i have a cimarron 1911 with the high polish blue finish, after several years of service it is now missing said finish in several places, i find it needs constant maintenance to keep it from rusting, so my question in which kit shoukd i buy that will give me a durable yet shiny finish, something similar to the factory finish, or the finish that colt put on thier commercial 1911s back in the day

That 12 oz tub is two lifetimes supply. A little goes a long way. If you are out in rain a lot or you might get immersed in water disassemble your gun and lay that shit all over the internals. Been using this stuff for over 20yrs.

Evening /k/, I'm trying to get into cowboy action shooting and I was wondering if any of you had any tips going in. Currently I'm looking and picking a lever action rifle, a shotgun, and a revolver towards this end. What are some good guns to look at for this? What qualities should I be looking for in said guns? Given the choice between a short, handy rifle with a 10 round capacity and a longer rifle with a 13 round capacity which one should I opt for? All input is appreciated.

My setup is:
Uberti Cattleman with new hammer and base pin to get rid of safeties.
Marlin 1894 in .45 Colt
20 gauge SxS with true hammers.

no but its a long story. Short version is friend is redpilled but his dad does alot of work in nigger infested areas.
My old man is a plumber but his partner is an electrician although the guy is a bit brain dead and not exactly clever.
He's looking for something he can carry on site and can do some injury if the situation arises.
Problem is most of the big guns that can are big powder explosion based.

Does anyone know if there's a book/website that mentions the rough/approximate value of the older Smith and Wesson pistols? Glocks/most modern pistols are banned by name in MA, so these older SWs are really our only option, and the prices listed on Armslist go from like 150$/piece to like 700$/piece for what seems to be variants on a theme.

Just picked up a dirt cheap parts kit built CETME at my local gunshow, its so far pretty fun but I have a fucking myriad of problems with it. Nothing that cant be solved with some elbow grease and new parts, but I would like a better introspective from more experienced people.
First and most major problem was its a slam fire whore. Did it twice in two mags, luckily the RSO didnt catch on and I got it out of there asap. I ordered a new trigger pack since it looked to be old as dirt and literally just an old full auto spanish trigger group with a screw welded on to prevent it the selector from going to full auto, which is obviously still reason for my doggo to get capped. Will replacing the trigger pack fix the slam fires or should I look into a new bcg as well? It seemed to be just a shitty hammer and hammer springs but I dont want to take chances.
Problem 2, which is honestly my favorite part of this bubba job, is that the front sight is canted at about an 80-75 degree angle to the left, causing the gun to shoot about 2 feet to the right at 50 yards( I didnt even bother with the 100)
Can I solve this just with a hammer and a vice or should I cut my losses and get a picatinny clamp? I'm not trying to win any marksmanship awards but I want it to be functional for fucks sake. I did get it for about half the price of a C308 though so I'm not exactly complaining if I need new parts.

Sounds like a typical Century CETME. I've never heard of one that didn't have the sights welded on so crooked that it isn't even on paper at 25 yards and doesn't have enough adjustment to get on paper either.
This is what you get when you don't do your research. Enjoy your boat anchor, I guess.
