Do you think a 22 grain .22 pellet shot at point blank, with oil in the barrel, can go through a human skull. Approximated velocity with oil would be in the 1200-1300 fps, normally it would be around 700 to 800 fps
12 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>33595367
I got 83 ft/p at 1300fps, enough to pierce the skull, but even at 1000fps we are talking about 40+ ft/p, I think that is lethal too.
>>
answer you powder addicted burgers, air guns are the future, embrace them.
>>
you know even shooting .22lr is more expense, loud, and less fun

with an airgun you get lots of kills, you have fun, dont make noise, and dont spend tons of money on bullets, or permits, or countless other hassles.

Face it, if you want to kill someone you can just make a shotgun 1 shot blaster. For sport shooting, airguns are superior.

Hey /k/ I'm planning on getting my first handgun soon. I'm really leaning towards some kind of M1911 model (something like pic related) as I like the aesthetic and I've fired my dad's when I was younger and I remember enjoying it.

I was wondering if you guys could give me any tips or info as I'm pretty much a complete novice when it comes to guns.

Maybe a Remington? Are there any manufacturers that are objectively superior?
>>
>>33594504

The best advice is to go to a gunstore, handle a bunch of different pistols, and buy one you like the most.
Oh, and don't buy a Kimber or Taurus.
>>
>>33594504
Stay away from Series 80 firing pin blocks and full length guide rods. Ruger is probably your best bang for your buck.

>>
>>33594396
No, KA is high quality stuff, but like a good portion of /k/, we can't afford most f their stuff.
From just reading and watching a lot, they just seem to be more military contract focused than civilian, and they know they have the name and reputation to put a very high price tag on their product.

Hey /K/, within next month or so I will be in possession of a pair of Bulgarian Maks. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with wooden grips and types of holsters. It will probably be my nightstand gun, but i really like the look and feel of wood on a fairly small pistol like a mak...also any good home defense 9x18?

I would much rather you prefer the feel of my wood over a pistol like the mak.

You are in the middle of a desert. A Chinese Type 99 is speeding towards you at 80 km/h, you feel a sensation in your pants. You've pissed yourself. Suddenly a supreme deity comes down from the skies and says you can have any one weapon in the world to defeat the tank coming towards you. Your weapon cannot be a vehicle of any kind. Other than that, there are no restrictions. What do you use /k/?

Any webley fags here? I really want to get one but seem like of shady. I was also thinking about getting out for self defense. Any tips/tricks? Maybe bayonet on pistol thread.

I have a Webley.
Broken camera (no pics)

They're fun as hell though be warned: you WILL start handloading or you'll almost never shoot it (assuming it's not been shaved: if it is shaved then there's literally no option but hand loading)

They're accurate and ergonomic and fun.
Do the world a favor though, and don't use one for self defense.
History ought to be kept, not thrown in an evidence locker.

arent the .455 made from 45 long colt brass?
>>
>>33593580
You can shave .45 LC to work apparently, but I haven't tried it.

I'm not sure about rim thickness either: you may only be able to use your trimmed .45 LC in shaved cylinders.
I will also say that all the regular .45 ACP I've loaded for mine has split because it's ever so slightly smaller than the chamber.
Pisses me off, but what the hell.

I ain't got the time to trim cases right now.

Also how many watts can it throw out.

Just got to test one of those out in Huntsville AL

Shit doesn't even hurt. Blasted it right at my hands does absolutely nothing.

Best part? It's water cooled and portable via a 40 lb backpack.
