Get the slav knockoff for $200 on Kalinka.

If it's half as nice as the pk-A Aimpoint-ski that the Russians make, it's going to be a steal.

Hi everybody, first time on this board looking for your opinions. A little background first:

>live in Italy near mountain where both World Wars have been fought
>a quite common hobby in this area consists in taking walks up the said mountain and pick up war leftovers, even though it's not exactly legal
>I found myself having this thing under my porch, don't remember who the hell brought it home (dad, grandad)
>not sure if it's a grenade, a bullet or whatever

What do? I'm not very comfortable with keeping this shit here as I'm afraid it could blow up some day.

Apart from telling the police and put some relatives in trouble, can I sell it to some collector? Could it be worth something? Is there someone from Italy?

Thanks for each reply guys.

Okay so fully armoring soldiers in general is quite unrealistic and unnecessary but how about armoring the exposed parts of lmg gunners who are pretty much just stationary targets that draw a lot of attention to themselves? Prone is the position they will be doing most of their engagements and being prone only presents a very small part of your body to the enemy and therefore i believe that it would be realistic to make a prone lmg gunner invulnerable to frontal .30 cal rifle fire, ie. 7.62x54r and so on.

So basically this would mean armor plates for the shoulders, collarbone area, for the face and frontally thicker helmets. The face plates would probably be attached to the gun since having a full face mask capable of stopping a .30 cal rifle round is quite unfeasible.

So how about it? Sure the gunner wouldn't be invulnerable against shrapnel and so on but would it be pretty useful that the gunner could only be reliably taken out by indirect means like flanking, artillery, or heavier weapons than what soldiers usually carry like 50 cal.

>what are sandbags
OP you are a fag
>>
>>33876905
dumb. The entire point of a LIGHT machine gun is being able to reposition it when necessary and giving fireteams more bang for their buck. If you're going to armor them up and make them sit in one spot, give them actual cover and a bigger gun.
>>
>>33876915
>carrying sandbags with you everywhere
>>33876922
This is why i emphasized only armoring the parts that are exposed when prone, it would surely be feasible to carry the armor required to protect these areas with you.

What is the best anti-riot helmet and why is it the stahlhelm?
Pros:
>Superior neck and back of head protection
> implying you'll be going prone during a riot
>repros are made to fit all head sizes
>intimidating appearance
Cons:
>1 stahlhelm costs as much as 6 slav pots
>everybody will think you're a Nazi

I did google it. Didn't see shit about snap ring pliers. Thanks anon.
>>
>>33876864
Okay your idea is fail I need another. Even if I file the tips of the pliers down to the proper size for the holes there is not enough room to get more than a miniscule amount of turn because of the size of the pliers and interference from the frame.

Thankfully it only cost me $4 to test it out.

A few pictures from the Vasa museum in Stockholm.

Built in 1626-28 the Vasa seems a reasonably solid contender for the title of "worst warship ever", as she only made it about two miles into her maiden voyage before being sunk by a light breeze. On the positive side this kept the casualties pretty low, as she was still a stone's throw from the nearest shore when she sank, and did so in shallow enough waters that the top of the masts broke the surface, providing refuge for some of the crew.
