Just curious, let's say I'm a 35 year old athlete. Accomplished 3 gun & IPSC shooter, black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and an executive managing 300 employees.
Purely hypothetical- If I wanted to radically change my life and enlist, is that possible? Would my management/shooting/hand to hand fighting expertise get me anywhere? Does a civilian resume matter?
Don't take this one too seriously, but I'm genuinely curious.
>>33641778
Too old to enlist. You're at the limit on age. Hypothetically, you're an old fuck
>>33641785
Thanks. Let's say I was 27 with the same resume- would it help me at all?
>>33641778
Cut off was recently moved to 34.
If you have a 4 year degree, you enlist as an e4, if not maybe an e3. You could try to enlist as an officer candidate.
So I live in the nanny state they call Britain, I've scoured the net for resources regarding the legality of gun part kits in the UK, however I can order them off this website here http://www.zib-militaria.de/epages/61431412.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61431412/Categories/Freie_Teilesaetze_von_Waffen
Anyone know if I need an FAC for these kits? Or a license license? Or a TV License? Ty.
Pic unrelated.
Forgot to mention, I couldn't find any sort of resources and I have no idea how legal they are.
>>33641598
Illegal. Still counts as manufacturing.
Don't bother. Go through the trouble of getting your FAC and live sort of happily.
>>33641598
if you can't source a rifled barrel or make one yourself then it's not worth going above a STEN imo.

Very much so.
What DEFCON level do you think the US government is at right now?
>>33641058
5, nothing has happened in years. I think it occasionally moves to green when there's real big riots or a shooting or something like that, but there's no danger to us.

I think those are the only times it ever really changed.
The counter-balance action mechanism effectively eliminates recoil when going full-auto, which increases accuracy by a substantial amount. Not only that, but the mechanism is not that comlex and can be used with any existing gun via modifications.
What's more, is that it would be perfect for an LMG, which mostly operates via long bursts or even full auto when necessary.
It simply boggles my mind how this is still not widely used.
There's a vid of two guys test-firing the AK 107, if you want to see the mechanism in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJs9sBBjLls&t=6s
>>33641024
Expensive and not necessary.
Especially when you consider full-auto is hardly ever used by riflemen.
>>33641036
That's why I wondered why they didn't implement this in LMGs
>>33641053
They are used deployed on bipods and are heavy already
Say someone was studying linguistics at university and was looking into doing contract work for the government or for an intelligence service. Which language do you reckon would be ideal to know if you can only pick one?
Right now they're looking for Russian, Arabic (not sure if MSA), Mandarin, Farsi.

>All overseas US Forces are withdrawn to the mainland and all hardware is available for use (i.e. all ships, planes and submarines etc are available for service and not in maintenance).
>Every single country in the world (except the US obviously) collectively decides to invade the USA
Can the USA hold off the attack?
Scenario 1 - Sea Invasion: Canada and Mexico remain neutral (no forces can be moved through either country)
Scenario 2 - Sea & Land Invasion: Canada and Mexico also decide to invade
No nuclear, chemical or biological weapons allowed
Scen 1:
Nothing makes it across the oceans alive. USA survives.
Scen 2:
Nothing makes it across the oceans alive. Mexico and Canada become US property
>>33640756
Scenario 1 would be incredibly difficult. Contrary to popular belief, the US still has incredible manufacturing abilities and can easily supply most of their equipment in house. It's also the third most populous nation on the planet and the numbers and quality of equipment are still very good. Trying to get a ground invasion in strictly through the sea would be next to impossible without getting detected and intercepted. Same applies for trying to fly forces in.
Scenario 2 would play out similarly to scenario 1. Unfortunately for Mexico and Canada there are many bases near the border and they would get bombed into submission within minutes or hours of declaring war. The US doesn't really need to control the countries directly, just their coasts.
>>33640756
Scenario 1: Best case scenario. Shit ton of artificial reefs are now strewn about the Atlantic and Pacific. Worst case, we have to ship dead bodies back to their home country because they're clogging up the coastline.
Scenario 2: Best case, we gain two new countries. Worst case, we have to ship dead bodies back to their home country. And make them pay for it.
So I'll be moving to Texas soon Dallas/ft worth area, not sure witch yet depends on placement.
Tell me about te/x/as? Where are some good ranges? What are some good gun shops?
Do I have to be an aquafag and own a SCAR to live there?
Shameless bump
Texas is a big place. DFW is also very large. its hard to give you an idea of what places youll be near with the given info. its guranteed youll be near several stores regardless of where youre at though.
I hope youre moving to the country. All our (dfw) ranges are indoor or are run by fuds.
Fort Worth here.
There are no good ranges. Some of the indoor ranges are only "okay". Most of the outdoor ranges are utter garbage. I've never been to a range outside of Texas but I can tell these are hideous and only stay in business because they're your only options.
If you're on the Fort Worth side your 2 outdoor range choices are either Quail Creek or Alpine. I slightly prefer the latter, the ROs and staff are a lot nicer, but it's farther away from me.
If you're in the middle or Dallas side, couldn't help you, but I hope they have something better than there. Some place called Elm Creek or Elm Fork or whatever is basically fudd and range cancer heaven.
Good gun shops - None. Shop online and ship with FFL to avoid the Texas state tax. You'll pay a lot less.
In the event of Nuclear War, how would non-aligned states have been treated? with Nato and Warsaw in ruins after a nuclear exchange, did either side make strategic considerations for the massive transfer of power to the 3rd world that would take place. Obviously a large part of the world would still be affected by fallout, refugees, shortages, environmental disaster, and economic recession, but they would still be in an advantageous position to have untouched industry, fertile land, and healthy citizenry. I think it's a bit funny to think All of Britain laying in ashes, while Dublin's clean and spotless, laughing at the dumb limey cucks.
so what would've happened to all those places: Brazil, India, Ireland, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, Finland, in the event of Nuclear war? Probably the Southern Hemisphere would be a lot better off environmentally.
>NATO and WARSAW pact exchanging 5000 megatons
That would be Glorious. Best day of my life. Northern Irelanders would probably be beggin to join, and protestants would be sucking IRA cock for provisions. don't blame us for being /non-aligned/. hope owning subsaharan shitholes and unpopulated indian ocean islands was worth getting nuked by commies, bongs.
>>33640623
>what would happen,
They'd make fucking bank selling fertilizer, Steel, fuel, grain, and medicine to 2 billion people, that's what. new shitskin superpowers emerge in the global south, meanwhile Americans get superpowers and shit skin from radiation. I say it's a fair trade, desu.
>>33640623
>In the event of Nuclear War, how would non-aligned states have been treated?
With complete and utter lack of regard, for better or worse. If they're in a strategically-contested region, they could get steamrolled like Belgium in either World War, or if they're in some irrelevant or costly position like Switzerland or Argentina they may be ignored entirely (and quite possibly benefit extensively from the aftermath, as per >>33640699)
