I must be some sort of pleb, I didn't even know Shatner did this. Even more glorious is that he does it in exactly the way you'd expect he would.

Drill of the Month - A dedicated thread to our monthly drills + all discussion and posting shooting related.
>RULES IN OP IMAGE
>You are encouraged to use your duty/carry gun
>If it is even touching the line it receives the higher score
>The number corresponds with score value of the ring
>X==10
>no shot timer? drag a friend(kek) or your mom out with a smart phone
>shoot it as much as you want
>post up to 3 of your personal best targets
>feel free to spam new threads with your previously shot best of (3) but don't add more!
>have fun!
You don't have to shoot with a duty/carry handgun and are free to modify the rules to enable people with restrictive ranges or atypical handguns as long as you remain within the spirit. This is a FRIENDLY and INFORMAL competition.
Rifle shooters and anyone else running any kind of accuracy drill welcome also.
>printable B8 scaled to work with standard 8.5x11" printer paper in next post

Here's the printable target.
>for those with access to only 50 foot ranges use the target B-2 for slow fire and B-3 for the 15 and 10 second strings
I will attempt to find a properly scaled version of those.
This works with standard printer/copy paper and is scaled accordingly.
Gonna try and do this tomorrow morning with the USP45 and M&P9. I feel like it's almost cheating with the 22/45.

Current "open division" leader is ((me)) with a 300/28x, shot with my Contender.
Yes I had to modify the rules because it's a single-shot pistol, hence the "open division"
>namefagging for this thread only
>>33646148
Rimfire is welcome also.
Don't have the pastebin link, happy easter.
I have the chance to buy this privately online, should I?
Anyways. In the mail are these, along with a pair of leather Russian jackboots.
Posting this for the thumbnail dude who wanted a better pic
PANOCHE SOON Edition
[Date]: April 22nd, 23rd (Two Days, Overnighter)
[Location]: Front parking lot of 46378 W Panoche Rd (a Subway)
[Time]:Rally at 8AM, Departure at 9AM (Anons will be on site early to claim our spot from normies.)
Garden variety BLM meetup. This one is great for those who are too poor to go to Lucky Slav but still want to get in on the meets.
Also a great place for those who haven't been to one of our meets before as it's easy to get to. Best compromise for you SoCal goyim since it's halfway between Norcal and Socal and within pissing distance of I-5.

FUTURE MEETUPS:
In addition to the meet above, we have more meetups coming up.
[2ND LUCKY SLAV HOTEL]
Meetup in an abandoned fucking ghost town. DO. NOT. MISS. Everyone who has been agrees that it makes the rest of the meetup spots look like shit.
Date: May 25th - May 28th
[2ND ARKADIA RANCH]
Date: July 19th - July 23rd
The Californian /k/onvoy out to Arkadia Ranch this year. We're going to be setting out the afternoon of the previous day and bedding down in Battle Mountain NV as we did last time so we can be on site as soon as Creepfinder opens up shop on the 20th. Bring good fukken tires so you don't get KEKED AGAIN like me and namseal.

QUICK DISCLAIMER
Due to the fuckstorm of snow this year there is a possibility of 2nd Lucky Slav being pushed back a month or so. If you're one of those goys that waits until the last minute to hop on slack try to get in by at least June so you won't do something stupid like ask for time off in advance only to find out the meetup date was moved. Several days in advance of the meet we will have scouts in the area to insure that it's both passable in general and 2WD accessible in particular.

