A place to share books, stories, and assorted writefaggotry.
All writing is welcome, even if it's only tangentially related to /k/.
Give thanks to Polybus and Archivefag for keeping /wfg/ afloat.
It's been unscientifically proven that a lack of (you)s for writers can lead depression, alcoholism, story abandonment, and an hero.
But it's so easy to make a difference in a writer's life. Just one (you) a day can make the difference between a happy writer and a writer on permanent hiatus.
Please, post now. Help make a writer's day.

New thread for the Middle East General.
Gonna start with one new update; reports coming in of RuAF supposedly using incendiary weapons in the vicinity of Ariha, in the Idlib province.
In Northern Hama, SAA getting pushed back, as HTS is about 4 kilometers away from the outskirts of Hama.
Now new reports from the air op to the west of Raqqa conducted by the SDF and US.
>>33393166
It just seems odd so far that I've seen nothing even indicating that the SAA is working to counter the offensive.
I've yet to even see airstrikes materialize.
Were the caught this offguard?
>>33393223
Looks like. Remember for years the SAA ignored ISIS and focused on fighting the FSA, but recently the SAA began really laying into ISIS, capturing a bunch of territory there, but also dedicating a large number of troops to a front which previously didn't exist. Hence, it appears that the SAA were expecting all the rebels in idlib to continue infighting, and not mount a full scale attack on their lines.
We shall see if they rotate sufficient forces, quickly enough to prevent Hama from being taken. Would be interesting to see what happens if Hama falls.
If you haven't heard Beta Wave 6 has been extended so it'll go until around 5 eastern standard time tomorrow.
This is the first beta wave I've been in and personally I was fully prepared for this game to be shit but I actually really like it.
One of my only complaints is that the PPSh is way too OP and there's really no reason to use the stick mags instead of drums because you either die before you run out of ammo or find a random ammo crate to resupply.
I think a way to balance it out is to add the Thompson and or the M1/M2 Carbine for the American pointman class. I also think they should add the 1903 Springfield as an option to the American grunt class so they have something similar to the Mosin the the Vietnamese guerilla class has.
Sqaud V9 is out.

How is Squad? I haven't seen too much about it and what I have isn't really enough to convince me to buy it not on sale.

Loving the Kershaw Dividend. Thin and lightweight with good lines. Gonna see how KAI's 420HC holds up.
Any opinions on the Kershaw Damascus steel folders? Was thinking of getting the Link or the Skyline.
>>33388182
The Skyline is great, and I'd assume the Link is as well but I haven't handled one myself. If you're trying to pick between the two the Skyline is going to be a little bit smaller and has a manual flipper vs. the slightly bigger assisted Link. Skyline has G10 vs. the Link's aluminum handles. If you want a smaller Link check out the Dividend.
>>33388163
>Thin and lightweight
thin and lightweight, you say?
0.075'' spine, 0.032'' 1/4'' behind the edge, 0.010'' at the shoulder of the edge.
2.4 ounces with wheath. Differentially hardened 1095, heat treated for edge stability.
Essentially a fixed blade version of sodbuster knives like the gec bullnose

Hi, the anon with the alien patch here.
Would anyone be interested in a patch like this?
post em if you got em of you either intentionally or unintentionally looking like an edgelord.

So I've been researching the shit out of this, but it's a bit of a strange request so I thought I'd throw it to you /k/
I like hiking, never feel unsafe while out, but want a particular kind of gun to take with me. Here is what I've been looking for, maybe you guys will think of something I haven't been able to google.
>.22 pistol
>as light as possible
>threaded barrel (would like to suppress down the road)
>as cheap as possible
I'm flexible on all these points, just want something to plink with out in the woods. I'm leaning towards suppression and .22 just so that it's easier to chill around with friends and shoot.
So far, I've found the Beretta Bobcat and the Taurus PT-22 (a clone) to be close to what I want, but coming across threaded barrels seems to be annoying.
>>33470677
Just get a breakdown 10/22 or get a Mk. III with a threaded barrel.
Don't get the Taurus. Get the Walther p22 or Wather PPK in .22. Both great guns.

What does /k/ think of smart guns?

I'm the only smart my gun needs.
What's the atf fascination with killing puppers? If im not 922r compliant do I have to worry about the atf busting in my door and killing my pupper?
>pic related is atf targets
>>33468260
>killing my pupper?
only if the dog is not completely controlled, so if your dog(s) are running around, then yes, they are a threat and will be shot
make sense to me
>>33468260
922(r) is almost exclusively targeted toward licensed manufacturers and importers. I don't think an individual has ever been charged with violating 922(r). Even if they were it would probably only be a tack-on charge for something else.
You're popover wil b safest, anon.
>>33468421
It's SOP for law enforcement to kill dogs on entry.
Your pupper could be chained up in the yard and barking and they'd shoot it.
>loose in the yard and comes up when they open the gate?
Dead dog
>loose in your house when they kick in the door?
Dead dog.
This is regardless of the dogs demeanor or size. A decent-sized dog like mine that is trained to alert me to intruders would be the first thing shot if pigs raided my house?
Fuck that and fuck you for defending it.
Hi /k/. I found a Mosin Nagant 91/30 for sale on Armslist near me and I'm asking for some help. I'm not too familiar with them and I don't know if it's worth it. I'm contacting the seller soon to see if it's all matching. Thanks

Also if you're not old enough to remember what this is, then you have to be 18 to post here.

That looks like it weighs 50 pounds
Is that the old exploding round mid air grenade lawn chair?
Holy shit, I thought this was a fictional gun that they made up for 007 nightfire. At least that's where I remember it from.
I used to drool over these when they showed up in articles in magazines
Thought they were just the coolest fucking things ever
Attached is the image I felt I saw the most in these OICW articles
Australians had a version too which didn't have much success either
Chinese recently took a dip into OICW land, with a bolt action grenade launch rather than a magazine fed semi-auto
And how can we forget the French monsters...
IMHO it was in this milieu that the FN F2000 was designed - as a "budget" gun to appeal to what they saw as growing demand for OICW-type weapons, the premiere feature of it was a high tech grenade launcher targeting system
