Anyone here in the British Army? Would you recommend someone joining? If so what unit/regiment and why?

Just bought a M&P Shield 9mm. How illegal is it to concealed carry it in Georgia at 19 years old without a CCL? hahaha
>>33709626
Highly
>>33709626
Very
>Hahaha
Neck yourself.
Ive heard its legal to have a handgun in the car and in your house in georgia at 19 without a ccl though. Is that right?
So I got an email for the NRA about this.
"The Texas House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety favorably reported a permitless carry bill by a vote of 6-2 on Tuesday. House Bill 1911 by Representative James White eliminates the requirement for obtaining a License to Carry for law-abiding Texans who would be eligible to qualify for that license. HB 1911 has now moved to the House Calendars Committee who will decide if and when the bill will heard by the full House."
So basically if this passes, Texas will have no LTC anymore, which is awesome.
However what happens to my current LTC? Does it become a useless plastic card? Is it still a valid form of ID? Does it change into something else?
And mainly, do I get my money back for the registration?
>his commie state has to give him permission to open carry, or conceal carry
Top kek.
>>33709578
>eliminates the requirement for obtaining a License to Carry for law-abiding Texans who would be eligible to qualify for that license
>who would be eligible to qualify for that license
So we would still be taking the same exact process but they wouldn't issue us the piece of paper at the end.
Wow fellow Texans, way to think outside the box on this one.
>>33709578
I assume it is still a valid form of ID, and may be used for CCL in other states with reciprocity. I doubt you'd get your money back.
Since the state is already in a budget shortfall this year, I suspect Reps and Dems will tank this anyway.
Does anybody actually have one of these clusterfucks of a gun?
AN-94 btw
No.
>>33709568
No. Are you retarded?
>>33709568
I don't know much about them enlighten me OP
What do all of y'all think of it ?
You forgot the "i"
now where is that supposed to go
>>33709428
Whats good:
>Cheap nowadays
>Shoots .308
>accuracy is >5MOA
>Mags are somewhat common
>Parts are somewhat common (even Brownells has parts for it)
>sights are super easy to use
>recoil is somewhat heavy but still manageable
What is bad:
>No chrome-lined barrel
>accuracy cant compete with modern rifles
>L1A1 has no folding stock
>tilting bolt
>no picatinny rail for scope mount
>trigger is not good
>full auto is not controllable
>outdated
So /k/ for my first ccw I've decided on a getting a glock. The only issue is im not sure if I should go with the g19 or glock 26 with some sort of magazine extension.
The g26 was what I used for my class and it was uncomfortable as fuck and made my hand cramp because everything from ring finger down didn't have anything to hold on to. On the other hand, something that small would be hella easy to conceal.
Has anyone shot a regular g19 and a g23 with a mag extension? How does the feel of them compare? I wish I could try a g23 with a mag extension in a gun store, but I don't think they'd let me modify theirs like that.
What you're describing is just a training issue unless your grip strength is below average. While it is more comfortable when your pinky has something to rest on, you shouldn't need it to keep a good hold on the gun.
If you're going to mag extension anyway, just go with a 19
>>33709440
For me, a +0 Pierce baseplate on a G26 helps a ton with establishing grip on the draw (AIWB) and still conceals better than a G19.
Big 26 fan here.
I'm not looking for replicas or cheap knock-off.

