Buy a good knife. There's always use for one innawoods.
Once i didn't bring my knife with me for a one night camp and i was a danger to the whole forest because instead of playing with my Glock M78 i started playing with matches.
>everything is fair in war so there shouldn't be any restrictions on the types of weapons used
How do you respond to this?
>>33585955
I form the Geneva convention
>>33585955
Time to glass the middle east.
Then you shouldn't bitch when America nukes your major cities and gasses the survivors. Third worlders dont seem to get that all these conventions were set up for their benefit, not ours. USA has the most nukes and most chemical weapons, so by not using them were only gimping ourselves. Its our way of making warfare nicer and "fairer" for everyone.
We post planes but why not Cockpits too?

There's a pretty large "tactical" style precision rifle community in my state. A buddy and I are looking to join, but neither of us have done anything like it before (I shoot 3 Gun and USPSA, he comes to the range with me every month or so and only has a 22 and a bolt shotgun). Neither of us will probably ever go balls deep due to my work schedule and his budget.
The question is what would your top rifle recommendations be? I think I have an idea, broken into 3 tiers with 2 each. I'm open to suggestions, as all of this is based on second hand knowledge.
He'd probably want to go with .308 win for price considerations, I'd look into either 308 or 6.5cm. No magnum rounds allowed, targets out to 1,000 yards possible
Budget tier:
Savage Axis
Ruger American Predator
"Mid" level
Remington 700 SPS Tactical
Tikka T3x
"High" End
Ruger Precision
Savage 10 BA Stealth
>>33585756
>Budget tier
>Mid level
>High end
>Accuracy International tier
Are you going to reload? Can you find H4350/H4831SC/RL17 near you?
Howa 1500 may be worthwhile to consider as well. I wouldn't do the Axis, the ruger American predator is likely a better option in that budget but still a thin barrel.
OEM rifles in chassis are typically overpriced; buy the two separately. Tikka CTR in 24" 6.5CM is probably your best option; Whittaker guns $820.
Scopes:
-PA 4-14 FFP
-SWFA 3-15 FFP
-Vortex 4-16 or 6-24 FFP
What's your budget?
>>33585833
A buddy of mine had a Howa, but he's so full of shit when it comes to shooting that I never ask his opinion on stuff.
I'd probably order all of the components online if I were to reload. Currently I only do 38spc, but could expand to rifles.
>>33585833
Realistically, I'd probably want to be around $1,000 all in, but I could do more. Probably $1,500 max unless I sold a few for additional funds.
I'm not sure what his would be. Finally got him to join the military, so he'll have some signing bonus and money from bmt and tech school saved up. I imagine he'd be less than $1,000, which is why i dipped as low as the American and the Axis.
Was the shit is this little guy? Im forced to only go from the pic here and the owner is less than helpful. He has zero fun knowledge
looks like a cobra arms freedom .380
Pretty sure raven in 25 acp, if you're considering buying don't.
Raven it is. Blurry ass proof marks are the same. Not buying. It's his carry gun. I have no interest in it beyond comedy.
how do you keep yourself entertained while on watch?
look at nudes saved on my cell and Jack it.
>>33585535
good idea!
>>33585533
The most useful thing that I learned in the military, as part of watch duties, is to sleep standing.
Does anyone have experience reloading .22lr? I asked the guy at my gunstore and he said he could order in the equipment, would be around $600.
>>33584906
not possible to put powder into such a tiny case
what most reloaders so is chew up the powder and mix it with saliva then spit a bit into the casing
>>33584913
There's this old cowboy trick where you put priming compound in your urethra, then gently tap the casing into your peehole with a rubber mallet to get an even spread.
>>33584913
>>33584918
Don't listen to these fags, they're telling two halves of the process. Everyone knows you mix the powder with your piss, then you put the solution in your mouth, load an empty case into a gun, put the barrel in your mouth and blow really really hard.
Alright /k/ I need your help. The only gun I currently own is 10/22. As such it's what I'm stuck with for home defense. It's not optimal but it's the best I've got (Trust me I would much rather use something else) I need help determining what to load it with, I have jacketed hollow points but I also have some cast lead bullets without a jacket. I'm leaning towards hollow points but I've heard that the lead deforms inside of the target and does more damage. What do you think? (I can't get a different gun, I'm stuck using 22)
>>33584721
Perfect defense weapon, use subsonic and you shouldn't even damage your hearing.
Ar/glock/shotgun tards deafen themselves and their doggos
.22 is ideal for self defense because you likely won't be wearing ear muffs in a panic, you also should use CCI stingers because they are just better.
>>33584721
Standard copper coated lead but convert the 10/22 to full auto and use a drum mag
So how many of you faggots fell for the
>Muh 12" to 18" of penetration
meme the FBI has been dishing out for the last three decades?
http://gundata.org/images/fbi-handgun-ballistics.pdf
>An issue that must be addressed is the fear of over penetration widely expressed on the part of law enforcement. The concern that a bullet would pass through the body of a subject and injure an innocent bystander is clearly exaggerated. Any review of law enforcement shootings will reveal that the great majority of shots fired by officers do not hit any subjects at all. It should be obvious that the relatively few shots that do hit a subject are not somehow more dangerous to bystanders than the shots that miss the subject entirely.
>Also, a bullet that completely penetrates a subject will give up a great deal of energy doing so. The skin on the exit side of the body is tough and flexible. Experiments have shown that it has the same resistance to bullet passage as approximately four inches of muscle tissue.
>Choosing a bullet because of relatively shallow penetration will seriously compromise weapon effectiveness, and needlessly endanger the lives of the law enforcement officers using it. No law enforcement officer has lost his life because a bullet over penetrated his adversary, and virtually none have ever been sued for hitting an innocent bystander through an adversary. On the other hand, tragically large numbers of officers have been killed because their bullets did not penetrate deeply enough.

