This happened when I was about 15-16
>Middle of November, Duck season
>Early morning, just got back from a semi-successful hunt
>Chilling in kitchen cleaning shotgun and listening to music
>Keeping an eye on sister and friend in front yard playing
>Take a piss break for about 3 minutes
>When I get back I notice a red ford pick up truck in front yard with windows down and dude inside talking to sister and friend
>Figure it's just her friend's dad
>He opens door and starts moving closer to both of them
>Dude looks crusty af
>Sister and friend start backing up really uncomfortably
>Load up shotgun with a few shells just because I was worried
>Man lunges towards sister and tries to drag her into truck

>I fucking bolt outside and start screaming at him to fuck off with shotgun raised and safety off
>He pushes my sis her to ground and runs to car
>Pepper back of his truck with a few rounds of birdshot before he peels out of driveway
>Manage to shatter back windshield
>Sister and friend are balling their eyes out
>I pull out my shitty flip phone (mid 2000s) and call sheriff's dept
>Sister barely explains between sobs that the man kept trying to lure them into his car, telling them that he had puppies, candy etc
>When they started trying to go inside he got angry and attacked them
>After waiting for about 20 minutes cops show up
>Explain story and tell them that I fired a few rounds but didn't get license plate
>They lecture me about firing my gun(like i give a fuck) but mainly try to ask me about the creep
They eventually found the guy driving way over the speed limit with the described truck with back window shattered and bird shot marks all over the back of his truck. When they searched his car they found a few rolls of duct tape, a knife, and some weed. My parents were livid when they found out and shelled out a few grand to install security systems and bars on our windows even though we lived in a decent neighborhood.

I mean never... not even if someone offered to buy it for 5x its value. I'm talking so sentimental that you would keep it even if you were suddenly homeless out on the street. If it became illegal to own you would hide it in storage.
Pic related for me. This silly 92FS Inox was the first gun I ever purchased. My wife and half of my noguns family learned to shoot with it. It's been the first gun fired for no less than 20 people. It's dutifully delivered thousands and thousands of rounds downrange without a single malfunction.
I'm taking it with me to my grave.