You misspelled "Kult."
>>33709223
type that exact question into google, both lines of it. you don't even need to beat the capcha
are these things just a cheap and easy to use alternative to a proper ground attack jet for third world countries with a few spare shekels?
Yes.
do they have any advantage other than longer loiter times?
>>33709154
Cheaper and easier to maintain, purchase.
Alright /k/ yesterday 2 of my friends bought some old af bolt action shotguns for ~$100 a piece. I have the absolute madman idea of finding one myself for around that much and doing some stupid shit to it. First order of business is to hack it down to 18 inches. Also may put some kind of cheap red dot on there and maybe niggerrig some kind of folding stock on it. If it has a mag I might try and extend it and if it has a tube we'll see.
Is this a retarded idea? I'm usually against modifying guns like this but in this case it's a shitty bubba shotgun. If you think I should do it do you have any suggestions?
How is the barrel mounted to the receiver? I would strongly suggest cutting it on a lathe and doing so just a little bit longer than the legal minimum just in case the BATFE's measuring implement isn't quite accurate, if you know what I mean. That or register it as an SBS and cut it down to 13 inches for shiggles.
>>33708998
Like I said I don't have it yet so the model may vary but from disassembly of 2 different models that my friends bought yesterday it doesn't seem like you can remove the barrel from the receiver. Hell these things are made cheap af one of the models you couldn't even remove the bolt.
>>33708966
I had one, sold it. It only had one lug on it's bolt and I didn't trust it. I'm not sure if it was meant to be just bird shot or something, but it was a Sears catalog gun, so info was thin.
I thought about sbr-ing it or something, it could cut down way farther than a pump, but its it's action was just too shitty for the effort.
If you find a good one, I think it might be cool. They are pretty cheap.
anyone here have any guides on slamfire guns? preferably shotguns, seems interesting
>>33708944
Fuck off ATF.
Also this.
>>33708944
3/4th inch water pipe, a 12 guage slug, aND a nail to slam it.
>>33708766
No, you buy Mossman and be happy
>>33708766
Any 870 pre 2007 and you're good.
why does it have to be pre 2007? I think it will be difficult to get older models here in Germany..
I've never had anything to do with guns before, but realizing it's about time I grew up and learned. Intending to be looking into handgun training within a few weeks; in a perfect world, would never need to use it outside a range, but shit, it's weird out there these days even in Upstate NY. Need to learn both proper respect for and proper handling for the things for the family's sake.
So I've been looking at various handguns, but since I don't know jack shit about them, I didn't really have any idea what to look for. At the moment however, I'm looking at a Colt M1911. The reason for this though is kind of stupid. When I was younger, I played a lot of a game on the Playstation called Syphon Filter, which had a gun it referred to as the ".45". What I remember about the game is two things about that handgun; the stopping power, and the distinctive and unique "bark" of a repeat it made, completely standing out from anything else in the game (aside from the lovely "whunk" the M79 put out, but them things are still illegal to own because "fuck you and everyone around you" is not considered an acceptable means of self-defense by law enforcement, understandably). Point is, apparently the .45 in Syphon Filter was directly based on the Colt M1911 in design, amenities, and sound.
Thing is, I'm absolutely aware that basing my first gun choice on a video game gun, even one with the sort of service history that the M1911 has, is probably a fucking stupid thing to do. So I guess I'm looking to get redpilled or bluepilled by people who actually know what the hell they're talking about, and who won't be playing softball with responses. Is the Colt a good choice, a shit one, or should I be going in an entirely different direction?
Additionally, can anyone recommend a good trainer or training center in the Rochester area?
>>33708745
Please, please please please do not buy a Colt. They're a shit tier company that rests on their laurels and sells a name, not a product. Their quality is mediocre at best and is severely overpriced.
I recommend going to gun ranges and renting a .22lr pistol first to familiarize yourself with basic handgun use, operation, safety, and etiquette. After this, rent out a bunch of 9mm handguns and just shoot them until you find one you like. .45 ACP can come later when you've ironed out any kinks in your shooting and think you can handle something with marginally more kick. Repeat the trial process for .45 ACP handguns until you've found one you like and buy that. 1911 pattern guns are generally pretty nice, but you might find something you like more.
OP, you are going to have a lot of tactifags/ mall ninjas coming in here and telling you that your choice is bad and that you need to get a Glock 19/whatever Glock clone is popular at the moment because it is the best and most utilitarian handgun on the market. Don't listen to them; get a gun that you like and that appeals to you. So many people on /k/ and elsewhere allow others to salemen them into buying guns based on specifications and marketing claims, and they frequently end up regretting with buyer's remorse as a result. If you like the 1911, go for it and just make sure that you practice with it regularly.
Also
>is liking a gun based on a video game dumb?
It isn't. They will never admit it, but the majority of current /k/ probably got into guns through video games. You have only to look at what's popular around here to see it.
>upstate NY
If you live in upstate NY, the 1911 is an especially good choice anyway due to your draconian magazine limits.
Hi k, bear with me since I'm an idiot but something odd happened to me today. I figure you are the experts so I'd ask.
I got a knock on my door from UPS asking if I'd hold a package for my neighbor. Said sure, called the guy with the number on the package and let him know, all that. Being a curious dick head I Googled the address it came from because it said it was from a "mail order video" company. All the addresses and website returned back to firearm and ammo stuff.
Soooo is this just how people get around shipping guns and stuff? Or is this like legit sketchy shit going on? I'm not particularly scared or anything, just odd.
>>33708663
>A quick google search told me it was firearms
>It must be illegal shit
Some companies deliberately label their stuff as being other than firearms so people don't steal it in transit because "OMG I can score a gun right now" when it's likely just a new AR part.

Of all the things that ever didn't happen, this didn't happen the most.
