Hey /k anyone here do competition shooting, specifically pistol competitions. I'd like to get into it but I don't know of any places near me (Florida, 239 area) also suggestions for for a pistol for competition, i was thinking about getting like a USP but I'm not sure

1911

USP's, even competition minded ones like the USP elite and expert, aren't very popular comp guns due to their inability to accessorize (in comparison to glock's, 1911's, and CZ's), price, and popularity. USP's are generally more popular as utilitarian/duty guns, and if you want to compete with one, you would be better off finding a range than hosts defensive pistol league matches or something similar. Its going to be kind of a drive for you, but if you ever find yourself near Frostproof FL, Universal Shooting Academy hosts DPL matches at the end of every month. Its a good way to shoot your CCW or duty gun without getting BTFO'd by some dude with a CZ open class gun with one of those polyester shirts with every manufacturer's logo on them.
>>33520693
So like 9mm Glock would be best and I'll keep that in mind about Frostproof
I want a really cheap pistol.
I'M LESS THAN 21
HOW DO I GET ONE OF THESE? I'M SCARED FOR MY LIFE AT THIS POINT
>>33519811
Lurk moar faggot
>>33519811
Honestly, "really cheap" is relative. If you're looking to CC (presumably without a permit), youll have to look at armslist for something small. But you're still gonna spend at LEAST like $300 to get set up for that
You could also get like an 80% glock lower and finish it, but itll be more expensive.
>>33519868
How the FUCK do people afford guns? How the fuck do I protect myself? This is insane
Are 1911 owners literally retarded? Do they not think they'll ever miss a shot? Do they really think they're John fucking Wick?
A lot of them are. Especially the ones in the South.
>>33519801
soooo it's single shot?
I still don't understand why 1911fags keep buying these shitty handguns for 700 dollars when FNXs and USPs can be bought for that same price
experiments with spray-paint are fun
...post your gats../k/ could use some shotgun OC
...subhuman screaming about home defense general

What guns would this man own?
Cheap tacticooled AR, a glock with an equally plastic holster.
>>33519648
This or equally tacticooled US AK
>>33519648
But he's saving up for a P226 because NAVY SEALS BRO.
I was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital recently and had my gun rights taken away from me. I don't want to go into too much detail but lets just say that it took a lot of corruption within the police department in order to get the OK commit me. I'll be coming back full force with a lawyer from hell as soon as I have the money, as it wasn't justice and I want my rights back.
Anyway I'll spare /k/ the rant. I don't post here often I'm usually a /pol/tard but I love lurking here. I'm a burger and by federal law here even though I cannot own a "firearm" I can legally own a bow and or crossbow for home defense.
I was hoping /k/ might have some suggestions?
>>33519187
>the man was out to get me
Yeah sure ok bud. Start off with a middle of the road $100 compound to target practice and get a feel of it. Then step on into

Despite being a basic bitch article they're not too wrong on any of it. Or into black powder you nut job.
Pump actions, lever actions and bolt actions are next. Here is the logic path they will follow to ban bolt actions, WW1 had bolt action rifles used. Ergo bolt actions are weapons of war. Just use a bow if you want to hunt. Bows and arrows were used during the Plains Wars and in European wars, bows and arrows are weapons of war. Lever actions were used In the Spanish/American war and WW1, lever actions are weapons of war. That is where it will go.

>I don't post here often I'm usually a /pol/tard
This explains a lot.
Maybe don't own weapons.
How are Russian and other post-Soviet operators viewed within the special forces community?
>>33519045
As a joke. Just like every other branch of the Russian military.
More dangerous to their allies than their enemies

probably as a bunch of drunks with no moral compass. I did a tour in Kosovo and the Russian airborne unit was a bunch of weed smoking thieves that never left their compounds at night. I'm sure like SF in the US, lots of their members are drawn from the airborne community.

Why do you have earplugs when you never shoot your rifle?
So after a lot of hard work I've designed a pump action musket with a magazine.
What does /k/ think of my design?
Bump, love to know if /k/ approves of my design
Not enough autistic to be considered funny.
Keep trying
I decided to show you guys how it would look in battle
So I recently got hired as a Biology intern in Wyoming bear country and I'm gonna be working in the heart of the Shoshone for the Summer. I'm thinking I'm gonna get a big bore revolver because there's no fucking way I'm trusting my glock 23 to stop a rampaging Grizzly or cougar. Any suggestions as to what would be a good selection. I'm thinking about a ruger Bisley Blackhawk 44 special but I'm open to other opinions.
>>33503148
>cougar
You will more than likely never see one. They will see you, but you not them
As for a revolver, get a Super Redhawk in 44 mag and load it with buffalo bore.

What's wrong with that 10 mm glock?
Nogunz here moving out of mommy and daddy's house in one week. In need a small handgun that's reliable and easy to maintain for a beginner. I'm also trying not to spend more than $800, and I'd prefer to get something new, not used, so I'm looking at pic related right now.
What would you get if you had nothing and needed a new handgun for under $800?
>>33518132
Glock 19.
>>33518132
Are you going to carry it or will it be strictly for home defense and range trips?
Are you 21 and able to buy a handgun or underage thus needing it to be a long gun?

Honestly this

It is a logical response to the raids.
Anyone else remember their first time stepping behind the wheels/wings of an expensive military vehicle and realizing how trashy and old looking they actually are on the inside?
When I was younger I actually thought the million dollar equipment would be high-tech and provide a nice environment but hell no.
>inb4 /k/ operators have never been trusted with handling million dollar equipment
>military vehicles
>expensive
Hardly. They're all 20 years old at least, too. Even our jet fighters are 40 years old.
>>33517533
I was a truck driver at the military and I never operated anything close to a million. What did you drive?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/04/02/theresa-may-would-go-war-defend-sovereignty-gibraltar-says-michael/
>Mr Picardo accused Spain of trying to “manipulate” Brexit negotiations in a bid to make a claim on the Rock.
>Sir Michael told BBC One’s Andrew Marr Show: “Gibraltar is going to be protected all the way because the sovereignty of Gibraltar cannot be changed without the agreement of the people of Gibraltar and they have made it very clear they do not want to live under Spanish rule.
So, how would a theorethicall escalation of this end?
Would the rest of the EU actually enter war for Bigger version of greece? Or would the UK just start bombing spanish fleet to the bottom of the ocean for shits and giggles?
Since France is the only EU country with own nukes, I figure it would all depend on them.
How would Murca react? Trumpp seems to be very pro UK/May, and anti-EU, and the US has a ton of bases with troops in the EU
Nothing will happen
>>33517505
well thats why I said theorethically
We all knwo this is just Spains goverment trying to make its people not think about internal problems, and about the hypocrisy of supporting a second scottish referendu fucking 3 years after the last failed, while not even considering giving Catalonia a referendum.
Hypothetically, Spain invades Gibraltar and the UK wants to take it back.
Can they invoke NATO article 5 against Spain, who is also in NATO?