Are wheeled IFVs better than tracked ones?

Tracked is infinitely better in every way
Wheeled is more economical
Tracked is more protected

how do you adjust the spread on a full auto pistol so it can take out several people in front of you?
>>33584375
You could try bandit style shooting like the chinese did with their Wauser box cannons
>>33584401
what's bandit style? holding it by the magazine like a tommy gun? i dont think that would work on most pistols.

When talking about the possibility of another war with North Korea, everyone always points to their longest range artillery as the biggest threat to South Korea, that they'd use their artillery to fire some barrages into Seoul and kill as many people as possible.
I drew out these measurements on Google Earth, the red line is the circumference of a circle with a 60km radius (the range of their best artillery) with the center on Seoul, the blue measurement is the area from where NK could place their artillery and fire into SK, it is about 505sqkm. How fast could the US and SK secure this area and deny NK the ability to hit Seoul? Even without a single shell hitting the city?
Roleplay mode I guess, you're in charge of the Allied forces.
Just bomb them lmao
>>33584218
The war wouldn't start until those shells started hitting Soul.
There is no reasonable plan regarding the handling of the outbreak of a second Korean war that doesn't involve massive civilian causalities on both sides.
This also fails to take into account Nork SRBMs and IRBMs, as well as the fact that, while inflicting massive damage on Seoul is likely a major priority, it won't be the deciding factor in the war.
>>33584286
Well the reason everyone says artillery is the biggest problem is that theres a missle defence system in SK and would hopefully deal with any NK missiles.

>The Carl Vinson Strike Group comprises an aircraft carrier and other warships.
>US Pacific Command described the deployment - now heading towards the western Pacific - as a prudent measure to maintain readiness in the region.
>President Trump has said the US is prepared to act alone to deal with the nuclear threat from North Korea.
>"The number one threat in the region continues to be North Korea, due to its reckless, irresponsible and destabilising programme of missile tests and pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability," US Pacific Command spokesman Dave Benham said.
Well /k/, what do you think this means? Given NK just said the Syria air base strike justified everything they've done up to this point to prepare for the evil USA threat, how do you think things will fare? Think NK will actually try to take a swing or will it just be more saber rattling and frowny faces?
I'd be surprised if it doesn't get liberated within my lifetime, but we move fleets around all the time.
Korean war is going hot again. Can't wait to see Norks wiped off the map.
>>33583567
It will be Vietnam 2.0 where the US gets BTFO by a bunch of farmers with WW1 vintage rusted weapons.
What are modern day strategic and tactical applications of Field Artillery relative to conflicts we are fighting nowadays?
Ill be going to Army OCS soon and I hope to branch Field Artillery and am interested in the theory and doctrine associated with its implementation on the battlefield.
Is it obsolete? Or is it still relevant?
I have a theory that mobility in artillery is the key to it being most effective with a number of historical precedents that validate this claim. Your guys thoughts?

I'm designing my near-future home. I want to keep home defense in mind right from the start. I'm seeking KILLBOX design advice from you /k/ommandos. Maybe you've designed one yourself, or made modifications to improve home defense? Share it here please!
I figure I will have the first layer just being walls/gates, with motion detectors to alert me. Once the home invaders breech that its all about funneling them into the killbox entryway. That said, it should be the only accessible entrance, no low windows etc.
>>33583067
Just staple dragon dildos to every surface and call it a night.
