Hey can we get a EDC thread going?
Have this crappy picture. I need to buy a decent belt.

Should I go with an m1a Scout squad or a scar 17s. I'm considering the much more expensive scar because of the potential for panic pricing in the coming years and I can make a nice profit off of it.
This will be for homestead defense, deer and hog hunting and zombie/ghouls.
>zombies
>>35012661
get a dsa fal
>springfield
>current year
Really?
What's all the fuss about the AR? Everyone says it's the most popular centerfire rifle in America, but I just don't see what's so great about it. It's a mediocre varmint rifle at best.
>>35012579
>light weight
>accurate
>MASSIVE aftermarket
>COD
Good aftermarket, reliable (Vietnam-era memes plz go), arguably the jack of all trades, easy to use, low recoil, cheap as hell to own and operate.

For a few years a while ago, ending in early 2000's, there was the famed ASSAULT WEAPON BAN which made certain features illegal. When it ended, there was a lot of news about how it would need to be renewed or we would all die. It wasn't renewed. Since then, there has been a lot of (mostly failed) political pressure to ban thse features anyway.
All this has done is keep them in the news, and every company that has anything to do with guns makes an AR15 model or makes parts for them. Even Ruger, now that Bill "Ten Rounder" Ruger is dead.
Prices have plummeted, popularity has exploded. Even people who don't like them bought one out of fear they someday wouldn't be able to.
What's so great about stainless steel barrels?
Bumping cause I want to know too, good enough for pistols, are they just good cheap alternatives for rifles? Really only like the black nitride finish.
Supposedly the rifling can be machined more finely, leading to better accuracy at the expense of barrel life.
Which is sort of strange to me because it's well known that stainless steel has higher wear resistance than plain carbon steel, but is more difficult to machine.
stainless barrels are thinner and lighter, so if you're going for a light weight raifu, you go with staineless
Any thoughts on Ruger 10/22 variants like Carbine, Takedown, Takedown Lite, etc.? They're way more expensive, but they have some useful features.
I'm buying for range use.
>>35012368
takeddown is a convenience. dont get a takedown if you are planning to heavily mod it or are going to scope it
>>35012463
What kind of mods do people do on it? This will be my first rifle, so I don't really know.
Why not scope a Takedown?
Also thoughts on the Marlin 60? Looks good but did the quality go down since they got Freedom Group'd?
how many problems can you count?
>>35012359
She got magnum research correct, I'm surprised at that
>>35012359
sexy
Does /k/ wear camo when hunting? Or do you just wear normal outdoor clothing?
>>35012132
Whatever fits the weather, then a camp poncho that I can spread out to break my silhouette
>>35012155
>not wearing $1000 kryptek fit
What's the point of wearing camouflage when you're shooting from a hundred meters away and wearing an orange vest?
We've heard of the truck gun but what would a Jeep gun be?
An M3 Grease Gun taped underneath the driver's seat.
>>35011892
also Jeep owners are less likely to own a gun but more likely to know what to do in a SHTF situation
a pistol that gets fired as much as the jeep goes offroad
(never)
Should soldiers still be issued with bayonets, or are they outdated and unnecessary?
Still issue them. They serve as decent knives and can be used if needed.
When would a bayonet ever be used? Why would a man ever let you get that close
Its mainly just a knife holder
No reason you can't have a knife that affixes to your rifle as well.
Sword bayonets are the coolest thought.
Hey /k/
this is my first group with a real powdered round.
My group today was at 55yrd with a .22lr (Prone)
So, how can I get smaller groups?
>>35011593
Move the target closer.
>>35011593
A thread died for you to shit post
>>35011624
Why? That's a phenomenal group op has
Will these ever cost $330 again?
I barely see them in stock. Never seen one at my gun store.
I'd check online and see. I remember Sweaty Ben's Shilly Crates had them on sale a few weeks ago.
>>35011488
>Sweaty Ben's Shilly Crates
I see them at gun stores around me frequently. Most of them have multiple. They go from between $400 to $500 though.
I am noob so asking veterans and pros out there
>is balisong master race or a disgrace?
>(dis)advantages against other knife types
>are there different types of balisongs?
>what to look/look out for when buying one?
>can you, like, throw it like other knives?
Please discuss
Master race? No.
Disadvantages are they're normally outlawed in most places for gang affiliation and they're pretty flimsy and are difficult to deploy.
I think there are different sizes and blade types, but still the same operation.
Find one that is well built and not made out of chinesium, maybe with a dull blade cause you're most likely gonna just sit at your desk or around the house flipping it around, since it's the classic edgy teenager's fidget spinner.
Just like anything, it can be thrown. Balisongs especially, into the trash.
>>35011427
They are great fun.
>>35011452
>>35011452
>and are difficult to deploy
Not particularly.
In the end you can fuck someone up with a Philips screwdriver but balisongs are cracking fun.
Into the thrash your post goes.
I don't post on /k/ too often, but I've decided to become a gun owner. I live in a shit tier state, New Jersey, where I need to file heaps of paperwork to register for firearms. I'm requesting some words of wisdom from those who can impart it, regarding the potential for being denied my right to bear arms. I'm scheduled to get finger printed and questioned in two weeks.
I'm 20 years old and commute to college. I also work, and I live with my mom. I'm curious about a few factors that may get me denied, if anyone knows.
>I used to visit a psychiatrist for depression in my mid teens
>my mom has had several DUIs, and is losing her license for a bit
Will either of these factors get me denied? Will they ask if I have visited a mental health professional? Do I need to tell them?
If thread doesn't die I'll also ask some advice for buying first firearms. I've done some homework and visited a local shop, and will probably get a Bushmaster AR and a Browning 20 gauge as my first two.
self bump
>>35011344
No they will not
>>35011398
Are you sure? I thought they took into account who you reside with. The main thing I'm worried about is my mom's DUIs, which they could use to "prove" that there's an alcoholic in the residence
Appreciate any help
Do you think their wives know they are sleeping with each other?
Don't really know, don't really care. If they aren't fiddling kids or doing shady shit and producing content that is informative as well as entertainment, I could give two shits less if they have 20 man orgies or only missionary with the lights off for the sole purpose of procreation with their wives.
How is this /k/ related?
>>35011189
Wait, they are married?
They had girlfriends?
>>35011219
its probly another ak baby being mad about mud..... but I'm okay with this.
After playing metal gear solid how realistic is a mobile bipedal nuclear weapon? Would it be worth using or would the cost out weigh the benefits
I guess what Im asking is how practical would a real life metal gear be
>>35011176
they're basically rendered useless by ballistic subs.
still a cool idea.
>>35011176
>bipedal
it's shit.
