Seconded
Ok /k/. I have a few questions.
Little background
>24yr old
>currently unemployed
>high school education
I am considering joining the US Navy. I feel I have no options on the home front and have a want to be a part of something bigger.
Having 0 military experience and not much knowledge of the Navy in particular, what can I expect if I go through with this.
Could my age and lack of experience be a negative or positive. Etc etc.
They take people with literally less than you do, as long as you're not a literal retard you should be fine. Don't go BM unless you like knots. Both kinds.

Boatswain's Mate
Just fucking go to your recruiter and ask to join, they'll give you more information than a bunch of cucks online can.
No.
I was trying to do an FFL to FFL transfer... WTF is a "background fee?" Are they seriously charging $10 extra on every firearm just because? Fucking bullshit!
Yes, let us force all honest business owners to undercut their own products by allowing you to purchase firearms at lower prices online and ship them to THEIR door then have THEM do the work of running the background check for you, keep all of your paper work properly filed, retain it for the ATF, then have to deal with the mess of having to track goods they didn't even technically sell because it's used in a shooting, legal or not. 10 dollars is chump change compared to the work they're doing just so you can undercut their business, you're lucky they provide the service at all.
>>33767332
This, it's $10 man. I mean if they charged you like $30 on some cheap gun, then yeah. But you're going to complain about $10?
>>33767332
maybe if they stocked anything they wouldn't get undercut, you could order a gun in the fucking MAIL before '68. why the fuck shouldn't it be like that again? Are they worried the public will see what the cancer of "multiculturalism" has done to the public more than they already refuse to if nogs can order in the mail?
>Marines think they are the best
>Navy Seals think they are the best
>Delta doesn't say a word and quietly completes their missions, no bragging
Is Delta the best of the best?
No
They're not CIA SAD SOG

Best sling for an AR15?
I remember seeing a double sling or some shit that switched on the fly to a single point sling, anyone have any idea what that was?
I'm super new to slings and don't know anything about them.
Pic unrelated
I think what you're looking for is a 3-point sling
Proctor way of the gun sling is good I hear.
Magpul ms3 is nice if you think you want single point.

Spec Ops Mamba sling
So apparently the university police force at Berkeley has riot helmets and tactical vests.
Why is a campus police force so heavily geared up?
Is this typical of campus police forces?
If so, why the hell are colleges devoting that much funding to them, especially considering how liberal most campuses are, which generally includes a dislike of militarized police forces?
>>33765767
considering berkeley's track record i'm sure they'll need them
and also they could be DRMO hand-me-downs or something. your assumptions about how much that stuff costs are not necessarily accurate.
>>33765767
not like they need them, since they've been ordered to stand down anytime ANTIFA is involved.
>>33765998
I came here to post this. They might as well have bought airship knockoffs made from unreinforced ABS. They exist to look scary and scare the the unarmed sheepies into behaving, not actually police shit.

Looking to create one of these from old shotgun parts and a new receiver. I know these are pretty much just range toys. Any advice ?
>>33763906
>Go on amazon
>Buy raptor grip
>Attach to shotgun
Tada!
>>33763918
>go to jail
Not that easy. Need to get a receiver that has never had a stock on it. Then swap parts over and get new 14in front end. Just wondering if anyone here has done it before.
>>33763906
Unless you know how to build a shotgun (and have a blank receiver that never had a stock) I'd say just buy the shockwave.
Good condition WWI German GEW 98 Mauser rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber. This interesting gun was manufactured at Spandau Arsenal, as marked on the receiver, and has the “sterne” (star) marking indicating it was manufactured using subcontracted parts. Dated “1916/17” for initial receiver manufacture in 1916, and then assembled in 1917 or returned to the arsenal for repair in 1917. Also has a “1920” date on the receiver indicating the rifle was reissued to the Weimar Republic after WWI. Rifle was later converted to 98k configuration by the Germans in the 1930’s-WWII. Rifle is NOT import marked and has nonmatching numbers. Metal finish is original blue showing wear to brown and gray. Bore is fine and bright with strong rifling. Stock shows wear and handling marks. Barrel is loose and unscrews by hand. Rifle is complete with cleaning rod and front sight hood, and reproduction leather sling. A very interesting GEW 98/98k that will make a great addition to a collection.
Bought it for $497 including shipping. I don't care that it doesn't match, because of muh history and muh two world wars. Also for the obvious reason that converting the rifle to a different configuration is going to mean it won't match.
Very noice
>>33763324
Very nice. I like it. Good clean markings and a lot of history. You did well.
>>33763324
You spent $500 on a parts gun from a known scheister.
I've been a gun nut for a long time but now im finally at the age where im able to aquire a Gun license through a course.
Now im wondering, I've heard in america you basically get your license when you purchase your first gun. Dont have to go through any course just a background check and yadayada. But is it like that in every state in america? And also if you're not american, what do you do in your country to aquire a gun license?
>>33763233
What country are you from?
>>33763233
>gun license
>America
pick one
Amerifag here
most states don't require a license
in 90% of the US you can go to your local walmart
and buy a shotgun/rifle/handgun and walk out with it
you fill out a 4473 form and the clerk calls a number that leads to the FBI who then runs your name and checks if you have any disqualifiers
like warrants, involuntary commitment to a mental hospital, domestic violence, felonies etc.
they give a go/no go and if your clear you buy the firearm there
my father died about a month ago
was looking through his gunsafe salvaging what I could before the extended family could see and start salivating over an estate sale
I found this little rug thing tucked away in the back, it smells like old oil
let's open it up and think of fond memories of him together

Go on.
Yes, let's.
Can't wait to see what happens next
I've been thinking about going to a Project Appleseed event to up my marksmanship game.
If I bring a tube-fed bolt- or lever-action .22lr with PVC speed load tubes, am I going to have a bad time? I have AK and AR pattern rifles, but .22lr is cheaper than 7.62x39mm or .223 REM.
What has been /k/'s experience with Project Appleseed?
Anyone not familiar with Appleseed can read more about it at https://appleseedinfo.org/
>>33762307
Most all of the shooting you do will be in the prone position- lever action, especially tube-loading is awkward af especially when there's time restrictions. You'll have a much better time with the cheapest semi-auto .22 you can find.
Otherwise Project Appleseed is a blast. All the basics are covered if you're inexperienced, and if you are experienced your skills will be refined.
>>33763425
Thanks, guess it's time to sell some of the old bolt guns and buy a semi-auto.
