall into a room of babies
Im assuming you're kidding on this bit
In my uninformed opinion, what you're using should be fine. Hollowpoints shouldnt be going through walls anyway, although if you tried you would probably have some success. Enough to danger the people on the other side, but not enough to actually do anything you intend
Just actually hit the guy when you aim
Out of curiosity, what model snubbie?
>>33367690
>Im assuming you're kidding on this bit
I'm just thinking of the worst possible case. Bad-guy is approaching in a line perpendicular to the rooms, I miss, and the shot enters the wall at a straight angle.
As for the gun, it's an LCR-X. Nothing classy.
>>33367669
The heavier a bullet is the better it will penetrate barriers. It's all about that energy retention mang. DESU what you have now (lighting bullet traveling not too fast) is probably your best bet. Just load up the lightest hollow points you can.
Don't stop carrying a gun just because you're afraid of overpenetration.
Why did the south got fucked so hard
The north far outclassed them in manufacturing capability.
>>33367650
As much as I think their cause was retarded they never had a chance to begin with.
1.)Logistically they had significantly less trains, look up the track mileage.
2.)Less manufacturing facilities/ability, they had plantations not factories.
3.)Less bodies to throw at the front.
Its kinda the same thing if you look at Germany during WWII. When you sit back and look at it today you wonder why they spent soo much time/effort/recourses on Tigers and not Panthers and Pz.IVs.
>>33367674
because the far right is retarded and always loses
