Remington 870 shotguns are good if they're from 10 years ago, look for an old one on armslist or in pawnshops. Current ones are infamous for rust, broken ejectors and shitty fit and manufacture.
Otherwise there are other good old-fashioned pump guns you can look for, like Winchesters and Ithacas.
S&W Model 10s are alright, incredibly ordinary double-action revolvers in .38 Special, they're nothing amazing (by modern standards), but there's also nothing wrong with them, it's six shots roughly on par any typical 9mm pistol and it's fast to repeat with, it's enough to matter.
With a Model 10 and an 870 (assuming it's an older one), you wouldn't be poorly armed by any means.

You're an idiot with no personal or first hand knowledge of what you speak. You're regurgitation the same anonymous claims from countless clueless fucks.
The fact is base on the number of shotguns manufactured by Remington the % defective product is marginal. That and the shotguns are probably used well beyond what they were designed for. For example the Remington 870 Express was not designed for heavy duty but for recreational hunting/target shooting. You want the top of the line, get an 870Police with a machined (non-MIM like in Express) extractor, and stronger trigger springs.
All this "quality control" nonsense started when people got butthurt that Remington was acquired by Freedom Group, a subsidiary of Cerberus, ie, DA JEWS, in some backward attempt to put out inferior quality gun and thus sour interest in purchasing firearms as part of Black Obama's master plan to take yer guns. Yeah, that's some logic.

i shoot on my property and I only have 3 acres. My 2 neighboring houses are not all that far away either, maybe 75 to 100yds. I'm outside of any city or town limits, yet still 25mi from The biggest city in my state. The terrain of my land gives me a natural backstop, bc it slopes into s holler. And my property borders 100 acres of pine timber land with a big ridge on other side of holler. So you don't necessarily need alot of land is my point.
