http://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-military-carrier-idUSKBN17S06B
>China launched its first domestically built aircraft carrier on Wednesday amid rising tension over North Korea and worries about Beijing's assertiveness in the South China Sea.
>State media has quoted military experts as saying the carrier, China's second, is not expected to enter service until 2020, once it has been kitted out and armed.
Inevitable comparisons to US/UK carriers aside, how should this compare with their first carrier?
Still seems based off the Kuznetsov design of the Liaoning, so what (if anything) is different?
A FUCKING RAMP

WTF I want a rifled musket now
>>33768183
You better do
>>33768183
IDK why you wouldn't want a rifled gun, not if you actually want it to shoot worth a damn.
Unless you're using it as a muzzle loading shotgun, and not a rifle, ever.
Alright, I'm curious as to the hardware the Spaniards used post civil war. I know they were using a Mauser variant during the 40's, but did they have any sort of stop-gap before the CETME was introduced?
Also, general Spanish military discussion thread.
SANTIAGO Y CIERRA, ESPAÑA
And btw, answering OPs question.
No, there was no stop-gap rifle. We went straight from civil war era equipment to the CETME Model B in '58.
>>33768143
Wasn't the FR7 and the FR8 used as a stopgap when there weren't enough CETMEs to pass around early in production? I know they were definitely used as training rifles and issued to the Civil Guard.

Why do Russian Soldiers rape each other?
>>33767416
Practice makes perfect.
>>33767437
This. Also when you get enough drinks in you, it just brings out the rape, you want to share that rape with people close to you.
The rapes often come as a result of dedovschina, a tradition where senior conscripts get to boss around their juniors, make them take shitty duties like nighttime sentries in hostile territory in their place, and abuse them physically, emotionally, and sexually. Dedovschina is tradition in the Russian military because they have never been a force with high morale. In books on their war in Afghanistan, it is often noted that dedovschina was responsible for a large amount of mental breakdowns/murders/suicides/fraggings/etc. It is also noted that dedovschina was less common in units of professional volunteer soldiers than it was in conscript units that did not want to be there at all and just wanted to go home. Rates of dedovschina were even less in units of professional soldiers that had expert training in specialties and lots of esprit de corps (for instance, recon and airborne units). The elite units have that esprit de corps. They know "We are professionals, we are specialists, and we are a band of brothers fighting for one cause." The conscripts don't have that. In conscript units, the general mentality is "I'm getting fucked in the ass by the state, so I might as well do a little fucking myself." Basically, Russian senior conscripts at the end of their required period of service often display the same cruel behavior towards their junior conscripts that abused children often do to animals. It's nasty business. All armies have this sort of hazing and unofficial seniority codes, but the Russian military's is and has been historically way out of hand due to the perpetually low morale among Russian conscripts.
Congratulations, Orbital Drop Shoc/k/ Troopers! Today, the Covenant has decided to attack Earth, and a carrier has slipped through our defences.
Intercepted transmissions suggest the commander of this ship, the Solemn Penance, is a Prophet - one of the Covenant's heirarchs. Needless to say, this is a chance we cannot afford to lose.
Unfortunately, however, all of our modern gear is now checked out after equipping boarding teams with sniper rifles, and all we have is a selection of 20th and 21st century firearms, for some reason.
We're seeing reports of Grunts, Jackals, Elites, Brutes, Drones, Hunters and a number of AFVs -including Scarabs.
What is your squad makeup, /k/?
>5 people
>Urban combat and ship boarding action
>Naval, Marine, Army and Air Force assets on standby
>Can only equip with stuff that exists in the real world

I just bought a compound bow, so I'm reading websites and forums about archery to work out what I should do with it.
My conclusion — archery, including bowhunting, is mysteriously wanked. Why are archers such faggots, /k/?

People try to claim its more sporting than using a rifle, as they draw back the string, cocking the cams to relieve the weight and pulling the trigger on their release launching an arrow in excess of 300 FPS...... If you have a kisser button and peep sight its literally as easy as firing a gun... yeah you can shoot instinctive but you could do the same with a gun albeit retarded...

bows are the fedoras of projectile based weapons

'Nam isn't far enough to escape from /k/ memes.
So /k/ I need advice from some glock bros.
I like my g43 and carry it everyday.
My question is do I spend around 500+ to add the following additions? Or is it just all overated?
> agency arms trigger
>streamlight tlr-6
>trijicon HD night sights with orange front
>Vickers ext slide release
>2 hyve extended mags a +1 and a +2
>customs backplate
>appendix kydex holster with sidecar
other than the vanity plate, all pretty good options. it'll be hard to find a sidecar thatll work with the light, though. sperate mag carrier would be more comfortable anyway. check out fury carry solutions for some good kydex. same quality a raven with a better price. and they do full blown custom.
as far as a trigger in an edc gun, idk. just get a cheap connecter. like 20 bucks, max and it'll get you under a 5lb pull.
>>33766264
Honestly bro don't change any of the working parts on the pistol . Replacing parts is the leading cause of Glock Accidentall discharge(especially the trigger) the mag extension he'll yeah! Appendix + vanity plate if that's your fancy
Jesus Christ why in the fuck are you adding all that unnecessary bullshit to a carry gun? I understand liking what you've got and wanting to make it better to shoot, but save that for the range toys. A G43 is far from a fucking joy to shoot and it won't get much better than it is.
If you spent that $500 on ammo instead of useless upgrades you would likely be a much better shot.
Besides if you ever have to use your carry gun in self defense it will be seized as evidence, possibly indefinitely. That's a lot of money down the toilet.
Trigger is not needed. Sights are not needed. Gun mounted flash light is over priced and the same thing can be accomplished with a regular tactical flash light that doesn't require you muzzle whatever you're pointing it at. Using the slide release is wrong, you should slingshot the slide. Custom backplate...c'mon now...
The only two things on that list that might help are a better holster and the magazine extensions. Just do your research and make sure the magazine extensions you're buying still allow for reliable feeding. Then test at least 100 rounds of your carry ammo with the magazine extensions.

>Owner reaches behind the counter and literally just gives me these two boxes for free as a bonus.
>He says they're Syrian.
>Cardboard boxes with some cloth on the white parts. About the size of a pack of cigarettes. Arabic writing. One of the boxes is in worse shape than the other and appears to be on the verge of falling apart.
>Not sure I want to put these through my beloved MAS, but they were free, so I take them.
Can anybody tell me more about this ammo?

Was Watching this video of how the Catapult system on the USS Hornet works and wondered why no one else uses it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJAyGKT98RM
a carrier needs to be able to sortie all of it's aircraft quickly. our huge nimitz carriers are limited despite having 4 launching points due to the need for the catapult/no ski jump
Other countries use Harriers that take off vertically and don't need a runway
>>33765899
The French have a CATOBAR carrier.
Do you usually buy black or white targets?
My range gives you a target when you pay for the day, once I swiss cheese it, I throw on a Shoot N See.
Black is more realistic.
