Everyone and their mother loves to shit on the Generals of the Western Front in WWI for wasting lives and not knowing that their assaults wouldn't work.

No one seems to have a good answer for what should have been done instead.

Note, you can't just say "End the War" or "Invent Tanks Early"

Realistically, what should the Generals have been doing in 1914 and 1915 that they weren't doing?

Smaller scale, limited objective offensives. You're not gonna break through and force a 20 mile retreat.
>>
>>33806980

If a gigantic operation across a miles long front can only get a couple yards advance, can you really expect smaller scale attacks to do anything?

The AEK-971 and the AK-107 share the same recoil system that eliminates recoil. Though, recently the Russian government said they were going to adopt the AEK-971. But I was thinking, hasn't the AEK-971 always considered to be more expensive and a bit more complicated than the regular AK design? Why not adopt the cheaper and simpler to produce AK-107 since it is more basal? Is it ergonomics they're looking for? Because they could just do an ergonomics upgrade to the AK-107 if they really wanted to. So what makes the AEK-971 different and better than the AK-107? Is the reliability the same?
72 posts and 16 images submitted.
>>
Edit:
The AK-12 has good ergonomics and the AK-107 could have had a similar upgrade.
>>
AEK is good looking

It does win over the 107 with the aesthetics.

Was this the most successful military occupation in the history of warfare besides the Mongols occupying Eastern Europe and the Middle East?

The 2003 invasion? Certainly ranks there being one of the best invasions of all times.

The occupation/aftermath of the invasion? One of the worst and most humiliating for America off all time. Not only did 1.5 million Iraqi people die, it killed around 5000 americans and the utter incompetence and total failure of establishing a WORKING government that REPRESENTS ALL IRAQI'S and NOT JUST SHIITES has directly led to the creation of IS and its horrors.

I just hope that many of the Americans who were old enough to vote for George Bush here on /k/ know what blood they have on their hands.

1: I am a white caucasian Christian from the Netherlands.

2: 1.5 million died under your watch. Sounds to me you did one hell of a bad job of an occupation. Your country occupied and policed another country and 1,500,000 people died. That is criminal negligence in my book.

I read an AP report that stated about 100 fighters were killed and a tunnel system collapsed by that strike. That really fucks with ISIS fighters heads that we are willing to drop that kind of shit on them, and we have more of those bombs.

To the rest of the world it's dickwaving that American acceptionalism is on the rise again.
