Throwing a weapon to your enemy is not very clever. The Romans figured this out and designed the pilum their throwing lance to bend so it could not be thrown back and the design worked as many archaeologists finding Roman battle relics discover

The only other major use of thrown sharp objects are murderers and street fighters using them as a distraction to create an opening for a kill.

The most effective is probably the lead shot on a string because it does not end up being thrown back.

Throwing knives is a nice hobby and a good circus act but how you throw relies on a fixed distance. Throwing stars and weebo ninja shit is just that. Japanese murderers uses several techniques to put trained swordsmen off guard and create an opening including powders etc

I'm not an amazing shooter by any means, but I'm able to hit targets at 1,300 yards with my 6.5x47 with a bit of practice and learning technique.

It's a bit more fun than throwing money down the range and not hitting shit.

What you want to do is find a good archery shop nearby.The dude behind the counter, if he knows his shit, will never lead you astray and will be more than happy to answer any questions you have. You're going to have many. If you know anybody that is expirenced shoot with them a few times. I became frustrated with my groupings when I started, then I hung around with some guys that frequent the archery shop I go to and they helped me with my stance, draw, and sight picture. I saw significant improvement in a matter of weeks. Practice every day and keep in mind your broadheads fly differently than field points. I shoot slick tricks on a 8.8 GPI carbon arrows and they tend to hit about an 1/8th of an inch lower at 20 yards.
