Anything that has the energy to get out of their own star system can glass planets. There would be no battle to take place. It would be no more of a battle than you spraying raid on an anthill.
Luckily for us any being capible of exploring beyond their own solar system would more than likely be non interventionalist, and if for whatever reason they did want to make contact, would more than likely be very peaceful.

With our current understanding of physics we will never leave the solar system. Meaning 1 of 3 things.
1) Our math is shit and we don't understand how shit works
2)We need to somehow break the very laws of physics
3) (most likely) we will simply never leave the solar system. We shot the voyager probe in the 1970s, and it just passed Pluto recently. That fucker is hauling as at several hundred miles per second and it won't reach our next door neighbor for a few thousand years.

I had the Mak and the CZ moly coated by Mac's Shootin' Iron Restorations, now out of business. It's held up amazingly well, especially since the Makarov was my CCW for years.

There's an automotive place in my town that also does Cerakote for guns. They did the Tokarev, and it's been having cycling issues ever since. An RO at my range suggested Slip 2000 EWP over the Frog Lube I'd been using. I'll give that a shot and see if it offers any improvement.

I think DLC (diamond like carbon; a tailorable mixture of diamond and graphite) is pretty damn good for low friction wear resistant applications.

Watch out for the temperatures that they operate the coatings at; some of them can go way over the tolerable limits of your steels and unless you're doing a very low temperature one, don't even think about doing it on aluminum.

We've advanced enough technologically, metallurgically, and doctrinally that its not really applicable in its previous roles. Our guns can better resist volume of fire, we're not fighting in trenches anymore, and we have quick change barrels and rotary guns.

I could see applications though. In CIWS maybe - they're a static, high volume of fire weapon, but rotary barrels already work fairly well there.
Maybe in space where theres no atmosphere to cool the barrel at all.

Just one of those silly Corsair CPU things, or an actual loop? Guts picture? Temperatures and noise levels? What radiators you got?
Perhaps even the faintest idea of how it stacks up against the tippest of top Noctua (or whatever fans are the best now? I've been out of the loop on computer hardware for the last 2-3 years, and even then water cooling was only a verry marginal improvement over a set of good fans.
