Is it bad that I want a jungle carbine in 5.56?
>>
>>33453259
Shorter the round, shorter the cycle.
>>
>>33453259
Fun.
I'd give a kidney for a modern military style bolt action in 7.62x39 or something, specifically if it took Mauser style clips and had a bayonet lug/bayonet.

I would like shorter tang sights though (fifty, hundred, hundred fifty, and so on up to about 500 yards)

Do you guys believe a Felon who has served his sentence, be able to buy/own firearms?
42 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>33453247
Depends on what they did to be a felon
>>
>>33453250
That's irrelevant. If they were released that means that the state finds them safe enough to go back to society.

If they didn't trust them with firearms they shouldn't have been let out.
>>
>>33453247
I'm not american, what kind of crimes are considered a "felony" ?

My father gave me this when I was younger, and I forgot about it til now. I live in Texas so the gun laws aren't very strict.

Is this even an actual rifle?

If so what ammunition would it need, and could the rifle be suppressed further?

And can anyone name this alleged rifle?

Thanks in advance.

So after getting my CatAB, how do I go about getting a gun? I know I need to get a PTA, but do I get the PTA then go to buy the gun or? Also What is the process for buying guns online from say https://www.cleaverfirearms.com/ or https://www.usedguns.com.au/?

Also has anyone shot a tarus circuit judge rifle? are they any good?

BUMP for ausbro
>>
>>33452347
It will depend slightly on your state. But the general process is:

>Pick up/print off a PTA form from eith the police station or their website
>Find a gun you want
>Tell the man selling it that you'd like to buy it, you'l probably pay a deposit and write down serial number, caliber etc. if you're really confused get the dealer to help you.
>Hand in the PTA to the police, some states will let you do all this online.
>Wait
>Between 5 minutes to 5 months later, you'll get your completed PTA handed to you, posted to you or whatever happens in online-PTA states
>Take this to the dealer and swap it for your gun

Now if you don't know exactly what you want, some states will let you submit a "blank" PTA. Which is where you just write the category, calibre and action type of a gun you know of, then the dealer can just change it in the store. I'd recommend against doing this if possible but it is an option.
It will vary by state, some states it's easy as piss (NT for example) and some are hard (eg. WA). The thing that will be an issue is what your genuine reason for applying for a gun is. Usually you just write hunting and everything will get OK'd.

Buying from websites you simply pay them and they will post the gun to a dealer you nominate, you then do the same process as above for your local dealership.

As for the circuit judge, they're shit. The .44 mag one is pretty neat. The .22 one is inaccurate, Taurus is not known for their quality. You can't shoot them as fast as you think you can and the novelty wears off, but after a while. But if you just want something fun to blast cans with, find one for a good price.

Nice memes, the worst tanks belonged to Germany.

Japanese tanks aren't even that bad if you take into account their tonnages.
>>
Soviet tankists used to regard being issued a lend-lease Sherman as a death sentence, so much so that commisars would use it as a punishment.

As the Russians used to say the death penalty was carried out by "Amerikanskaya stal or Russkaya pulya", American steel or Russian bullets.

I think I screwed up /k/.

Did some shooting last weekend, and when I was done I cleaned my 12 gauge, and also ran a cloth with the cleaner over the exterior of the gun. I pulled it out today and it's covered in rust spots. Is this stuff super corrosive?

I did the same to my beretta 92 and it seems fine. How badly did I fuck up and what can I do to fix this?

>>33452102
I hate to say it, but you need to at least have your gun refinished, and the integrity of your barrel may be compromised. Take it to a certified gun smith for a second opinion.
>>
>>33452102
What did you use as "cleaner"?
>>
You used bore cleaner on the finish?

Bad move. Rub it down with a lightly oiled rag, then go over it again with clean dry rags.

well i am a short latino but im also athletic as a bitch. i landscape for a living, so that's not the "point"- mostly the idea of a dirt-cheap, break action, single-shot shotgun for deer/boar/fowl appeals to me.

if this seems self-answering then i'd also like to know if there's any better options in the same price range.

pic related- CVA Hunter, rifled barrel, 20 gauge. worth?

If there's 1 thing Americans need to copy Canadians on it's gun education. Make it a part of the public school system or something. Meanwhile Canada needs to copy America on unrestricted access to funs.

Should I spend more for something nicer?
>>
Get an older model 870. Or a new Mossberg 500. I've had the same 870 since 1977 and it still runs perfectly.
>>
Old Wingmaster would be nice.
A regular 870 is p gud but they had some issues for a while starting in about 2008. Mostly rough chambers that needed to be polished and shitty finishes that needed to be refinished but nothing as bad as how ugly Mossmans are.

Howdy /k/omrades. At the risk of sounding like a shill, MidwayUSA is having a sale on 5.56 right now. 33% off AND a rebate. You get a shirt, too, but I don't care too much about that. 5.56 for under .30/rd ain't too shabby.

>sees price

Why still so unpopular
27 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>33451323
Because the majority of the population, let alone gun owners, don't know much outside of whatever is popular or well known.
>>
Because if you shop around you can get a glock for the same price.

The steyr is neat. It's rad as hell. But it's not the gun you get instead of a glock, it's the gun you get after a glock for the novelty.
>>
>>33451323
Most casual gun owners don't seem to know it exists. It's not something I see in gun stores display counters either. It's also not what I would call "conventionally beautiful."

So /k/ im just curious what you guys thought about guns when you were little I believed that
>Automatics > Semi auto because more bullets equal more dead and that what you want
>Suppressors made the gun impossible to hear
>Bullet drop wasnt real the bullet went exactly to point B
>You didnt have to lead targets
>You dont need an automatic gun
And my personal favorite
