Name a legitimate flaw with modern production Mini 14s.

They're mini 14s

/thread
They're like $900 new when a $500-$600 AR will be a better rifle
I love my Mini 14 but they're expensive for what they are
Hey /k/, I'm looking for a certain PDF
Does anyone have a PDF for Get selected for special forces (pic related)?
I've been looking everywhere but no result
Thanks.

Pass you just might.

Buddy,
If you've had trouble finding a PDF on the fucking internet, I got some bad news for you about SO.
are there any versions of the m1 american helmet made of kevlar/whatever modern helmets are made of? I like the look of the m1 but want it to be bulletproof.
>>33988149
Even modern kevlar helmets aren't bullet proof. They might deflect a glancing shot, or stop a shot from really really far, but a straight shot from a 5.56 or 7.62 will penetrate them.
>>33988447
i didnt want to say bullet resistant cause inb4 "m1s are bullet resistant"
>>33988509
M1s are bump helmets that provide some shrapnel protection and might stop a single handgun round. But even if it did stop the bullet, there would be a huge dent and you'd still suffer severe head trauma
Any reason to pick the USP over the P30L?

so /k/ let's get real... you do have a girlfriend, right?
>>33986777
I have a boyfriend and no guns because I don't like guns. It's easy to get (You)s here.
>>33986777
O-Of course I do.
I have a well paying job, I lift, I can protect and provide for my family, am nice to everyone without letting anyone boss me around, and will soon by home-owner.
How coul I not have a girlfriend?
I do buy she hates my guns.
What does /k/ think WW3 will be like? When will it start? Should we expect only a few limited nuclear exchanges aimed at military targets or are we headed for nuclear weapons used against large population centers? How is it going to be like? How many years do you think we have? For me I don't really care, as long as I don't have my city nuked or EMP'd, and I can still use the internet.

Hope your bunker is stocked up with chems and ammo /k/omrade.

The mad max situation seems more likely if youre not in an important country really.
>>33986766
Mutual assured destruction will likely stick around for a while. Fully autonomous AI weapons seem to be on the upswing so I would expect lots of that. Maybe some space drones in the mix as tech advances. De-stabilizing enemy infrastructure probably higher on the priority list than outright destruction of civis. More powerful nations will probably use weaker nations and groups for proxy wars as their boots on the ground. Don't worry about it.
Has anyone on /k/ participated in a UN or NATO peacekeeping operation?
If so, could you share your story?
>walked around
>see atrocity happening
>not allowed to do anything because there's a shit ton of legalities and issues that arise when you shove a multi-national military into a sovereign nation's borders.
Did a couple of tours of East Timor, nothing too hard or terrible really happened.
Was kind of interesting from a deployment perspective, learned a lot about how to set up in technically a 'hostile' (well, not very) location, maintain readiness for anything going to shit and otherwise its just sort of like having to move base really.
Locals where pretty easy going for the most part and happy to see us, met a lot of other soldiers from places like Ireland, Denmark and France, also a lot of fellas from other parts of the military you didn't get to see very often.
>>33986807
That's pretty neat. Aussie? Which Regiment? What sort of equipment and activities did you use/perform?

Saw this gun in the movie wanted. They look really cool. As well as the sniper do they actually make these are is it just hollywood BS?
Ok discussion thread.
>katana vs long sword
Which would u pick? Ppl tend to pick the Katana because of all the stuff they see on TV. "Oh but it's sharper. U act as if the long sword can't be just as sharp. It also might depend on your style both are swords but use different techniques.
>>33986459
longsword because katana is not a tachi or chokuto.
>Skallagrim
Go check him out for a reasonable answer.
But katana is folded millionbillion times like steel
It can cut a tortoise shell no problem
Wouldnt it be cool if we can get modern day flint lock rifles but instead of using the old powder and ball stuff they use real bullets and are single shot. I really want one but idk if they even make them. And on top of that they look amazing.

That sounds like the mk4 not the mk8 you posted YOU FUCKING MONGOLOID
Is buying a ddm4 v5 for first ar smart? Money isn't really an issue, but if bang for buck is shit then I'm not really interested

Calm down anon
I'm having a tough choice choosing between an FAL or a CETME
>fal if you have half a brain
>ptr if you can't into waiting and reading
Up to your taste.
What are your reasons for wanting one of the two?
If you're familiar with ARs, you'll like the controls of the FAL much more
If you have short arms, you'll hate G3 type rifles.
FALs have gotten a better aftermarket in the last decade or so, but the G3/PTR/CETME aftermarket is friendlier and more accommodating
I work with AR platforms a lot so I'm used to it but not really a fan. Having short arms isn't an issue for me. I just want a good battle proven battle rifle in 7.62
Found this while digging trough some of the old military boxes that grandpa had. Any idea what it is? Is it a live one?