Hey /k/. Noguns here, they interest me but I've never really taken the time or money to get into it. Anyway, had a question.
I was listening to some buddies argue earlier today. One of them was saying that you never ever draw your gun unless you're shooting the person attacking you.
The other person was making the argument that it's acceptable to draw and tell the person to fuck off, and if they do so then you don't shoot.
I get the first guy. Your gun isn't an intimidation tool, you don't draw it to scare people, you draw it to defend yourself.
I do understand where the second guy is coming from. If you're being attacked but the guy immediately turns around and runs when he sees the gun it makes no sense to shoot him in the back.
Where's the line though? I mean, say you're cornered, back's against the wall, 3 guys with baseball bats and machetes walking towards you, basically no hope of defending yourself. So you draw your gun. If they keep coming, obviously you're going to open fire. But if you draw and tell them to fuck off or get on the ground or whatever and they comply and you immediately call 911, what's the harm in that?
Enlighten me, /k/
Depends on situation, local, and whether or not your local prosecutor office is headed up by a leftist cuck.
Example, in Eastern Washington (pretty red), a guy came up to a CCer and said "give me your wallet" after pulling a knife. CCer pulled a gun and held him up the cops showed up a few minutes later. That happened July 2015 (I was one of the responding officers), nothing happened to the CCer and the attempted mugger had a ton of charges.
A few months ago a guy in Seattle got cornered by a couple homeless guys, one with a knife the other with a pipe. Dude drew his gun and told them to fuck off, homeless people ran. Guy calls cops, tells them what happened, they take a report, no problem. Couple weeks later the guy gets a summons from the court, turns out he's been charged with brandishing a firearm.
In Washington the standard for lethal force is no other reasonable alternative to defend yourself or another person from imminent severe bodily harm or death. Some areas include pulling as "defending". Some other (mostly blue) areas basically say if you drew but didn't fire, you weren't *really* that afraid for your life, were you?
>>33764425
it depends on the state, some have castle doctrine, some have stand your ground, some have duty to retreat ect
thats whats so hard about self defense shooting and preaching it, its really not as cut and dry as "an axe murderer broke into my home and chased me through the house". Most of the time its a situation escalating quickly and the whole time youre not sure if its ok to draw your gun, or even better a seemingly calm scenario going from 0 to 100 in a few seconds. Basically go by this
>if something feels funny or uncomfortable, keep an eye on your surroundings, not just people but exits/entrances as well
>situation escalates and you feel really uncomfortable, have your hand on you gun but dont draw
>if, for arguments sake, its a person in your scenario thats closing in and seems threatening, shout to fuck off and youre armed
>they keep approaching you draw
9/10 this should scare any reasonable person off. you still may get charged with brandishing a weapon or something similar, depending on what happens
>they keep closing in, especially if they have a weapon, you fire and you shoot to mean it
and even then honestly it can still be a crap shoot (no pun intended). theres a lot of "what ifs to consider". you just better hope you have a good lawyer and are in a self defense friendly state. the best thing to have above all else is situational awareness
>>33764425
Broadly speaking, the use, or threat of, deadly force is lawful only when you can reasonably articulate why you felt the other person put you, or a loved one, in immediate danger that would result in death/serious injury, and you why had no alternative.
If someone is stealing your toolbox, you can tackle the guy, but you can't shoot him unless he escalates it. Don't shoot a retreating criminal. That's the police's job to apprehend him. There's a small caveat to that, but it's so small, you'll probably never actually come across it.
If you knew someone was a shady character, and chose to have an altercation with them instead of walking away before the situation escalated, then it's going to make deadly force harder to justify. If you initially aggravate a situation, and it escalates to the level of deadly force, it doesn't matter if they're the first to use it, you still are the initial aggressor, and it's going to make it impossible to justify deadly force on your end. However, if during sometime in that fight, you say something like "Hey, I'm done. I don't want anymore of this. I'm sorry," you've reclaimed innocence, and if they bring out deadly force, now you can respond in kind.
Basically, don't do anything that could be interpreted as you WANTING to be in the altercation.
Also, check about your state's laws when it comes to duty to retreat, or castle doctrine. If your state doesn't hate you, there will be some kind of castle law, and no laws requiring a duty to retreat. You can take a concealed carry course, and they'll most likely go over this stuff.

So guy I have a question to ask, what's the deal with the new 870? I've been thinking about picking up one but I've looked around and people say the new ones are shit. I've always shot one of my fathers (870 wing master) and I have been wanting to pick one up of my own. I've always enjoy the platform and have never had a problem with the gun but I have some concerns, but if the new one are really as bad as I've heard I'll keep clear and try and find a old used one.
Also what the difference in the models?
>>33762070
Not much difference besides aesthetics. Pawnshop a pre '08 one and you're set. I got a used marine magnum for $300. Check online for police trade ins too.

Has used police 870's
I bought two for around $270 each and they were immaculate

Thanks guy I appreciate it, I'll look more into police trade ins. I'll just have to get a longer barrel since I'm a avid bird hunter/clay sporter
Question for New York and general tri state area anons...
Anthony Cumia, former co-host of the Opie & Anthony show, is a gun nut in New York, he lives in long island. He has many videos and pictures of him showing off his arsenal, including a PS90, an FS2000, an M107, glocks, an uzi(w/16 inch barrel) and so on. He also has a carry permit, and carries a USP40C. Is it really true that if you are rich, famous, or powerful you can literally get around gun laws in New York? He also brags about having many friends in the NYPD, hes donated and attended many police charity events, and is a member of the Fraternal Brotherhood of Police.
I love Ant, hes a hilarious and entertaining dude, but is he somehow above the law?
>>33762005
Former NY, can confirm. Tammany Hall is alive and well.
He's rich
>>33762005
>He also brags about having many friends in the NYPD, hes donated and attended many police charity events, and is a member of the Fraternal Brotherhood of Police
>is he somehow above the law?
Yup. Fuck this state.

looks kind of fun, might have to attend the next one. anyone know when and where the next one is?
The Glock trigger is absolutely atrocious! Why would anybody who knows anything about shooting buy a gun with a trigger like that?
>>33761459
Because it works.
>>33761459
because its adequate enough. bitch all you want but if you cant learn to shoot a glock trigger you just suck.
>>33761459
Maybe you andswered your own question.
See, Glawhk was the first center-fired gun I had my hands on, so the rubber trigger ment nothing to me, It was not an issue.
Actually, it was a problem for me to learn to shoot properly from normal, 2-stage triggers of other guns.
Off course, I now feel more safe & comfortable with normal triggers, but Glawkh trigger does not bother me.
