So I recently bought two boxes of 185 grain Hornady American Gunner .45 acp. Upon closer inspection of the bullets when loading them, I noticed a select few seemed to have the bullet pushed farther into the casing than others. Pic related is a example I took. Is this a problem? I've never seen this before, so I wanted to check to see if it was.

Bullet setback is very bad and can cause your gun to blow up.
If you're getting this many set back bullets, either you're doing something horribly wrong or your ammo is from a bad lot.
Do not shoot any rounds with noticeably set back bullets. Better yet, didn't shoot anything from this lot. Contact the manufacturer and bitch at them for replacement.

I looked it up, and I've seen that it can be caused by repeatedly chambering a round. I have chambered a couple rounds a couple of times, but not enough that I'd think would cause this. Could I have done it myself, or is it really just bad ammo?

I have 3 guns for sale currently. Info below

TT-33: TT-33C with its holster and one mag. Gun is in overall good to very good condition and is similar to C&R examples sold by Classic Firearms and Aim Surplus (Both out of stock btw). Bore is good, but not mirror bright showing signs of use. $300

VZ-24: VZ-24 Czech Mauser Brno. Rifle is in overall good condition, stock showing some character for its age. No lions crest, and no maring on receiver. Bluing is strong but not reflective. Some parts show bluing wear. Bore is strong but dark. Mismatched parts numbers and somewhat tarnished bolt. Has winter trigger guard. In good functioning condition and has a slick action. What is shown is what comes with. $325

24" Match Upper: Less than 100 rounds of BHA Moly Match through it. I don't get around to shooting it much and it just sits in the safe. Spikes upper, with a 15" keymod freefloat handguard. 24" Anderson Manufacturing fluted .223 wylde match grade barrel. This upper can fire either 5.56 or .223. Comes with everything pictured. Bipod is a Harris 6-9" with a GG&G rail adaptor. No BCG or CH but I can add one in for more. I have about $550 into it with all the parts. Not looking to recover all my money but am looking to get some back. Can provide more detailed photos on request. $435
