Probably for the most part legal as long as you are not forbidden from owning a handgun in the first place. This is not taking laws specific to certain localities into account. Might be dangerous though. Don't know if a flare stresses the hinge and latch as much as a .38 spc.

Time and time again I hear that firearms themselves won't change much in the near future but that optics, electronics and ammunition will.
I understand the first two, but knowing jack-shit about ballistics, physics, and manufacturing I have no idea what new ammunition would be like.

Why is it that WW2 battleships constantly get shit on but cruisers get let off the hook for some reason? Cruisers have all the same weaknesses as battleships, except they're even more vulnerable to aircraft because they're smaller and have less armor. And don't cite cost as a reason, because cruisers are more expensive than battleships, relative to tonnage.
