Sup /k/,
So what are some things to look out for when looking for a new apartment or dwelling innacity.
A few things I'm looking at right now:
>preferably on the highest floor and with a balcony, so I can put a dualband ham radio antenna on the roof and get good range
>Balcony is also for cooking food. Higher floor means less people can see me or smell the food
>not so high that I can't rappel down from the balcony
>Maybe facing east and get some sunshine for solar
>Nothing on the ground floor at least
For the SHTF itself, if I am home or get home from work, my plan is to just hold it out for some time and eventually bug-out if the situation is that serious. But I would probably ride out the first 2 weeks using the food storage I've built, and monitor communications to find out what is going on and what is causing it.
The distance to the BOL (a cabin in the woods) is at max 80 miles, depending on where I'm deciding to live next. I don't plan on having a vehicle soon, so I'm going to have to bike that distance. I can cover that distance in two days.
My biggest concern is the building catching on fire due to an accident or arson.
My question is: When the SHTF for a couple days, would you hold it out for 2 weeks in a city first and potentially become trapped in a fire, or bug-out much sooner and possibly be robbed or killed while underway? I'd reckon that after 2 weeks either the most desperate and thus dangerous people have found a way to eat or die off.

I live right downtown in Toronto in a very new condo building. I have always wrestled with if I should bug-in or bail ASAP. I sort of think it would be easier to bug out right away since Toronto isn't the most armed place in the world and the confusion might provide some cover. Last thing I want is to wait a bit, bug out, and run in to a bunch of well prepared people picking off whoever is left.

That's exactly the same dilemma I'm facing here. The initial few days would be a clear sailing if you want to get out of the city by bike, since many people would be leaving.
Somehow I'm still attracted to the idea of holding it out for a week or more, to see how people would react.
Then again, I guess that's pretty stupid and I should get out of the city within 96 hours of grid down (I use the moment of grid-down as my starting point when it comes to prepping).
You have 15 years to prepare. Enemies will include giant insects, giant robots, motherships, and kaiju.
What forces do you develop? What R&D do you perform? How do you deploy your forces?

What's the point? Shield is shit.
>>33443791
yeah but then i'd have to have an m&p shield
>>33443809
The shield is not a bad gun.
The only ones who think this are people who have never shot one.
They're nowhere near the best gun ever, but for this price, a great CC option.
How has there not been any threads about this yet?

Dear Ameri/k/unt brothers.
Apache vs SuperCock.
What's your opinion. Both are an option for Poles & other cuntries,
both are field-proven, thought SuperCobra saw limited export.
Both are offered for Poles & Czechs.
We already manufacture parts of BlackCocks in Poland, so we will probably go with Apache, but I want to hear your opinion.

Czechs don't have marines last time I checked. So no good excuse to have more than one type.
I am considering to buy equipment for reloading. I will be reloading: 223, 45, 357, 7.7 Jap. This is just to start. May do 9mm, if the cost/round can get low enough. I know I will need a press and stuff to go along with it. Is there a good reloading book for beginners that will cover these?
>>33442891
Speer, Nosler, and Hornady reloading manuals include guidelines, warnings, and and instructions for beginners. They're manuals, not cookbooks.
Pick whichever one you think you'll be buying more bullets from. Or get all of them, books are always great shelf decoration.
>>33442891
There are actually a bunch for free on Amazon if you're a prime member. Not sure how good they are. I ordered a lee kit and it came with a pretty comprehensive book. Pretty happy with the kit so far.
>>33442923
Same.
I got the progressive press kit and the book is fucking THICC
Despite later hints in favor of the Airbus' AS532 Cougar, army experts are strongly recommending the purchase of UH-1Y Venom, that might be later complemented by its sister model AH-1Z Viper.
Having already experience with Bell-412s from the police service, Czech Army would nonetheless become the first foreign user of the Venom.
>>33442873
Well, since us Poles have told FUCK YOU to french homosexuals and their homosexual helicopter, and looking at American products, parts of which are already produced in Poland, it would be wise of Czechbros to get them.
>>33442894
Bell have strong lobby in Czechia, so the question is not really if, but rather when, and how many. And the army wants about a dozen of them ASAP.
>>33442990
Since we're on the topic, if there are any Amerifags reading - ah, fuck it, I'll make another thread.

hey /k/,
for starters, i know nothing about ballistics
i'm working on an fps game and i'm trying to make the gun damages as accurate as possible
so, is there a formula to determine how much damage a bullet will do?
i was going to work with (Energy * Bullet mass)
is there a better solution or is my formula accurate enough?
pls help
your sincerely, /vg/.
>>33442646
A system of hit probability and being incapacitated by limb/lower torso hits would be more accurate.
>get hit in chest with anything(excluding shot at certain ranges)
Dead
>get hit in the legs/arms/lower torso
In intense pain stopping the bleeding and unable to move or return fire
And good luck with what you are doing. I've never seen one of these damn threads result in a game yet.

>>33442646
That should be basic enough for a non turbo-autistic game. Though if you want to expand the system, you should go to the receiving end and factor in compartmentalized damage (limbs, vitals) and levels of protection. Past that, barrel lengths matter in how well a round performs. There is comprehensive data on bullet ballistics easily available
Also if you are dealing with distances of hundreds of yards, factor in effective ranges.
